Off to Minnesota, Don’tcha know?

Stop two of this roadie is Minnesota, land of 1,000 flakes. I guess we can all thank or collective stars that the bromance between Kyle Shanahan and Kirk Cousins has never reached its fruition. Then again, if you listen to the pundits, Shanny would have turned Cousins into Joe Montana at this point and we’d have a few Super Bowls by now.

I guess we will never know, but Minnesota is seeing the flipside of all their close win last year with a boatload of close losses. Of their 13 wins last year, 11 of them were one score or less. This year, all 4 of their losses, and their 2 wins are all one score or less.

I have no idea what this means. Do they blow leads? Do their comebacks fall short? One constant is Kirk Cousins, the guy who can’t quite do enough at the right time to get the team on a roll in the playoffs. One playoff win in 12 seasons is a pretty small pull seeing he has reached the playoffs 5 times with the Redskins and Vikes. I mean, shit, Purdy has 2 playoff wins in what amounts to 3/4 of one season.

Cousins’ numbers are always fairly spectacular, he likely passes 40,000 yards this season, and he has 7 4,000 yard + seasons under his belt. He has a solid 266/109 TD/INT ratio, 67% completion percentage, and a 97.9 QB rate. These are numbers a lot of teams would KILL for, but the results just aren’t there.

Weird.

The news on our front is good, at least as far as the injuries go. Deebo, Trent Williams, and CMC all avoided major injuries and look to take advantage of the extra day’s rest to get ready for this game in the great white north.

The big question, to me at least, is how Purdy responds to this game. Even in his spectacular game against the Cowboys, he missed his first couple throws. Like the Cleveland game, they were mainly behind his receivers. He reset himself pretty quickly in that Dallas game, but never really did get on track in the shitty weather of Cleveland.

Yeah, it’s a big learning experience for him as he really is green at being a pro and playing in different stadiums in differing weather. He hasn’t even had the luxury of having a training camp as the #1 starter. So, I’m sure he’ll bounce back and put together a great game and the Niners take this one going away. This is my hope anyway.

One thing I wish I would see, and I was saying it last week.

GET MASON IN EARLIER.

And

STOP RUNNING DEEBO.

I still haven’t figured out how to post music video’s with this apple otherwise I would be posting lots of em.

Not worried about the Niners. It was time for us to lose one. I just hope Moody can get back on track.

Youtube works fine to post straight from the site

Make sure you open the song up in Youtube. Then the URL gets shorter.

Damn. That ain’t half bad, Winder. Stevie Wonder is a great addition.

Steve young on KNBR this morning said he wants Purdy to see when he can run the ball when no one is open and the pocket starts to collapse. Steve says in todays NFL the QB needs to take chances sometimes

NO’s offense is just a fucking mess. I thought Carr would do good there, but, man they are nowhere near being in sync. Got 2 turnovers on the Jags side of the field, including the 8 yard line, and got 3 points.

And of course NO comes back. I tell ya, there are so many shitty teams in the NFL these days. Somewhere, Flying V is cursing the ghost of Pete Rozelle.

What really baffles me is the play calling. 3rd and 1 is 999 out of 1,000 a run up the middle. And that play gets stopped about 975 of those 999 tries.

Then again on 3rd and 10 I saw at least 6 tries in this game where both teams took deep shots into tight coverage. Deep in their own territory. Praying for PI is no way to run an offense.

Yeah that was a painful game to watch until the end and even then the TE Dr.Moreau’s island ex Raiders of course dropped the tying TD lol
But hey I got 30 points out of Kamara who catches all the dump offs and still gets the bulk of the rushing as well.
Between OC Carmichael ( who even Carr was bitching at last night) and Steelers OC Canada they are easily the most unimaginative play callers in football imo..

Yeah, the clank at the end was brutal. NO guy was wide open and it was on his hands.

    Doink!

There just seems to be so many mediocre teams these last couple seasons. The false starts, illegal motions, and penalties galore from so many teams is just a drag. Throw in just flat boring play calls and such. The Jags did pull off a cool fake punt with the punter throwing a pass to the gunner.

But teams like the Chargers, the Ram, the Cards, and the Panthers among 10 other teams, just shoot themselves in the feet 10 times a game. Maybe it’s the shorter training camps and no more 2-a-day practices, but man, shit is just sloppy.

Not to good either it looks like LT Trent Williams will not play Monday with his left ankle sprain meaning Jaylon Moore will Slide Over to LT.Good news CMC will play but will he get the huge holes that Williams provided him?

Oh joy. Minnesta has a decent pass rush. At least they did against Chicago.
