All-Time Post of Forever (#1)
NJ49er
says:
September 7, 2011 at 7:40 pm (Edit)
I see this Season starting with lots of motion and ground attack.
Our OL is going to take time to adjust to the new system, however, a WCO should help them once Alex and the WRs get into the necessary rhythm.
Game 1, lots of Gore and Hunter, 9ers win a close one. I do expect Harbaugh to take some deep shots though, VD and Braylon will be a nice duo.

Brennan with a brisk .095 batting average before that K.
Why does an outfield of Mays,Maddox,Bonds,Matthews
sound so much better than E-7E-9 Rodriguez,Walter Brennan,Pelvic Thrust Gilbert&Fader Bader??
I am going to call the Giants “twelve.” Giants dozen hit, dozen pitch, dozen steal bases, dozen do anything.
Lqtm ..Atleast The Dirty Dozen gave us plenty of Action..
Lulz…
Adames is adept at coming through in the clutch when there is no RISP, no pressure. A meaningless solo HR.
7-5 just as good as 7-4.
Again, the Giants make “It” look easy — to lose…
Estes saying what you’ve been saying, this team is 0 for 20 something games, insofar as coming back, when the other team has the lead.
I think it is now at 25 in a row. Down heading into the 7th, they’ve lost every such game this year. Absolutely pathetic, and NOTHING LIKE IT !
We coulda, shoulda, woulda in the 5th, where we had the bases loaded and Devers (as I noted above) challenged the wrong ball . . . and was KOed on the next pitch by the ump (which was a ball). Anyway, we were only down 1 run at that point, where we should have taken the lead.
Sheesh, no idea what Buster can do? Much less V, except shuffle the deck chairs again.
Ironic that you said that . . . Woman reporter (Slusser???) asked V why Adames is coming up short when at bat, with runners in scoring position? Those were NOT her exact words, but that was her drift.
V blathered on, mostly answering that “. . . players are pressing.”
Pressing for two months? Yeah, the Giants management is now down to the ol’ “they’re trying TOO hard” excuse. You know it’s bad when that keeps getting pulled out of the hat…
Heading into the game tonight the Giants continued to be the worst team in baseball at drawing walks.
Second worst — the Rockies.
The Giants were 40, that’s FORTY, walks behind the Rox. Isn’t that something like 10 or 12 games worth of walks worse? Amazing stat…
3 tonight. All Chapman.
Maybe he’s decided his goal is to take as many walks as possible since he can’t hit. If so, I’m down with that …
Apologies… Anyone not interested in the prostate conversation should read no further. Had a bit of a setback with the kidney surgery so was out of commission for a couple days, but just a bit more about my prostate experience (results of which won’t actually be known for a couple weeks). When my problems started nearly two years ago… bad problems with urination and ejaculation… it appeared it was because the prostate overall had swollen to the point of pressing against the bladder and urethra. Doc said at that time to try meds but it would likely require surgery eventually to actually cut a piece of it off to reduce its size. That didn’t interest me one bit, so tried meds all this time. Maybe they helped a little at first, but in the end, not so much.
New doctors discovered the problem was that the part of the prostate that actually surrounds the urethra (a river runs through it kind of thing), was choking the urethra with loose tissue matter. They offered 2 options: one (I forget the name) involved implanting a permanent device to keep the urethra pried open. The other, which is what I just had, is called Rezum and involves inserting a catheter up your urethra into the bladder and then injecting steam into the prostate around the urethra, thus dissolving the tissue matter so it exits the body, leaving the urethra clean and open. Sound like fun yet?
Well tomorrow I finally leave the hospital with the kidney supposedly all better but still sporting the bladder catheter another week or so to finish clearing out the prostate-throttled urethra. Just hoping for the best. Amazing how common prostate problems are. Who the fuck invented the damn thing anyway… On we go.
Paul, neither option sounds fun. You’re probably exhausted. If you want to chat, give me a shout on Messenger (almost have my daughter out the door for school). If you’re about to hit the sack, I will send a text my evening when you wake up.
