Still Waiting, Still Dreaming . . .

. . . for offensive line help. At this point I’d be thrilled if we signed a center. They look to rol with the rookie Willis at LG so I guess that fixes that? Man, I don’;t’ know.

It smacks of the Giants signing Mahler and Houser and calling their rotation fixed. Or banking on Walker saying he fixed his closer issues.

There are hopes. And there are prayers. We need to do more to the O line.

Seems the Niners figure most O line draftees aren’t very good their rookie year, regardless of round their drafted in, so they aren’t going to waste high picks on them. Which I don’t get, given that other teams regularly plug n play O line high draft picks. Or, am I wrong in that, Chuck?

Especially since they are paying Purdy $53 million/year to stay on his feet, not get clobbered by some 285 pound D end or a bull rushing 315 pound D tackle …

Susan Slusser, who I often take with a grain of salt, said some things on KNBR this morning that are revealing. She said it’s a no-brainer that if the Giants don’t climb out of it very quickly with at least a .600 clip, if not above in the next month, they trade both Arraez and Ray for prospects. It would be organizational “malpractice” not to do both, given their expiring deals.

Also, after yesterday’s latest loss, in the club house the media scrummed around Roupp to talk about it. Meanwhile, before the press could get to him about his huge error that avalanched the loss, Giants’ leader/clown Adames hurried up, dressed and bolted before the press could get to him. Lameass move for a “leader”. You make that much cash, you wear your mistakes. You don’t let your teammate take all the heat, when lot of it is attributable to you. Slusser said that doesn’t normally sit well with teammates. Duh. Adames leads MLB shortstops with 11 errors, and is in the bottom third of SS defensive stats. The Giants can’t dump this guy fast enough, IMO.

Slusser says Schmitt could be a gold glove and All Star hitter 3d baseman for some team if he could stay in that position. I hope that isn’t lost on Posey and his minions. Unfortunately, Chapman is nearly untradable with that massive contract and he’d have to OK a trade, anyway. Buster needs to make a bold move or two, and I think he will.

Super Bowl Win, Purdy Please
