I guess we arenlt what we thought we were. The great feeling after that Cowboys game, where they looked like pretenders and we were the contenders, well, they’ve won two since that game, and we’ve lost 3. That was touted as their Super Bowl, but we sure look like w got high on the press clippings, and forgot how to play.
The defense has been atrocious, and Brock Purdy is the man who fell to Earth. Like the Minnesota game, he played well until a really fucking stupid interception late. Ho him. a 31-17 loss. I think I predicted a 28-17 win.
So, fuck the #1 seed, we are now behind the Seahawks. And our #1 defense is now a fucking sieve for screens and short yardage passes. Fucking Burrow, no slouch, was 28-32, 3 TDs. Our D was yet again torched for 400 yards. We suck. And there appears to be no answer from Wilks as we continually give up 3rd down plays and long drives.
We did get 3 sacks but it didn’t slow down anything from Cincy.
Our offense? Gee, we had 467yards that amounted to a couple scores, but failures when it mattered. Hard to pin this on Purdy, but that pick down in their end was pretty fucking stupid. Purdy needs to figure out when to give up on the stupid shit going through his head and either throw the ball OB or take the 3 yard loss.
As is becoming very apparent, we can’t count on our defense anymore to stop teams. Yeat another team had multiple long time consuming drives. And again we had our chances but fucked them up.
Oh well. Still a lot of games to go, but fucking Wilks is a disaster as of now.
The D has evaporated under Wilkes and now Purdy is trying to do too much in the 4th quarters and throwing away the game. I am having a hard time with why they are continuing to play the soft zone underneath game giving easy completions, and QB running room with no real adjustments to compensate. Purdy had a decent game for 85% of the game and stunk for 15%, pretty much the same for 3 weeks in a row. Deebo and Williams coming back after the bye will help but unless the run game gets on track it may not be enough and where the heck is Jordan?
CMC will be broken down by the end of the season if not before, there is no mystery to that. Shanahan has to get a better rotation going and hold CMC to no more than 20 touches, just pick the spots. Yes CMC is awesome but it’s a long season.
The bye came at the perfect time, self scout, adjust the D scheme and examine the running game rotation. The interior 3 lineman are playing mediochre football, where is Juice now?
Yeah, most of the issues here are with coaching I think. The defense is just so soft i=on the underneath zone to the point of absurdity. Screens and underneath TE shots are hit at about a 99% hit rate. Again, an QB was unfettered to throw pases as the defense struggled to cover.
The offense is OK, but as these games drag on with the defense not stopping anything, it falls more and more on our (might-as-well-be) rookie QB. The picks in the 4th were awful once again, but the defense is doing nothing to stop the 80 yard drives and stop the many 3rd down conversions.
Our fucking leading rusher was PURDY. Where is the line? Where is the play calling to get guys in a position to succeed?
This team is being out-coached on both sides of the ball over and over.
The only thing that make s me happy, but it still pisses me off, is hearing Voodoo Child in those fucking Acura ads.
I need to hear some of that to soothe my soul. If I could only time travel. It doesn’t get much better than this.
I tell ya, that missed FG in the Cleveland game is getting bigger and bigger as this season rolls along.
And thabnk god for the byue week. We need to revamp the defense in a hurry. We went from the best defense in the NFL to the 20th D in no short order.
And we supposedly have better players. Fucking Ryans wouldn’t be doing this bad. Or Saleh. Not even close.
We have another middling underachieving team licking their chops to carve up our defense in the Jaguars.
And here I thought we were poinsed for greatness.,
I just hope we make the playoffs now. Wilks has turned this ass-kicking defense into the most boring shitty bunch in the league. How do you fucking possibly make these guys look bad?
They HAVE to make a change during this break.
Well one silver lining it’s just like last year in the division we’re still the only undefeated team 2-0 this year, and won them all.And again it will only be Seattle with any challenge.. But yeah they better be pissed off going into a timely break and start getting their SHIT TOGETHER cause they were manhandled in all phase’s today!!
Three games in a row both the lines were dominated.
All the fucking detractors around Purdy are right when they say this team struggles when the run game isn’t going.
It is and we are.
But by far the biggest problem is the weak-ass defense just giving up big chunk plays every fucking down.
