This is gonna be a battle of the backups as neither the Rams or 49ers are playing for anything. Sourdough Sam Darnold gets the start, alongside Kit Carson Wentz (to extend that wild west theme). We can’t rest everyone, and the only certains appear to be Purdy and CMC. I would hate to see Tent Williams out there. As well as Bosa, Gravedigger, Aiyuk, Deebo, and Chase Young, but we have to field a team.
Some spots left to fight for playoff-wise. Mainly Seattle trying to knock Green Bay out, and a bunch of teams trying to knock Indy out of the 7th spot.
Which makes our first playoff game on the 21st likely a bottom-feeder like TB or GB.
What’s funny is I can easily see both Dallas and Philly losing their opening round wildcard games. Philly’s run defense is absolutely garbage, and they are struggling mightily to score in the red zone.
Dallas will have a home game for their opener, so they may advance past the WC round. Glad we are getting the rest we need.

The #49ers have made the following roster moves:
– TE Ross Dwelley has been placed on IR
– WR Ray-Ray McCloud has been activated from IR
– S Tayler Hawkins & RB Jeremy McNichols have been activated from the practice squad
– WR Danny Gray & WR Jauan Jennings are out
– FB Kyle Juszczyk is questionable (illness)

yeah, hopefully Jennings is just a precaution because he’s already been 3 weeks with a concussion he really is an important part of this team and a true gamer. As far a Gray goes it would be a good time to play him with rocket arm Sam starting. My guess is he just hasn’t bought into the Niners philosophy that WR’s block. Anyway it’s kinda cool to watch a Niner game that has no meaning.
DeMecco Ryans poised to get the Texans into the playoffs. Crazy.
And, since the NCAA is gunning for Harbaugh, the word out there is that he’s looking at the San Diego HC job.
Saw that Jim is engaging Don Yee again Chuck.
He’s certainly going to make an effort to jump ship in Ann Arbor.

Not gonna get to see lot of it in real time., but interested to see what Darnold can do, and how he fits into next year plans. Also Mason in backfield and chances for some D linemen to plant Wentz in their backfield. Rams to me are team to be wary of in playoffs.
Agree, the Rams finished strong they also have 3 pro bowl worthy rookies. Definitely can’t over look the Rams
Nice efficient job by the #1 team in football scoring on their opening drive this year! Darnold 5-5 lookin very sharp and Mitchell tops it off with the TD run..Good to have him healthy hopefully for backup role along with Darnold..
Nice to see that the O can still move the ball. The D is okay, the Niners should win. We will see how many starters are still in after the Half
