What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is a’Goin’ On Here?!?

Man, I leave the state for a few days to hike around northern Montana, and all hell breaks loose! By the way, Glacier National park is pretty fucking amazing, even if the glaciers are almost gone.

The 3rd round curse continues with the loss of Cameron Latu, our 3rd round kicker is still hurt. Reddit believes that Nick Bosa is about to be traded to an unnamed AFC team, Trey Lance is a Cowboy, dogs sleeping with cats, it’s armageddon time!

Shit, I don’t know. The boatload of promise for this season seems to be hitting rough waters already, and we haven’t even started. Even my favorite UDFA CB D’Shawn Jamison was nabbed by the Panthers off the waiver wire. Puzzling as we always seem to be short a CB or 3 by mid-season. Then again, Jasen Verrett is gone.

Actually, the latest of late news is that Bosa will be “Available for the Pittsburgh game” as a deal is “soon to be finalized.” A couple days according to Jason Dumas, who is pretty solid in his reporting.

Yeah, we’ve had enough drama for the season already. I am pissed about Latu also he dropped a lot of balls in the preseason games but he made some plays too. I wonder who will be our TE on opening day since Kittle is already iffy with his recurring groin. Anyway I am just ready for some ball. I am still uneasy about our FO with the way they handled the Lance situation.

I still think they should have kept Trey, what if Purdy elbow flares up. Then what? Sam is not going to lead this team to the SB.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

That’s what I thought also and Sam will probably get a better situation come next year and will be gone.

Darnold beat out Lance in head to head competition Irish, thats just a fact.
I think he’s going to do well for the Niners if he’s called upon, certainly better than Lance would have done.

Lance doesn’t have the mental capability to read a defense with pre-snap movement etc, know where all receivers are and which is most likely to be open when and where. This base line prep makes him not able to discern the signal from the noise. He is his worst enemy. Cannot build a dynamic O around a flawed QB lacking mental ability. FO had to throw in the towel

Heard it’s only a 4 million gap between BOSA and the organization just get it done! It would be great to get him in for some reps next week before going to Pittsburgh!!

In sad news Jimmy Buffett has died at 76 I was a huge Parrot 🦜 head fan and fortunate to see him many times in the Bay Area he was so entertaining just the perfect partying atmosphere to see in your flip flops 🩴 and Hawaiian Shirt with a Marquita! Yeah, I think the Lance deal was fucked up. I mean really, they got rid of Lance to keep Brandon Allen off the practice squad.

Which is pretty stupid in my book. And given the zero depth on our O line, we look to be letting our QBs get hit too much. Just letting Lance play this year when the time came would have been a better idea.

A question posed since do not view games much anymore. If the qb sees a D that stops the called play, can he audible a new play. Aptitude of players with this seems to be judgeable only by coaches.

  8. Berger's avatar Berger says:

I have a solution to the Bosa situation. Let him sit for 4 or 5 weeks. He gets about a million per game. He won’t get paid for those games and that should free up the 4 million in cap space to pay the difference in what he wants. It should also satisfy his ego that he will still be the highest paid defender. He won’t actually get all the money, but on paper he still has the highest contract. On top of that, it ensures that he is healthy going into the middle of the season.

  9. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Thank God you ain’t running the team, Bergs.

Still and all, pay the guy. Utter stupidity to drag this out like they are.

It makes the organization look like penny pinching fools.

This team is poised on making a very real run at the trophy and they are dicking around with this kind of piddly-ass shit.
