Wild finish to the season. Seattle Pete is out. The high-flying Packers are in on the arm of Jordan Love and a couple hot rookie WRs. The Rams got their shit together and made a strong run down the stretch. Philly is staggering into the playoffs with an embarrassing loss to the woeful Giants. They finished on a 1 – 5 run. The Lions are back in the playoffs and are looking for their first playoff win in 33 years.
The surprising Browns (20 years since their last playoff appearance), and the reaminated Joe Flacco, lead the charge to take down the Ravens. DeMeco Ryans willed the Texans into the playoffs, and the Mike McDaniels-led Dolphins staggered into the playoffs by losing the game, and the division to the wildly weird Bill on the last day of the regular season.
The Steelers and Bucs feel like cannon fodder at this point, but with the Iggles imploding, TB likely pulls off the win. At home.
Saturday, Jan. 13
- (5) Browns at (4) Texans, 4:30 p.m. ET (NBC). For just the second time in 20 years, the Browns are in the playoffs. These two teams met back in Week 16, but you probably shouldn’t take too much away from that 36-22 win by Cleveland because C.J. Stroud didn’t play. The Texans superstar rookie will be on the field this week and he’ll be facing one of his biggest tests of the season in the Browns defense.
- (6) Dolphins at (3) Chiefs, 8 p.m. ET (Peacock). Tyreek Hill is going to get a second chance at beating his former team, and this time, he gets to do it in Kansas City. These two teams did meet back in Week 9 in a game that Kansas City won 21-14, but that game was played in Germany. The temperature in Kansas City is expected to be below 12 degrees on Saturday night.
Sunday, Jan. 14
- (7) Steelers at (2) Bills, 1 p.m. ET (CBS/stream on Paramount+ (click here). This game will be played in Buffalo, where the Bills have been nearly unbeatable this year, going 7-1. Josh Allen has faced the Steelers four times in his career and he’s gone 3-1 in those games. The Sunday forecast in Buffalo is calling for sub-freezing temperatures with possible snow.
- (7) Packers at (2) Cowboys, 4:30 p.m. ET (Fox). This will be a revenge game for Mike McCarthy. This will mark just the second time that the Cowboys coach has faced the Packers since being fired by them in December 2018. McCarthy lost the first meeting in 2022 and will be looking to get his first win over Green Bay.
- (6) Rams at (3) Lions, 8 p.m. ET (NBC). For their first home playoff game in 30 years, the Lions will be welcoming an old friend back to Detroit: Matthew Stafford. The Rams QB led the Lions to the playoffs three times, but never got to play a home game. This will also be a huge game for Jared Goff, who will be facing a team and a head coach that traded him away because they didn’t want him anymore.
Monday, Jan. 15
- (5) Eagles at (4) Buccaneers, 8:15 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN). The Eagles are stumbling into the playoffs, but they will head to Tampa Bay knowing that they beat the Buccaneers 25-11 at Raymond James Stadium back in Week 3.
At the moment I am hoping the Texans, Dolphins, Bills. lions, and Bucs survive. Although I think Cleveland is going to win and likewise with the Chiefs. Anyway we got through yesterday without any serious injuries so that was a win in itself.
Fans cussing out the NFL for giving Peacock a playoff game. I also think it is wrong. Hey Charlie, will your stream east have the game?
Yeah that sucks.
Yep.
I got a question. I haven’t paid a whole lot of attention to the teams that had playoff hopes. Was it because the Rams beat us at the end of the game that Seattle missed the playoffs? I hope it is.
I think it was Green Bay having a better interconference record than Seattle.
The Rams were in regardless of what they did yesterday. Seattle needed Green bay to lose to get in.
Thanks
That AC/DC shirt the harmonica player is wearing is too cool.

Huskies mounting comeback with 4 th down stop on D and drive for TD. F Harbs
Michigan was pounding the run game 2 huge gainers 59 and 46 for TD’s by Edwards In the 1st quarter and 209 yards rushing at the half. But Huskies much better in 2nd quarter as Penix Jr now outplaying McCarthy who started hot but not now. Should be a good 2nd half with Huskies getting ball 1st…Go Huskies!!
Turned into defensive battle. Impressed by UM tackling on short throws Penix completes.
Just proves the point of Defense wins championships.
Yep. Still think Harbs is gonna jet to LA and in 3 years Mich will have to abdicate the National Championship.
I don’t see it. He has too much control in college — over players schedule admin and style of play. Doesn’t have to worry about draft or salary cap or GMs and owners. He can add to roster via transfer portal every year. Can’t see him going to rebuilding franchise while he’s sitting on top. And that sign stealing thing is minor issue.
Two road wins, the rest home team wins. My predictions:
(5) Browns at (4) Texans
Browns
(6) Dolphins at (3) Chiefs
Chiefs
(7) Steelers at (2) Bills
Bills
(7) Packers at (2) Cowboys
Cowboys
(6) Rams at (3) Lions
Lions
(5) Eagles at (4) Buccaneers
Eagles
This ain;t about sign-stealing.

Be nice to have a DC for more than a season. Our players make them look too good.
We get draft picks every time though.
