All Quiet on the 49ers Front – Footy Time?

These are the doldrums of the football season. OTAs and mini camps didn’t generate much. Other than the hyperbole around who our QB is, or how we will be trading for Chase Young. Right. We don’t have enough defensive linemen so we will trade for another one? Doubtful. Brock Purdy is apparently cruising along in his rehab and is a little ahead of schedule, so there’s that. The quarterback controversy may not happen after all. But I am glad we have a couple options, seeing as our QB situation is always a bit fluid.

And yeah, the 49ers bought an English soccer team. I guess we really need that kicker pipeline?

Sure, whatevs. I guess they really want to try out the Ted Lasso thing for reals. The team is Leeds United, a team that was recently relegated out of the Premier League to whatever the 2nd tier is. This sounds just like the premise for Ted Lasso. Would we get a comp pick if we send out special teams coach to England?

The only thing I really know about Leeds is of course the Who’s spectacular live album done there.

I have a feeling that in the next 5 or so years much of major U.S. sports will have teams all over Europe and Mexico. Maybe Australia also. It is all about the fucking greenbacks. Never mind all the traveling that teams will have to do. The Niners already have a foothold in Mexico and probably owning a soccer team in GB will give them some play over there.

NFL Europe crashed and burned pretty hard. Baseball I can see getting a little more North American presence (Mexico, Puerto Rico, Quebec again?) but the other sports? I just don’t think it’s logistically doable for either in Europe.

Yeah I remember that. But i think the plan then was more of a minor league system to funnel players. IDK

Yeah, we were in the hills yesterday abd it was pretty windy. Beautiful tho. Thinking of moving up to this area. Somewhere around Eugene maybe.

It’s a pretty nice place to live but it does rain a whole lot up here. The Giants farm tea, the Emeralds are in Eugene. I have been meaning to go and see a game for a couple of years now but I have been basically stuck at home because of family members. Dementia is a real bitch.
