Huzzah! Let the Carnage Begin

Hmmmmm. Couldn’t beat the Cards in our house with their backup QB Drew Stanton going 11-28, so coming in to their house with their team at full strength doesn’t bode well.

The offense at least got some yards last week, albeit against a shitty defense, but you have to look hard for positives. That’s all I got.

Cant even switch over to the Raiders to watch a solid team this Sunday…

You know times are bad when Lurker gives up posting. His optimism was unwarranted completely. He was betrayed and his serious minded thoughts were useless. The only option for posting here is to make fun of the whole mess. Thank you Jed and Trent.

  2. Nipper says:

Self appointed AssHoles on KNBR and boy are they pretentious Asses still sweating KAP’s not voting. Get over it and mind your own business idiots. If they would stick to football it would make sense. But good sense on KNBR with these asses is not possible. Stick to sports, fools. If I wanted KGO I would tune that in. I don’t want anymore election shit……ever.

  3. 12th Man says:

Im taking the Niners by 3.

  4. Irish Kevin says:

The Niners are so predictable!! 3rd and short give it to the RB.

  5. Irish Kevin says:

So what do the Cardinals do to get a 1st down? Pass the ball!!

  6. Irish Kevin says:

The 49ers do not have a passer that can do that touch pass to a receiver!

  7. Winder says:

so much for our fast start.

  8. 12th Man says:

Kap better get his ass in gear.

  9. Irish Kevin says:

Let’s see down by 14, 4 yards of total offense, yeah let’s run the ball!!! Fuck the offensive coordinator

  10. Irish Kevin says:

Wow, amazing what happens when you pass the ball! I guess the OC read my post!!

  11. 12th Man says:

Nice drive, opened things up a bit.

  12. 12th Man says:

    Bad decision on the return.

  13. 12th Man says:

I would like to see Harris run.

  14. Irish Kevin says:

Please please, just close the running book!!

  15. 12th Man says:

love the 4th down call, aggressive!

  16. 12th Man says:

I hate prevent D. Floyd has a cushion all the way down the field.

  17. 12th Man says:

down by 10 but an entertaining first half, competitive, 7 pts off the Kurley turn over was costly.

Usual second half collapse or come back?

  18. Nipper says:

I hate this whole half. The 9ers do the suck routine so well. Of course the second half one can hope for the best and expect the worst.

  19. 12th Man says:

So a quick 3 n out to start the half for Kap, awesome.

  20. 12th Man says:

    Needed that T.O. big time!

  21. 12th Man says:

Finally a deep completion to QP

  22. 12th Man says:

    Dawson MVP

OC has to have a quick outlet guy on 3rd down, made this mistake over and over.

  23. 12th Man says:

Getting lonely being a Niners fan around here.

  24. Irish Kevin says:

Like I said GET RID OF THE RUN PLAYS!!!! They are a waste of a down!!!

  25. Irish Kevin says:

If you want a run play do a screen or a 2 yard pass

  26. Irish Kevin says:

0 pressure on Plamer all game long

  27. 12th Man says:

Another TO and good field position.

  28. Irish Kevin says:

3 take always and they are losing!! Unbelievable

  29. 12th Man says:

D has a lot more energy today

  30. Irish Kevin says:

See, Kap did not need to throw it 100 MPH

  31. Irish Kevin says:

    2nd and 30!!!

  32. Irish Kevin says:

    Take shot here

  33. Irish Kevin says:

    Yep, 100 MPH

  34. 12th Man says:

Needed points off that TO, that could have tied the game.

  35. Irish Kevin says:

The Niners should either be tied or winning this game!

  36. 12th Man says:

Amazingly the run game D has been decent so far today, into the 4th qtr and like you said Kevin they could easily be tied or leading.

  37. 12th Man says:

Not impressed with Hyde today, prefer Harris

  38. Irish Kevin says:

I guess the OC is not reading my post, he is still calling running plays!! Idiot!

  39. Irish Kevin says:

Like I said call screens if you want to run.

  40. 12th Man says:

4 Niners TO today, they have to score off this.

  41. 12th Man says:

I guess they do have a receiver who will lay out. Kurley.

  42. 12th Man says:

    Love it

  43. 12th Man says:

    Don’t play prevent D!

  44. 12th Man says:

Close game, best since game 1

  45. Nipper says:

This was a moral victory……..9ers lost but not badly. Can Jed and Trent sell this?

  46. unca_chuck says:

Jeeez. Gone all weekend, so I just got home to watch the game. The hold on Kilgore was ludicrous. Too many penalties once again. Kappy may not be spectacular, but holy fuck. AZs WRs made spectacular catches all over the field. VMcD, T Smith and Hyde let shit bounce off their hands. Repeatedly. It comes in fast? Boo hoo. Catch the fucking ball.

That being said, believe it or not this is basically Kappy’s 3rd preseason game. He isn’t doing horribly, but he is making tiny progress. Enough? Hard to say. Sure. Why not? AZ has a pretty good D and we didn’t lose by 40. The run D actually showed up for a change, and we got some turnovers. Fricking Eli Harold was holding the edge for the first time in his career.

