Game 6 – Stairway to Cleveland

You don;t need a weatherman to see which way the wind blows, but it’ll be blowing a little bit tomorrow. 15 mph. The rain should hold off till later. So, yeah, we might not make our majic number of 30 points, but if we can just keep the turnovers down, qwe should be able to beat these guys. They are offensively challenged in a big way without Chubb and Watson, and we are gonna get some points.

Never been to Cleveland, I guess seeing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would be kinda cool, even though they are like most other halls of fame, namely retarded. No Warren Zevon? Judas Priest? King Crimson? Nine Inch Nails? Iron Maiden? T-Rex? Devo? Soundgarden? Link Wray? Come on, man.

Anyhow, back to football. Cleveland’s only major advantage is, home field, and they are coming off the bye. Other than that, the Niners should be able to walk away with this one.

28-7 Niners.

    WELL, SO MUCH FOR THAT

Vikings and Bengals, then the bye, the Niners need to be able to win without CMC and Deebo

  3. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Shanahan with some dumb play calling there. Fuck. Burned a whole 9 seconds.

Leaving it up to the defense.

  4. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Well that was shit clock management using nothing off the clock hardly…

  5. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

The Offense and the Defense failed today

  6. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Well, that call on Gipson was ridiculous. That should be reviewable as usual as it would have been 4th and 11. Refs get the win.

  7. Winder's avatar Winder says:

We were bound to have a game like this. Hopefully it makes us stronger.

Good lesson for Purdy. I am more concerned with the Defense, gave up way too many 3rd and long plays. Still had a chance to win, don’t know what happened to Moody, 2 missed FG? The first one okay, but the second one…only 41 yards. I don’t see the Defense doing that again, they will bounce back with a vengeance

    Refs…

      Homer and the whistle 12th
Very questionable calls in several situations but…
      That’s football

    We had our chances.
Can’t leave it on the officials.

  11. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Even with all the bullshit, Purdy did get them in position to win.

Moody just can’t miss that shit.

  12. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Well, at least it’s an AFC team we lost to. Pretty much a failure from every aspect. As great as the Dallas game was, this was awful.

Just try to healthy up and take it out on the Vikings.

  13. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Refs screwed the Niners on a clear sack fumble recovery that would of gotten points and the win before all the other shit calls The Cleveland refs provided..Still Moody needs to make that FG which would of been automatic by Gould

  14. Berger's avatar Berger says:

We saw why they measure QBs hands at the Combine. QBs with small hands have problems in the rain, when the ball gets slick. Purdy did better on the last drive because the weather ad let up and the ball was dry.

  15. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I still think we win the SB this year. All depends on how we come out the gate next game.

  16. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Wow. Jets beat Philly 20-14. Both undefeated teams lose on the road to AFC foes.

Bad day for the offense, but give the Cleveland defense some credit. We knew they were the real deal coming in, and they played that way.

Purdy was off his game, and off target much of the time. That said, he still got us into a position to squeak out a win. When it comes down to the kicker, it’s either a win or a loss. A loss at this point in the season, to an AFC team, is not the end of the world, and I won’t overreact. Hopefully, McCaffrey and Samuel are not going to miss any time. Injuries are always the biggest concern for key players, for any team, no matter how deep we think we are.

The refs had a lousy game. But we also deserved most of the penalties. As I remember Bill Walsh saying, you do not want it left up to the refs at the end of the day. And we did.

Our defense played well, except we couldn’t stop the run, which was a game changer.

Oh, and not to let the offensive line off the hook. They looked, well, mostly terrible. Again, against a really good defense, but still…

Schwartz has owned shanahan. And he did today, in the end. Despite the missed field goal. He looked smug at one point, but credit were credit is due, he out coached shanahan’s offense. A good team overcomes a crappy day to squeak out a victory. And we almost did. But no cigar.

      Onward.

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, I mean, the defense did OK but this offense was playing a backup QB and a backup RB. We got a gift INT early that we turned into nothing.

So many first down penalties and blown plays. The offense had nothing going on past that first drive. They stuffed our runs and took away the short passing game.

Lots of weird games today. Love to see the Giants win this one.

Giants haven’t scored a TD since the Niner game.
