Nice solid win against a pretty decent team. playing as well as they could. CMC went wild with 106 on the ground + 3 TDs, and 71 in the air with one TD. Brandon Aiyuk had a monster game catching 6 catches, including 2 perfectly thrown deep balls, for 149 yards. Purdy was a flat amazing 20/21 for 283 and a TD, with a rushing TD thrown in there for the final score.
The defense was fairly pedestrian, though. Like we didn’t want to show too much to Dallas. We didn’t blitz, we gave up a 4th and 7 on a Dobbs scramble, and gave up a 4th and 4 on a fake punt. No turnovers generated, 100 on the ground, and 265 in the air. Their one sack, by the Grave Digger, did come at a very opportune time, as AZ was trying to put the pressure on in the 3rd quarter on a 3rd and 8 play near midfield.
Of the 3-0 teams, the Niners won, the Eagles squeaked out a 31-28 win over the Commies in OT, and the Dolphins fell hard vs. Buffalo 48-20.
On the flip side, Minnesota got their first win over the no-win Panthers 21-13, the Broncos eeeeked out a win over the hapless Bears, now 0-4. The only 2 remaining unwinners.
The Rams once again flip-flopped and looked like a decent team, beating the Colts in OT 29-23 after blowing a 23 point lead. McVay is riding Stafford into the ground, but hey, that’s all he trusts I guess.
Seattle looks to go 3-1 as they go against the NY prep-football Giants tomorrow night.
Oh yeah, the Cowboys? Well, they got their ya-yas out after losing to AZ by stomping the living shit out of the Patriots 38-3. Brian Belichick’s worst loss in his history. Jeeeeez, Jac Mones? 12/21 150, 2 picks. Dallas, offense isn’t blowing anyone away as they are 11th in yards, (2nd in scoring), but they are leaning heavily on their defense and are #2 in yards, and #1 in points per game. For compare the Niners are 6th in yards, and 4th in points allowed.
Big early game coming. Fuck Dallas.
The 99 yard drive wa hard to watch. Maybe you are right not showing what the defense is really capable of.
Sad news. Russ Francis, all-pro tight end and 1st round pick of the Patriots in 1975, died in a plane crash. Francis was part of the 1984 Super Bowl team, and was up there with John Riggins as a renegade who marched to his own beat.
Tough as hell and a fun guy to watch play the game.
Francis had 5 catches for 60 yards in Super Bowl XIX, and 186 catches for 2105 yards in his 6 years with the Niners.
RIP, Russ.
Damm I am so saddened by the death of Russ Francis who was one hell of a TE for Patriots and then winning a SB with the 49ers. He was the Kelce of his times and even tougher! He rolled to a different drum( sometimes even driving Bill Walsh crazy lol 😂)and lived life to the FULLEST ALWAYS! RIP Russ 🙏you were great to see at in games at Candlestick..
Yeah, always dug his game. A baller through and through.
Man, the NY Giants are giant steaming pile of shit. Not sure how they came back against the Cardinals.
Francis was a fun player to watch. I guess we should get used to the older players taking their last curtain calls. Time is moving on.
Yeah, but dying in a plane crash is a little different. At least he was doing something he loved to do I guess.
tru dat. dying violently is not the norm.
Die happy
Die quick
Nothing wrong with that in my book.
Russ lived loud and did it his way.
RIP Brother…

Nice, NJ.
Post of the day!
Thanks Chuck 😀
Just hope we’ve figured out the Dan Quinn Plan for Sunday night.
He gave us fits during his reign in Seattle.
Gotta come out with some quick hitters to neutralize Parson’s & Co.
Negate the pass rush and play fast.
Could have impact on post season play for us.
Not to mention, whatever advanced scouting they’ll get from Trey Lance.
Gotta hope Shanny saved a few secrets for this one.
Don’t know how many SF Giants fans are on this page. So I am just throwing this out there
https://www.knbr.com/2023/10/03/analyzing-10-potential-giants-managerial-candidates/
The only problem with this is the fact that Farhan is a lamew-duck GM.
If he goes next year, whoever signs as manager likely goes as well. Which is why it’ll be someone like Wotus or Chick Correa.
So the Giants owners are stupid on two fronts, should have made a decision on Farhans contract before firing Kapler. Second is not having Fahans successor ready to go
Yep. For some reason, they are letting Farhan stay while Kapler gets the heave-ho. I have no love lost for Kapler, but he’s had a shit roster most of his time here.
Texas spends $850 million the last couple years, the Mets spend billions, the Yanks and Pads as well, and the Giants sign Conforto, Haniger, Manaea, and Stripling. Woo hoo! Haniger and Conforto missed a season of games between the two.
To top it off, Manaea and Conforto are gonna opt-out! Hard to rebuild your team when you are signing guys to 1-2 year deals.
Wotus is not the answer, he was passed over several times as a manager from plenty of interviews obviously teams thought he was not their guy.Their is no way he’s hired as manager unless the Giants simply don’t get it and wants a Jimmy Davenport scenario…
Wotus is the perfect answer for a team that is shooting themselves in the feet.
NO good manager is walking into a situation with a lame-duck GM at the helm.
This is gonna be another stop-gap year as Farhan’s draft class is evaluated.
If it sucks next season, Farhan is gone and they shoo him out with the placeholder manager.