Still and all, our run game drives me nuts. The read-option HAS to go. All it does is slow the play down and allow for pursuit to stop it. Hit the hole hard and fast. DuJuan Harris would be good in that role.

I’m sure it’s all a pipedream. Bring on New England!

    • NJ49er says:

Once again Chuck, I felt the same way.
Game was tight, we had a little momentum in our favor…..In step the flag throwing zebras to reign it in.
Saw more than a few highly sensitive calls going against us, Kilgore’s being one of them.
Ronda Barber made the same point much of the game. Let Them Play.

IMO, Kaep isn’t smooth in the transition with this Option garbage.
He needs to simply learn to pull off a good old-fashioned ball fake.
He still doesn’t possess the quick trigger to hurt a Defense either.
      Perhaps, he never will.

All in all, I’ll take 7 more weeks of looking respectable, so long as we lose.
Keep the Draft position intact at this point.
I also would go as far to say Jimmie Ward and DBuck held their own vs LFitz and Iupati.
Good showing for the most part and, we hold the Draft slot.

  47. NJ49er says:

Kaep seems to turn sideways during the Option mesh, many times breaking the momentum of the RB looking for the exchange.
    Doesn’t appear fluid to me.
Hyde is rusty certainly but, he needs to take the ball with some steam in his step IMO.
Looked on several exchanges to me, that he had to take a split second to concentrate on where the ball was going to be delivered from Kaep.
For a RB to get into the OL and find a crease, it needs to occur much quicker.
Just seemed out of sync to me, not only with Hyde but Harris on occasion as well.

  48. Nipper says:

Trent says blame him for the Niners decline. Take him at his word and start new bags with “Blame Trent” on them. Hey if he wants the blame who are we to argue?

  49. unca_chuck says:

Another thing is, Kappy does pretty good throwing on the move. Do we do that? Ever? Only when plays break down, and the one 3rd down throw to Kerley on 3rd and 1.

We pound the read option into the ground but don’t do things that actually work over and over.

We did get a 1st down on 3rd and 1 with a run up the middle. I think that was the first time this year.

  50. unca_chuck says:

And really, WTF with Torrey Smith? He had a wide open field in front of him on the crossing route.

    • Nipper says:

That makes too much sense. Chipper is a pile soft blubber on the sidelines. Of course Trent picked him to be coach and Jed was grateful someone else made a decision. Jed was too busy with his neighbors to lead anyone.

  51. 12th Man says:

Nipper was right, where is Lurker John? We are counting on you keeping up morale here John!

  52. Berger says:

I’ve been saying we’ve been using our D-line incorrectly all year. Look what happens when we attack with them. We stop the run on a very good runner. We were using them to push the O-line back instead of standing them up and reading. We even shot some gaps.

Our D-line is quality and should be used to help attack instead of just being pawns on a chess board. My thoughts during the game was maybe the change was because the DC was upstairs in the booth were he could see how bad his play calling is. I know I’m being sarcastic with the last remark but maybe it’s true?

    • Nipper says:

The DC should stay up there and smoke some grass. Perhaps in a cloud of smoke he would come up with decent plays.

  53. unca_chuck says:

I have no idea Bergs. This team rivals last year’s in their ability to look semi-coherent one week and then look like a middle school pop warner team. Putting a few games together would help. Unfortunately we have New England next. Eli had a very good game and actually set the edge for the first time in his life.

Playing decent on the road in AZ is no small feat, but fucking Palmer is a joke, and AZ went away from the run for no particular reason. Still and all, we went meekly into that good night on that last drive. The lack of pressure is a constant problem.

  54. Winder says:

Brady will eat us up. AZ is almost as bad as us. That’s why we actually looked ok at times we were playing another poser team. Our team sucks wind and I’m still not sure why people haven’t been fired yet. At this point there are no moral victories. Kap made a couple of decent throws but he still showed his flaws through most of the game. We need a QB with some touch and one that has the ability to read defenses. Hyde is just wasted space and should be let go or be demoted to 3rd string. The 49ers are in total disarray. I know most people here are looking for all the bright spots they can find and as fans that’s what we do. This team needs to start over and it starts at the top.

  55. Winder says:

feel like a little Hendrix this morning

  56. Nipper says:

Another day of Jed and Trent ball. Damn they suck. How can people making money off sports fans suck so bad? How did they arrive at their positions in life? What did they know that advanced them to positions of power?

  57. Irish Kevin says:

13 point underdogs for this weekend??? when was the last time that happened

  58. Nipper says:

Another day in the world of SUCK. Yorks please sell you fools. Get your pathetic Jed out of California. He belongs in Youngstown. If he had anything on the ball he would have shown it by now. Red and Gold my ass. Toilet paper is worth more.

  59. unca_chuck says:

Come on Nipp. Gimme a woof. New thread is up.
