Apparently the Brandon Aiyuk saga will be played out via instagram. In the immortal words of Gil-Scott Heron, the disintegration will be livestreamed. He appears to want to show the world that he is not mentally fit to be playing football any time soon. Let alone physically ready.
He’s tweeting (gramming?) all kinds of mumbly screeds calling the team stupid and scared for . . . for . . . for what I’m not really sure. he said the team ‘took the ball and went home’ when he’s the one who is doing just that. He reneged on a deal he held out for and then signed. BA has burned all the bridges in front of him, behind him, and under him. Then he posts a video of himself speeding past Levi’s stadium at a brisk 104 MPH. That’s some four-dimensional stupidity right there.
(side note – the Santa Clara DA issued an arrest warrant for reckless driving or some shit. 6 months later!)
If he expects the team to do ANYTHING remotely in his interest, he’s deluded beyond belief. The 49ers will likely hold on to him until training camps starts. If he doesn’t make an appearance, the 49ers will commence with the $50,000 per day fines for not showing up to camp. That ought to go over well.
This looks like it will be a media-driven pile of hype-laden shit, but if I’m the 49ers front office, I would just continually say “I hope BA gets the help that he so obviously needs.”
Hopefully the players aren’t dumb enough to let this distract them. As long as he isn’t in the clubhouse getting in the way. He fucked the team and now the team holds all the cards. If i was Peters I would think long and hard about adding him to the roster and I sure wouldn’t trade for him. I am gonna withhold all my positive hope until TC and see what happens then. All I know is that our division is gonna be brutal.
I’m pretty sure the players are ignoring this crap. I mean this goes on all the time, a la Antonio Bryant, Terrell Owens, Ocho Cinco, amid 50 other wide receivers out there over the years. Even Deebo and his scrubbing of his social media accounts, hold out, and departure wasn’t that big a deal to the players inside the building.
Not sure how happy Deebo is in Washington, and his numbers were fairly similar, but hey, he went from a Super Bowl contender to a 5-12 team.
Got to be thrilled with that.
Aiyuk may be in need of some counseling or similar.
Regardless of how PO’d you may be at your employers, if they owe you $27 million guaranteed to be paid if you just SHOW UP in the weight room and get some massages and treatment, wouldn’t showing up and cashing those checks be a pretty good slice of enjoyable retribution/vengeance? Seriously, what “principle” is worth spitting on $27 million essentially just free for the taking?
The dude is now in the dictionary under “stupid”…
BA is on the reserve/left squad list so he can’t just show up to camp or the 49ers facilities. He would have to be reinstated by both the team and the league.
The 9ers hold his contractual rights, but can’t fine him for missing camp days because he’s officially not on the 90 man roster. I think I’m right in saying they can hold on to him all the way up to cut down day which is when they would have to decide to release his rights or activate him.
BA painted himself into a corner and now he has to wait for the paint to dry before he can leave. Social media posts about belts and fear is teenage shit.
BA is just a low IQ person with athletic gifts and not enough brains to make the most of those gifts, he did however manage to fleece the 9ers who should not have signed him for that kind of money in the first place.
Lynch supposedly had a deal in place with the Steelers, but Shanny put the kibosh on it at the last minute.
BA has not been suspended by the league so he doesn’t need reinstatement by the league. I guess they could suspend him regarding the speeding vid, but that seems like a reach.
He does need to request reinstatement from the team. If he doesn’t, he will be fined $50,000 per day for the camp days he misses.
At least I think so?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thats what was the common belief but reporters are clarifying thats not the case.
Barrows who is a solid reporter lined out the facts of the situation which I’m pretty sure he got from the team and now Krueger is saying the same thing too.
BA isn’t suspended at all, not the league or the team.
Damm really sad news Aldon Smith has passed away (apparently DOA at a San Jose Hospital)
For all his off field issues/demons and quite honestly for me was “Who is Aldon Smith? going in the draft, but he was quite the player from the beginning for the Niners especially during the 2012 season when that defense was as good as it gets!! RIP Aldon Sad Day for Niners Nation 🙏🏈
He had all the talent in the world he just had a little too much air between his ears. Way too young to die. RIP. With him and Cowboy on the line and Willis and Bowman in the middle we stopped just about everybody.
I always thought that if Aldon wasn’t into alcohol and drugs, he had a chance to be the NFL all-time sack leader. It used to look like he would just put his arm on an OT and the OT would get pushed aside. His talent was undeniable.
No reason yet given about Aldon Smith passing away. He finished second in Defensive Rookie of the Year honors after ending the 2011 season with 14 sacks and 27 quarterback hits. He had his best NFL season the following year, racking up 19.5 sacks, still a franchise single-season record, and 29 quarterback hits to earn Pro Bowl and All Pro honors.
RIP Aldon
Damn. Lightning in a bottle. Too fast. Too young.
36 ? WTF?
I think I have some shoes older than that.
Pills, booze whatever — that S is going to do you in if you can’t stop over-doing them. Sorry to hear this. What a waste…
I see they put Keaton Winn on the 15day IL with a right elbow strain and called backup useless Tristan Beck( geez how many options does this bum get?)
Yeah Ramos is getting close so you can dump Berticono then, And Gage is close too rehabbing assignment at SJ, you can dump Sanmartin then, as no way they keep 4 lefties in the BP and he has options as well..
I just read a headline that said the Rams have the most expensive defense in the history of the NFL. I did not read the article.

Oops! That was supposed to read, ‘Most Expensive Offense’.