They really need to do something drastic around the defensive strategy. If that means shit-dfanning Wolks NOW, I’m down. Because absolutely nothing is working. Our LBs aren’t in position to stop the short passing game, the screen defense is up there with Singletary’s 3rd down disaster defense, and we just get gashed fir runs all the time. By teams that have NO FUCKING BUSINESS getting through on us.
Curious to see if Lynch pulls the trigger on any changes this week at the trade deadline.
NYJ just lost DT Al Woods today and I always connect deals to former coaches.
I’d suspect we aren’t going to offer Kinlaw a 2nd Contract either.
If Saleh & Co are willing to offer enough, I’d deal Kinlaw and seek another Fat Man in the middle to assist Hargrave.
We’re not holding the point very well of late to say the least.
Brocktober has been very humbling and I’m hoping they’ve gotten it out of their system.
Still hoping to regroup and get things back on track for the second half,
I see it a little differently but…what do I know?
San Francisco is “looking to add a few pieces like edge rusher and cornerback,” The Athletic’s Diana Russini reported Saturday, citing sources. Per Russini, 49ers general manager John Lynch is “working the phones.”
I’m a sucker for a nasty NT.
Get me another fat man in the middle 😀
Now that I’m an older fart..
Does Vince Wilfork have any kids ready to play?
Then there’s Shanny’s opinion…
Shanahan says 49ers’ losing streak won’t influence deadline moves

I would agree with the potential addition of another DB.
Oliver is getting torched in the nickel-back situations.
Brock made some great throws and a couple of very nice decisions to run. He isn’t the problem. Our defense sucks. And since it basically the same guys as last year I am pointing the finger at the coordinator. It’s not going to happen but I’d love it if they shitcanned him and brought in someone who knew how to do what Ryan did.
That being said 5 2nd half picks in 3 games isn’t gonna win you a lot of football. That’s on Brock. His picks yesterday were both in the red zone.
Cost us 14 points. The amount we lost by. 456 yards of offense and 17 points is a failure all around by the offense, but mainly on Brock.
The tone was set when we went 3-and-out, and they took the ball 85 yards for the TD.
The obvious difference thus far is Wilks’ absence from the sideline.
No direct contact with the guys and little to no fire in his demeanor.
Kocurek is quite the opposite and, I don’t know if that dynamic is a good reason for our skid but, it might be a good place to start.
No clue if Wilks commands or projects any sort of energy but, it would seem that we’ve lost a lot of discipline on D.
Time for an early Festivus gathering and the airing of grievances perhaps?
Something has to ignite.
Who’s going to bring the match to light the fire?
Times like this is where Sherm would be calling the troops to order.
Is there anyone wearing that armour in the locker room now?
Time to stand up and be counted…
Tim Ryan on KNBR said the big difference for the defense is Welks is up in the booth not like Saleh who was down on the field communicating
With the bye here, they NEED to get rid of Wilks. The D is better on paper than last year, but the results in this losing streak are painfully obvious.
Our defensive line plan completely based on 1:1 matchups. Straight ahead. No stunting, and our few blitzes are easily seen and picked up. Teams are beating that by getting the ball out quick. Our underneath zone coverage is either too deep or too soft. We used to fly to the ball on these quick passes. Now we are 5 yards away chasing guys down. I don’t have the answers but we either have to man up on the short routes and disrupt the timing, or bring the zone in closer.
That being said, this offense has got to get out of its own way. We racked up 467 yards of offense to score 17 measly points. Our drives were great until the picks in the 4th quarter.
Brock needs to stop throwing picks late. He HAS to read the defense better, especially in the red zone. Especially late in games When the pressure is on,and we are coming from behind, he’s forcing passes and it is killing our chances late in games. Those 2 picks cost us 14 points.
Amazingly, the amount we lost by. In the last 2 games, Brock has 4 picks in the 4th quarter.
But once again, the tone was set on the opening drive, when we went 3-and-out, and they marched down the field easily to score their 1st TD. And once again, the run game was fairly anemic. Purdy ended up being the leading 49er rusher. Losing Trent surely shows up here.
Team has to get healthy and firing on all cylinders. This is the ideal time for a break as we should get both Williams and Deebo back when we play the Jags on the suddenly *gulp* unfriendly road.
Well Seattle just landed a fat man in the middle from NYG.
