Spring hit with a vengeance as temps roared up to the mid-70s these past couple days. Good times.
A funny thing happened on the way to the bank. Chase Young signed a one year $13 million deal with the Saints, and promptly discovered he needs neck surgery. He should be ready for the 2024 season, but I’m glad we didn’t keep him here. Decent enough guy who is still young, but I like who we have now.
Other than that, just waiting for the draft next month. Since most of what we did on free agency dealt with the defense, my hope is we draft for the offensive line. Like 5 picks for the line. Throw in a couple WRs and CBs, and an LB and we should be good to go. Lots of good linemen in the draft, so trading up is a distinct possibility.
Baseball? The season started 10 days early in South Korea as the Dodgers beat the Pads. At least Farhan and Greggie opened the checkbook. A whole bunch of 2-year deals, but I guess we have Scott Boras and his outlandish demands to thank for that. JD Davis sure found out the hard way how not to take your agent’s advice.

If the pitching somehow settles in, we have a good shot at the playoffs. Funny thing is, 4th place in the West could still get us in.
I agree I think we have a great shot at an above .500 win total and that should be good enough.
The Niners definitely dodged a bullet with Chase neck problems with trench players never work well. I am going to be watching how our draft goes compared to what Washingtons is like. I think Peters had Lynch’s ear as much as Shanny did. I could be wrong and I hope we nail this years draft. Within the next 3 years our team will look way different so I hope we don’t trade BA unless he starts talking shit or we get an offer we just can’t refuse.

This is a bummer the 49ers are penalized by the NFL and forfeiting their 5th rd pick in 2025 due to an accounting error and having their 4thRd pick this year (131) moved back to the end of the round😩
what really sucks about it is that is our only 5th rd pick and that is where we usually strike gold. Someone truly fucked up.

Read this morning that Aiyuk and his girlfriend are talking shit about the Niners. That is definitely one way to get off the team. WR’s seem to think they deserve more than other players and I know how important they are but team chemistry is the most important factor IMO. So there is a good chance we trade him.
I’m not gonna read too much into social media hype. Aiyuk is under contract this year, so he’d have to sit out to really force the issue. Not seeing that.
And the 49ers are gonna demand a king’s ransom for him if they do trade him.
I agree with that and I really think it’s the wrong time to get rid of him. The article I read is somewhere in the Athletic it seems his girl friend is saying stuff on Tic Tok.(sp)
This is a more expensive roster and less able to take the deebo crap. Also Matthew Stafford got WR1 performance out of a rookie
IMO BA intransigence will be sensed and he will traded during day 1 of draft. if Stafford can bring up a rookie then why not Purdy

The Niners just have to make a long-term contract for BA work. The guy just gets open and is Purdy’s favorite target.
