Plenty of moves this free agency, so let’s just wee what we got.
Gone are a 7th round pick, Arik Armstead, Isaiah Oliver, Oren Burks, Sam Darnold, Clelin Ferrell, and Charlie Woerner.
Here are Maliek Collins, Jordan Elliott, Yetur Gross-Matos, De’Vondre Campbell and Isaac Yiadom.
We have re-signed Flannigan-Fowles, Colton McKivitz, Brandon Allen, and George Odum, and tendered Jauan Jennings.
The glaring thing is to sign Brandon Aiyuk.
And, stop me if you’ve heard this, GET MORE O LINE DEPTH!

Given all the push and pull. I think we are better, if not strictly in depth on the defensive line. Didn’t like to see Burks or Ferrell go, but that is the struggle when trying to balance a shitload of good players on shorter contracts.
Even moreso, I think the change in defensive coaching style will do worlds for this team. The Niners beat the shit out of fair to middling teams, but struggled getting consistent pass pressure on the better teams. All season long I thought we were too passive and soft early. As shown by the numerous early TD drives given up. And the tiring of the D in some of these losses.
I sense we will get more offensive weapons in the draft. And hopefully 3-4 new offensive linemen. Backup TE is still a concern and I’m sure Shanny will go for another RB at some point in the draft.

Giants News – I have to laugh at JD Davis being bummed out how his ‘winning’ his arbitration case blew up in his face. His agent tried to play hard ball, and in the end lost JD $4 million. They knew the Giants were going after Chapman but still pushed the high number.
Oooops!
Here’s another one.
I was at this game, sitting in the south end zone. A monumental victory only to be shattered a week later.
Twinfan’s dad on the call.
49ers stuff starts at 4:43.
Awesome Ray Scott. Love old unis, thanks.
The stadium was chanting for Brodie in the 3rd quarter after that 3rd INT.
Turnovers all over the place.

Seems unpleasant but stuff like this needs to be talked about.
It ain’t unpleasant, it’s stupid.
If the 49ers WANT to go ahead and fuck up their next season, they’d trade BA.
A couple of the commenter made the point that zay Jones is garbage. So the niners need to have confidence that the WR they take in this strong wr draft class and can be coached up as a rookie.
Oops WR at #17
Maybe I missed it but I didn’t see RG Feliciano listed?
In other news the 9ers 4th round pick this year got pushed back 4 spots and they lost a 5th round pick next year for payroll reporting issues.

Yeah, Feliciano re-signed as well. I think the article came out a little before he did. Thought I caught everyone.
Payroll reporting? Wow. Jolly Roger isn’t leaving any turn unstoned.

Pick 17 would be a prime slot for OT CB WR TE.
Gonna come down to Cap-enomics with BA & Purdy extension.
With Deebo and Bosa holding big deals already it’s not looking feasible to keep everyone intact.
We can for this season.
Not gonna miss Young. He was fine for what he was.
As far as losing Aiyuk goes, it would be very irresponsible to let him walk at this point. He has a great feel for playing with Purdy and our offense in general. This is our best shot to keep most of the team here. Purdy’s contract will explode next offseason. Then there will be a lot of changes. Unless we can work out a 30 year deferment a la Ohtani. I don’t even know if the NFL allows that kind of shit.
Wow. Snell signed a 2 year/$66 mill deal with the Astros. Montgomery is the on;y guy left.
Snell’s gonna get lit up like a pińata in that crackerjack stadium.
No he didn’t. He’s coming here isn’t he? Just saw Twitter from Pavs on it.
I don’t see trading BA, they won’t get over the hump and securing #6 taking away their most productive WR.
I figure they keep the band together for another run at it before experimenting with the major players to get Purdy paid.
Purdy lucky to come into a well rounded roster. He may do a Tom Brady and go low salary for the team. Helps to insure they can stay on top for a longer time.
Wow. Giants go $62 mill for 2 years of Snell.
I’ll bet not pitching in Houston’s bandbox had something to do with his choice.
This might get Flav out of hibernation.
The Giants look a lot better now than last year. However we have to figure out why our fucking pitchers can’t stay on the field.
Looks to me like the Niners are throwing players at a wall just to see if any stick.
10 days before Giants open season I think. Have to ask Loo what he thinks of DeVincenzo, guy I wish GS could have held onto but for salary issue.
Podzenski’s (???) better. Terrible game by the Dubs tonight. Throw in some awful calls, and there you have it. They must have had 8 turnovers in the 4th quarter alone.
Yeah, the Giants actually look pretty good. But I’m not sold on the pitching. Even with Snell.
hey chuck (and other flappers): I went to the blog to fire up a post to start the season and I can’t get into my account. LOL. And I’m getting no help from wordpress (even though they keep charging me monthly). I’ll try to figure this out at some point but for right now the blog is DEAD and I can’t bring it back..
Weird. I can get in. I posted something to see if it would work and it did.
I don’t have full admin rights though so I can’t add/change user accounts or settings.
I will say, I think for once the park played a positive role in Snell picking the Giants over the Astros. With all the walks he gives up, he;d have had a tough time in Houston’s band box.
And the 49ers signed Josh Dobbs! Hey, whatevs. Since Darnold is gone, he’s fine. He’s shown flashes of brilliance and won’t take as many sacks as Sourdough Sam did.
So have the Giants done enough to get to the playoffs. It appears they have, like the players and the contracts. Now just like every sport hope the injury bug stays away!!
All these guys are on either 2 year deals, or 1 and opt-outs.
Not sure how you sustain momentum, but hey, this year should be fun.
Honestly I can’t wait to see how we do against our division. I don’t expect we kick anyones ass except maybe the Rockies but if we take em to .500 that will be a win. I think it’s gonna be a fun year also and the Giants could definitely use one of those.
All about the pitching. As hs been proven over time, good pitching beats good hitting. The Dodgers have failed in the playoffs over and over because of this.
They get overmatched. Last year they were injurd as fuck but hey them’s the breaks.
New thread is up.