They traded Leonard Williams for a 2nd.
Not much to add that you all have not already pointed out. I still see Purdy as a cut above anyone we have had for a long time. His ability to move around in the pocket and still look downfield, throw on the run, and **mostly** deliver the ball to OUR receivers is way better than Jimmy G, BeatHard, Lance, Mullens, et al. After blowing it yesterday he did come back and kept playing, moved the team down for a TD. He didn’t crater. He is not afraid. He is not cocky. But what he still has to prove, and is that one intangible that rises above all others and the measurables — he has to show he is clutch. He’s 0-3 in the clutch department the last 3 weeks. We all remember Joe having some shitty games, but we also remember him bouncing back — and being clutch. Over and over. Brock has a long way to go, But I think he has the mental fortitude to do so. Hope I’m right.
That said, the bigger problem is the D. Basically the same team, very loaded and talented, as last year. All healthy. All playing below their ability. I have to point the finger at Wilks. Sure, the entire team lathered in their own press clippings after the Dallas game, but no way that should last 3 weeks. They are playing as a bend AND break defense, starting with losing the battle at the point of attack.
As for mid-season trades, I do not see anything that could match the incredible team-changing trade for McCaffery last year. The fix has to start at the coaching level. Will see if ShanaLynch have the patience to see Wilks underperform for much longer. They better have a come to Jesus bye week.
Well, we have 15 minutes to do something.
5th place in the NFC standings as of now.
We’ve fallen behind the fucking Cowboys. They acted like that was their super bowl, but we are plying like we thought it was ours.
We seem to be playing off our accolades now.
loved the Rainbow Bridge vid.

There is a definite disfunction within the org. My guess is there is multiple disfunction’s. Defenses have figured us out and we don’t seem to have any answers to counter there plans. Coaching deficiency and it starts with the HC on down. Shanny is showing he is more of a one trick pony than a genius.
The shit play has to fall back on the coaches. Especially Wilks. Ever since the Dallas game, they seem to think they can win by showing up. All the missed tackles yesterday is indicative of some kind of deeper issue.
I wonder if they are thinking about promoting D line coach Kris Kocurek and dumping Wilks.
This would be the ideal time. Because if this team keeps playing this Mr. Softie defense, we aren’t even gonna make the playoffs.
Purdy bears the brunt of some of this, because he’s fucking up at the worst possible time. All 5 of his picks have come in the 2nd half, and 4 of them in the 4th quarter. Yesterday’s were in the red zone.
One of the more incendiary performances by Hendrix.
This is from Jimi plays Berkeley. A show I was born 5 years too late to see.
Another fat man move, former 9er K-Street
Eagles deal DL Kentavius Street to Falcons
Philadelphia dealt defensive tackle Kentavius Street and a 2025 seventh-round pick to the to the Atlanta Falcons for a 2024 sixth-round pick.
Always liked him but he was another injury special. Couldn’t seem to get on the field.
Matt Maiocco says Kyle might ask Welks to coach from the side line, definitely a disconnect sinc the other coaches left. I have always believed in a hands on approach. Talk to your players after each set of downs, what worked what didn’t. It just isn’t the same watching a replay in a booth
Just fucking get rid of him. He obviously isn’t used to, or comfortable, coaching from the sidelines. He’s supposed to get better doing something he isn’t happy with? Cut him loose. If we lose this next game, he’ll be gone anyway.
Lol Chuck on Wilks get rid of the bum 🤯
Walk the plank,Frank Nitty says rub him out put the hit on Wilks immediately!!
CB need would be a nice addition heard rumors about Bears young CB Jaylon Johnson wants to be traded ( hey it’s the Bears I would want out too) a good corner, move Lenior to the slot,Oliver to the bench as man he’s been torched way to often!
Other’s not as good but depth CB Donte Jackson,Denico Autry DL,
Commanders just traded DL Montez Sweat to the Bears for a 2nd rd 2024 pick didn’t expect the Bears to be buyers?
Seahawks picking up DTLeonard Williams was huge for them saying they’re all in, Niners need to counter with Lynch working the phones! Plus the 49ers have 80 million cap space to use top 3 in the league let’s use some and improve the team some more! Yeah and I would be in on OL depth as well..
New thread is up. Yeah, I’d love to get Jaylon. I’ll move this post over.