Comeback or not, Mahle gave up 3 runs, Winn the one unearned. Then Miller/Borucki worked 3 innings/3 hits/3 BBs/3 runs. Giants scored 5…maybe holding off DBax instead of these gas cans igniting the flame could have yielded different result.
I’ve seen suggestions that not everything Vitello does is entirely his own idea (like never trying to steal a bag), but whomever is telling him these 2 can help hold down the other team needs to be ignored.
Speaking of which, as mentioned above by James it was none other than Bochy who vouched for Mahle. yikes
Lefty 2 Guns vouched for Donnie Brasco. How’d that work out?
Tessio at the Don’s funeral talking to Mike.
Yeah and in Rounders Mike McDermott (Matt Damon) vouches for his reckless poker buddy The Worm (Edward Norton) how did that workout?
Bochy Vouches for Mahle and the whole organization bought in along with Houser! We’re going the cheap route since no pitchers are any good at AAA right now..
Best they can do right now imo for Starters is Webb,Ray,Roupp,McDonald,Houser, To the BP for mopup roles goes Mahle to join pathetic Borsucki to join the “Mopup Gang” which they have plenty of..
And why carry 4 LHP Relievers? Only need 3..Gage,Hentges,Miller not POS Borox Borsucki! And 3 Catchers and trying and failing to make Rodriguez an outfielder?
Then of course the Outfield easily the worst in the Bigs enough said!!Pelvic Thrust Gilbert,Gramps with a hitch Brennan? (.065) Bertcotto? Oh wow got his 1st hit so that makes him better than Brennan average wise! Its just a huge Clusterfuck every game to watch..
One of my favorite lines in movie history. Reading the youtube comments, ‘cannoli’ wasn’t scripted. It was improvised by Richard Castellano.
This one wasn’t scripted either. Just phenomenal…
Yeah classic. Friends of mine used to run movie every Thanksgiving iirc. Always spot something unique every time…Don playing with the cat wasn’t in script either but it hung around stage iirc and Coppola said it was OK.
Tampa Bay is now 34-18. Leading the AL East, 3rd best record in all MLB. Headed for the playoffs, again. In arguably the toughest division in MLB over the long haul. Giants, well you know where they are.
The Rays have a crap stadium, a listless fanbase, and revenue far far less than the Giants. Yet, 2017 and onward, the Rays have been to the post season 5 times, including the WSeries in the Covid year. And in 2018, they had a fine 90-72 record, a playoff team, but missed the playoffs because they’re in the AL East.
So, how do the Rays stay competitive for a playoff spot more often than not? They continually sport a conga line of young MLB players they draft and develop. Compare this to the Giants, by all rights, a team in a different galaxy of assets and wherewithal — they can’t phucking develop more than one all star outfielder in 40 years, and have missed the post season in all but one outlier year from 2017 onward?
Whatever management, scouting system and development team the Rays have, the Giants should either copy it or buy it and move it all to SF and Scottsdale. It is embarrassing and shameful how badly the Giants organization with all its advantages has been run this past decade. Until the Giants so called top prospects in AA and high A prove themselves at Oracle, I’m hoping, but not believing any of the hype on them.
Yep, Snarkk, per that list above, EVERY team in the league is better than the Giants in drafting. And we are last by a country mile.
Not to mention the A’s, who are clearly far better than the Giants at consistently drafting and developing talent the last decade than the Giants. All with a dick as an owner, a pissed off fanbase, and the franchise in the middle of moving out of town through SAC. If the A’s had the money the Giants had, they’d be amazingly successful, instead of being the supply train of talent to other teams in MLB.
That about sums up the season.
More comical baseball by the Giants unbelievable but true ..Adames double followed by Arreaz single and Borg with his usual stupid move sends him and he gets thrown out at the plate, and let’s not forget Arreaz gets picked off 2nd for the last out down 1 so inning was a wasted opportunity of retarded baseball..
Wow.
Though we might find it near impossible, Giants finding yet more idiotic ways to lose. This may be the stupidest, certainly the worst, baserunning team in MLB. How can any team be worse?
