The Bosa Particle

Pay the guy already.

  • Aaron Donald is getting 3/$95 mill. That works out to $31.667 mill a year.
  • TJ Watt is getting 4/$112 mill. $28 mill a year.
  • Brother Joey Bosa is getting 4/$102 mill. $27 mill per.
  • Myles Garrett is getting 5/$125 mill. $25 mill per.
  • Khalil Mack is getting 6/$141. $23 mill per, but his $141 mill total leads the way.

It shouldn’t be too hard to sgn him for 5/$160 mill art $32 mill per season. Joey can’t even stay on the field and he gets a monster payday. Same with TJ Watt. Bosa had the one year lost to injury but otherwise has been there.

My guess would be the sticking points are guaranteed money and signing bonus money. These guys are all over the map. But, lordy, some might big numbers.

  • Donald got $25 mill signing bonus, and a whopping $95 mill guaranteed.
  • Watt – $35 mill, $80 mill guaranteed.
  • J Bosa – $35 mill, $102 mill guaranteed (yikes)
  • Garrett – $21 mill, $100 mill guarantees
  • Mack – $34 mill, $90 mill guaranteed

Shit, Nick may just be going after brother Joey’s signing bonus. Thing is, you really can’t let this guy walk. He’s a generational player, and he should get his one monster deal, and then see where we are come 2028.

Tell ya one thing, the Watt brothers and the Bosa brothers could get together and buy the entire league. Just want this shot done so it isn’t a distraction like the Deebo holdout was last year.

Feels like Rogerrr is channelling Tom Waits.

Call me crazy, but I don’t think they would’ve sold as many copies if this was the original version. I was actually enjoying it until he kept apologizing reading things again, in place of the famous guitar/sax lead. His whispering voice just didn’t cut like a loud guitar. But, it was interesting! I did read something about it around two weeks ago that made reference to Tom Waits. I can see why. Thanks for sharing.

      Very different but nice.

They are not gonna let him walk. Read an article this morning that said that the delay probably also has something to do with his agent. They longer they stretch it out the more frantic the FO will be. Lots of games probably being played here. The only reason I’m not stressing on this is because Bosa loves this team. It will happen.

  3. Flavor's avatar Flavor says:

i think Nick sees this as an opportunity to skip training camp which most players hate anyways. They’ll kick back the fines in some sort of a bonus in the new contract. It’ll all work out I’m not worried at all.

  4. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, Deebo said his holdout had a lot to do with his shitty season last year, but his position demands a lot more interaction with the rest of the team.

Bosa not so much. He’s a training maniac anyway so this shouldn’t be a big deal.

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Beyond that, Bosa’s never been to camp his whole time with the team.

  6. Berger's avatar Berger says:

I remember saying on the blogs that I wasn’t interested in Bosa because he and his brother had injury histories. Then I watched him on video. I immediately changed my mind. He was so dominating I thought, he might get injured but that is a special talent you do not want to pass on. I still can’t believe Arizona did not draft him ahead of us.

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Bosa’s response to them for passing on him is pretty funny.

In Bosa’s pre-draft meeting with Steve Keim and Kliff Kingsbury, he didn’t mince words about the repercussions of passing on him.

“He puts his arm around me (Keim) and Kliff, both of us, in basically a headlock” and he said, ‘I think you guys are going to end up taking that little quarterback, and if you do, Steve, I will haunt you for the rest of your career.’”

And Murray pretty much sucks. So very happy they passed on him.

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

And AZ had just drafted Josh Rosen the year before. Kliff Notes wanted his own new shiny QB and drafted “that little quarterback”. So, TWO dud QBs and they don’t have Bosa. Brilliant.

Like the Charlotte Hornets passing on Steph Curry twice in the 2009 draft. Oooops.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

Yeah at first Murray gave defenses fits until they figured out how to contain him. Kinda like Kap. He’s still dangerous but I think he just might have some deer in the headlight eyes like Young had his last year.

      • Winder's avatar Winder says:

I gotta admit I hate AZ just as much as the Rams and Seahawks.

      • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, they had a spell on us for a few seasons. Like the Rams and Seahawks, we have put that shit to bed.

Now Russell Wilson . . . he’s the last obstacle. Well, that and the NFC Championship game.

        Get it DONE!!!!!!!

  8. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Devastating fires on Maui have wiped out old Lahaina. Got friends out there who have lost their houses on the beach south of Front St. Terrible.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

Yeah, a true nightmare. They don’t have the manpower to contain it. I just hope that most everyone had fire insurance.

  9. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

I’m sure they did. Those houses on Front St are like $4-5 million.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

True but a lot of those burnt out houses outside of front street belong to hospitality workers, local families, and are basically made out of sticks or cement blocks. Fire insurance is usually included with a regular home owners plan. At least it was where we lived but it did not include hurricane insurance which we had to get on top of it. If I remember that meant winds over 70 miles per hour. I just hope people get compensated. With the wind factor it was the perfect storm.

  10. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    You were right, 12th.

Bosa is ready to sign a deal for $168 mill through 2028. Today apparently.

    • 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

Fingers crossed he signs it Chuck and gets into camp. He deserves his money and he will still have an opportunity at a 3rd NFL contract barring injury or a precipitous fall off in his play.

Best D lineman in the game today. Paired with Hargrave and Armstead on the interior that line will dominate, if they get anything at all from the other DE it will be legendary.

  11. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

He may sign it but he won’t come to camp. He and his brother train in Fla.

Would like him around for the 2nd preseason game.

    • 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

I believe TC is mandatory for all signed players. Bosa is racking up fines daily, likely to be forgiven until he signs his new contract, then he has no leverage and his butt has to be in camp like the rest of the players.

  12. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I know it’s the 1st preseason game but it’s still gameday.
