Purdy Close to Playing

Brock purdy went through another practice today, and barring any setbacks, looks to play on Sunday. We already know Deebo is out, but Trent Williams remains a day-to-day thing. Likely a game-time decision. From what I’ve read, it’s prety uncommon for players to get though the concussion protocol in less than a week, but Purdy has proven to be pretty resilient where it comes to injuries seeing as he had his throwing arm rebuilt in the offseason, missed all of training camp, and started the season rpretty damn well.

So, where does that leave us? Well, hard to say. The team could very well be 7-0, but for a missed FG and a terrible zero blitz call. Two plays. But that is the NFL. As Minnesota showed last year, you can win a shit-ton of games if you can finish them. Which as we all know can be an issue for Shanahan and company. As it is, we are 5-2. Seattle, the team that will NEVER go away, is hot on our heels at 4-2. But they have the resurgent Cleveland Browns. In Seattle. That’s gonna be a fun one.

But Cincinnati comes to town. Joe Burrow has shaken off his early-season missteps and injuries to get the Bengals back on the road to respectability. I guess. The Bengals have beaten all the other NFC West teams, but lost to all their AFC foes. Odd. Cincy is dead LAST in yards per game and 28th in points scored. They don’t give up a ton of sacks, but I really don’t get what happened to their high-powered offense.

Their defense is 27th in yards allowed and 15 in points allowed so you’d think the team that is travelling would have the disadvantage. But as these last two games have shown, we aren’t exactly firing on all cylinders right now. Steve Wilks acknolwedged his fuckup, and Purdy said he’s still learning, but it is time for this team to get their shit together, or we will once again be fighting from behind.

Time to shit or get off the pot.

    Purdy cleared to play.

Williams is questionable and is likely a game-time decision. Frankly, Jaylon Moore did a good job Monday night. It was the defense the flailed.

Where are you getting your info on Purdy. Lynch was on KNBR Friday and he said he could not comment on concussion protocol and what faze Purdy was in. Management double talk?

That’s Zappa’s song, Winder. I think the West Coast . . . . . got a little more airplay. At least that’s the one I heard on Dr. Demento.
