How the West Was Won

Never saw the movie, but the 49ers took a big step in at least winning the division. Beating Seattle means a 2 game lead plus the tiebreaker. Not that this is the goal, but it is part of the plan. And, bonus points for passing the semi-unreal Deetroit (paper) Lions. What I thought was very cool about the 49ers victory over the struggling Seahawks was the fact that a lot of the players took the time to look at the Turnkey Day massacre from 9 years ago that saw Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman eating turkey on the logo at Levi’s stadium.

Which led to the turduckenfest on the sidelines of Sofi Field where George Kittle stole the entire turkey. This kind of stuff is usually only noticed by the fans, so it’s good to see the players getting involved.

Fun times in Ninerland. Despite a bit of a let-down in the 3rd quarter, the Niners dominated this game. So, now we have 10 days off before the return trip to Philly to take on the 9-1 Eagles. A win by Buffalo tomorrow would raise the stakes even higher. And if there’s a team due to get their shit together I guess it would be Buffalo. They are on the outside of the playoff picture now and looking to gain on Miami, so they need to pull this off. It would make for an even more epic battle come December 3rd.

Apparently it was Shanahan and Lynch suggested Ward could handle Locket 1 on 1. Maybe it’ll work vs. Brown too. Wilks seems to have found groove and D looks solid.

We just have to out-hit em, make these asswipes eat some dirt. This one is personal to me and I don’t usually let that happen

  3. willedav's avatar willedav says:

Saw different stats showing Purdy has most completions of 20+ yards and best pct. so glad they are throwing downfield when he has time and he’s nailing them.

He really does look amazing. I have no idea what his ceiling is. My hope is that he can stay upright and be a Niner for a very long time.

chuck- I have been having trouble sending in posts. sometimes I have to go in and out of the site to see them posted. I know it must be me and will try to fix it.

Hmm. That happens on my phone sometimes.

Fucking Buffalo doing what KC did and is dropping passes. Cook just dropped a TD.

Then they commit 2 false starts to beck themselves out of FG range.

And commit a facemask on the punt. Stupid fucks.

  6. Winder's avatar Winder says:

lol, chuck I have no idea what a cache is or where to find it. I am using a apple.

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Buffalo doing the job despite 10 penalties. 17-7 at the half.

  8. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Hell of a game. Buff takes the 31-28 lead with 1:52 left.

  9. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Comes down to a 60-yard attempt for the tie. Holy shit. He made it!

    Fuck!!

  10. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Philly gets a huge boost from these refs.

    11-3 in penalties.

  11. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Oooooo. And Allen with the acting job.

  12. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Wow. Blown play doesn’t end the game. Fuck! Davis was wide open and Allen threw to thr wrong shoulder.

    • Berger's avatar Berger says:

Allen threw to the correct shoulder, the receiver screwed up. It is common knowledge that when there is zero blitz, if you beat your defender, run to the middle. The reason is because there is no safety and the QB will likely not have time to choose. The WR knew he blew it and that is why he threw his helmet.

  13. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

And Buff blows it in the end. Terrible. Oh well. This meanswe really have to take care of business next week to even have a chance.

    Buff 505 yards, Eagles 378.

    wow

Good point made in the Philly broadcast regarding Buffalo pass rush staying in their lanes against Hurts.
    Keeping him from stepping up.
Didn’t see the entire game but, once he’s flushed he’s a different animal to contend with, ala Russ in the Seattle days of backyard football.

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yep. The LBs on the scrambles are key. Maintaining the edge is desperately important. Bosa and Young have to get upfield a bit before going after Hurts.

  15. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

Not sure idf I shared this yet but…Javier ROCKS 😀

  16. willedav's avatar willedav says:

Chargers weirdest 4-7 I’ve ever seen. Top 3 skill players on offense yet they gain 190 yards on 44 passes thrown for 10 points.

  17. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Coaching a major issue with that team.

Shit, look at the Bills 505 yards of offense and they lose. Dropped passes and turnovers.
