Speaking of Reuben . . .

Well well. The cows have come home to roost. Or something. Reuben Foster’s legal troubles are either being pled down (illegal magazine for assault rifle) or being dismissed, as the domestic violence charge just was today. The GF Elissa Ennis said it was an extortion trip that got out of hand. She wanted to sue privately.

The testimony of the people involved with the case said Ennis did not appear distraught or angry and was very calm and ‘not panicking’ when she asked to use someone’s cell phone to call the cops. She also stole some jewelry and $8,000 in cash after she pled her case.  And please, if Reuben Foster really punched her 8-10 times, she’d likely be dead or in a coma.

Anyhow, his gun charge was reduced to a misdemeanor, this is gone. Maybe the pot charge can be pled down to vaping in public.

That is fantastic news. I am so glad for the organization and Reuben. I hope someone from the team takes him under their wings and shows him how to be a pro football player. He has got to stay away from the fucking weed, he will have plenty of time to smoke it later.

Jed is getting big kudos from the players for abstaining. As well he should. If he learned anything from Uncle Eddie it is that the players come first and foremost.

He also said he would stop all sales of everything during the anthem.

Lynch I’m sure has talked to Foster about getting his shit together.Im also sure he’s mentoring him as much as Foster will listen. All he has to do is show him one Aldon Smith as a guy who had it all and threw it away. Glad this much is over with now.

The pot and gun things are still out there so Herr Goodell may still suspend him for 4.

    Speaking of Jolly Roger . . .\\

  5. rtfirefly says:

Woody Johnson of the Jets said Jets players won’t be punished and that ownership would pay any fines.

I did not expect that from him. I wonder if he’s still drunk over finally having a QBOTF for the first time since nearly ever.

  6. Nipper says:

Foster got lucky with the judge. The DA sure wanted to charge him.

Call me an optimist, but I look for the Warriors to have their most impressive game of the series tonight. Everything went right for them in Games 1 & 3. Their shooting went ice cold in the 4th qtr of Game 4, and their D uncharacteristically broke down. KD shot under 30% for all of Game 4, which just doesn’t happen. Looney was a foul machine which hurt. The Warriors lost a 12 pt. lead in Boston Garden this year (with a lot of help from the refs), but at home and in the 4th qtr?

I look for KD to be more a focal point of the offense to take the pressure off Steph in Game 5, and I expect him to respond. I expect a bloodbath, with the game in the balance till the last 2 minutes. Will Iggy be able to play??? They missed him horribly in Game 4.

    Warriors by 8.

repeatedly cited a lack of evidence against Foster in either of the domestic violence charges. She said she spent the past six days looking at the “totality” of evidence and did not see any testimony or physical evidence that indicated Foster had harmed his former girlfriend, Elissa Ennis.

  9. Lurker John says:

I read today that the weapon charge will be knocked down to a misdemeanor. Foster said he purchased the firearm in Alabama and brought it with him to CA. At the end of the day, he’s probably going to face at least some suspension time (I’m guessing), but this is great news for the team and its fans. With the draftees, Malcolm Smith and Foster, this should be a greatly improved linebacking corps.

If the hyper-ambitious SC DA is still so gung-ho to prosecute, he should go after Ennis for falsely accusing Foster of assaulting her, but there’s no political capital in that move so don’t hold your breath.

Don’t ever dicount Jolly Roger. He’ll get 4 games off. Just for being in the news too much.

    • Winder says:

Yeah, I think so too. It’s possible he might get 6 weeks for the weed and weapons charge

  11. unca_chuck says:

Huh. Jolly Roger is running out of reasons to suspend Foster. Thanks for the heads-up ROB!!!

  12. 12th Man says:

Fosters weed charge dismissed, this kid is a better escape artist than Harry Houdini.

  13. 12th Man says:

The fat lady didnt sing yet. The NFL are still investigating the DV incident even though a judge cleared him for insufficient evidence, the NFL is kinda crazy under Goody:

The NFL released a statement after the judge’s ruling, though, stating its investigation into the domestic violence incident was not over.

The league statement, via The Athletic, read: “We continue to monitor all developments in the matter which remains under review.”

  14. 12th Man says:

What’s the over/under on Fosters suspension?
Put me down for 4 games reduced to 2 on appeal.

  15. Winder says:

    I’ll go straight 4.

  16. Winder says:

Elliot of the Cowboys got 6 games suspended last year and he didn’t get charged in court either.

  17. unca_chuck says:

THe NFL has no business being in the investigation racket.

  18. unca_chuck says:

I wonder though. The pot charge was dropped due to his diversion program

  19. Winder says:

Happy Memorial day weekend all you 49er fans.

    Same to you all . . .

  21. Nipper says:

Of note for this holiday……..Danica Patrick wrecked her Go Daddy racecar on her final race. Goodbye Danica.

  22. rtfirefly says:

Damn that was close! The Rockets were tough!

  23. rtfirefly says:

Biggest Game 7 comeback in any playoffs in NBA history! 17 pts. and on the road, too…

  24. unca_chuck says:

Damn. Dubs Cavs 4 years in a row. Would love to see them start fast or a chance.

    Think this goes 5.

    • rtfirefly says:

It was a mind blowing Game 7. The Rockets missed 27 consecutive 3 pt. shots. That is not a typo. 7-44, 16% saved the Warriors’ butts. You’d think they’d put it on hold for a while after, oh I don’t know, 26 straight misses? Lol

  25. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, that was crazy. Harden was dead tired. As was Ariza. The Warriors looked like they could have played another game. When you lose your legs, you can’t shoot 3s. What I will never understand is why Houston went away from having Harden drive to the hoop. Every time he does that (and just wait till Bron Bron ddoes the same thing), he gets a foul call. Just keep attacking the hoop. Sinple. We would have been in worse foul trouble had they kept up the inside attack.

But they are supposed to be a shooting team, so they kept jacking up bad shots. They did get some good looks, but they shot a lot of contested 3s.

    Warriors Cavs part IV.