I want to see replay of whether our buddy Hector Borg should have stayed in Puerto Rico, but instead blew yet another send — this time of Adames. Sounds from Miller on radio like that. Whatever. Then, Arraez as potential tying run gets immediately picked off second with Schmitt standing in the batter’s box.
If Vitello doesn’t go off on somebody, he’s not managing, he’s babysitting or afraid of acting like a manager.
And the Sweep is complete 0-6 against them what a joke!Real teams like Dbacks don’t do stupid shit like this bunch 0-29 now from 7th inning on yikes no comebacks for them ALL YEAR! Fucking Borg fires his ass and just put Wotus there it can’t be worse.,
Arraez, Chapman, Adames, Schmitt and Devers. 1 for 20. Nice.
MacDonald was good, almost really good. Didn’t deserve to lose. No way this guy gets sent down, I think. If he does, though, that would be consistent with how the Giants roll.
More Keystone Kops in the field (unearned run by Gage’s oopsy) and on the bases. In the 8th the Dbacks handed a golden opportunity to the Giants, and SF just immediately pissed it away. Hector Borg must have photos on somebody in management.
Dbacks are gonna miss playing the Giants. Dbacks are a team I like to see play. Smart, clutch hitting, smart base running, pressures the defense, excellent D, very good team speed. Some pop, too. Pitching good enough to let the offense win games. Everything you want to see in the Giants, but is completely absent.
Seriously, 1/3 of the season now over, this Giants team is beyond just playing badly, it’s just plain bad.
Blow this S up, stat …
My bad. Need new glasses, I guess.
The big 5 went 5 for 20. Arraez had 3 hits. Adames 2, Gilbert 1, everybody else — zilch. Too bad they will need to trade Arraez, but he’s valuable and they need good prospects, and no guarantee he would stay if they keep him past the deadline. If I were him, no way I’d sign with the Giants and avoid FAgency. This team is a long way from competitive.
Giants now 12 games underwater, heading out for a long 10-game roadie. They could easily end up 15-16 underwater by the time they come back. This trip decides everything. If they come back unquestionably in a free fall season, all bets are off for Posey going wild in trades. I heard today Ray is not eligible for getting the Giants a compensatory pick if they keep him the rest of the year and then he leaves for another team. Another reason why Ray has to go.
Missed the game . . . Again, under .400 (.393) record. Saw some hi-lights and read the recap.
I miss Matt Williams and that’s saying something. Yeah, someone, anyone – needs to have a “chat” with this entire team.
Man, there really is nothing that can save this team for the foreseeable future.
Buster’s drafts have a couple years before they get here and what else do we have? gatorade baths once a week for a win?
As we’ve been beating into the ground for oh, the past 5 seasons, this team does not field, run, hit the rogjt cut-off man, or do very many things fundamentally sound. I mean really. Through 3 regimes, the same ineptitude with the call-ups.
Kind of a drag. I guess Flav timed it out pretty well!!!
Hey!!! OTA’s are starting!!!!!!
It ain’t too early for football!!!!!
Niners luck it’s raining in south bay this morning.
Pics in Chron today of Caitlin Clark (in black Giants cap) Podz, and Baer. Her team plays GSV tonight. Hella skilled player but man total drama queen on the court. What bugs me about that is millions of girls adore her, and she needs to set better example than waving her arms around every time she doesn’t like call on the floor.
Last game vs. GSV she was called for D foul (and she’s terrible d player to begin with) and pointed at the other end, like they did it to me and you didn’t call anything. stfu and just play.
What do you guys think?

Me? Good points by both sides. However, I am getting sick and tired of the Dodgers “buying” playoffs and World Series. Yes, as a couple of folks commented here today, as well as in the past – the Giants ownership and management are beyond incompetent, or why else have we been no better than a .500 team 9 out of the last 10 years?
This latest counter proposal from the players union would allow the Dodgers an additional $70 million dollars. Go through it with a fine tooth comb and I am certain that it does diddly squat to address competition between the “haves” and “have nots.”
Say what you will about LA buying wins, they have drafted very well over the years.
And traded those picks well.
The deferring of contracts for 20 years should also be addressed.
Ludicrous.
