The Taxi Squad is Here . . .

TAXI SQUAD
Maximum of 10 players

  • WR           Dres Anderson
  • OL             Alex Balducci
  • OL             Fahn Cooper
  • TE             Je’Ron Hamm
  • CB            Prince Charles Iworah
  • OL             Norman Price
  • LB             Marcus Rush
  • LB             Shayne Skov
  • RB            Kelvin Taylor

I’m glad they were able to keep Skov, Rush, Hamm, Anderson, and Taylor. All of those guys showed something promising. I’m a little surprised Rush wasn’t snapped up by someone. He may be undersized and one-dimensional, but he showed a very quick burst to the QB and caused disruptions on passing downs. Hamm has nice hands, as does Taylor out of the backfield. Dres? Made a nice adjustment on the TD pass from Ponder. He must be showing something in practice. Same with Harper and the linemen. Hey’ I’m just glad to see Pears gone.

I’m actually mildly impressed with Balducci actually.
Like Bruce, some of these Defensive conversion guys might just pan out.
Gotta get the QB/WRs to click sooner than later too.
    Be it Gabbert/Kaep or Ponder.
Hoping Chip can get these up to speed and save the Defense from dragging their tongues in the 2nd half of games/season.

Here is the song that was originally picked to be the song for Taxi. This is called Touchdown. Angela ended up being the song. It was originally supposed to be a song played on the third episode but was changed before the series started.

Your missing Balducci off the PS list Chuck.

In other news, the trade of DB Lj McCray to the Squawks is off, he failed his physical.

  4. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Updated the list. . . .

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The playpen was very up in arms about that trade. Of course they’ll be up in arms about it failing now.

    • 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

The trade made sense, better to get a late round pick than nothing and they could sign him anyway.
Not sure if the league gives a roster exemption while they figure out what to do now he is back with the team.

  6. 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

ROB!!!! they signed RB Harris to a 1 year contract, you got your man!!!!!
Will Redmond to IR, yet another ACL warrior gone down. This one Baalke was very confident would be available to play this year, oops.
Does anyone think the Niners could afford to lose their 3rd round pick this year?
Sorry, but this ACL gamble has not worked, over and over. One or two successes is not enough return.

    • NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

I’m thinking this Redmond move is one for protection of a Roster Spot 12th?
Maybe they feel good about the DB situation without him?
Might have to IR McCray too if they want him back?
Curious enough to follow/understand but, IR does keep the roster openings, for whatever plans they’re attempting to make?

      • 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

All of that is true NJ, but what it amounts to be is no 3rd round pick this year.

They could have taken a WR or an OLB for instance, a healthy player for this years team.
Instead we get another ACL guy on IR. A 3rd round guy is expected to contribute right away, he was the Niners 3rd player chosen, this team can’t afford a next year gamble from such a high pick, they needed good players this year.

Who knows, maybe next year Redmond is a world beater, but he is just as likely to be nothing special, even cut.

This ACL shit is costing the team. There is a reason no other GM is doing what Baalke is doing, at least to the same extent.

I am glad we got those guys back also. I do wish we would have picked up a QB though instead of Harris. O’well what do I know.

    • 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

They don’t have a rookie QB but they do have Ponder. He may turn out to be decent, even a trade value. He is still only 28.

I don’t expect too much out of Gabbert, a few losses and him keep throwing short, playing it too safe and not trying hard enough to win, will see him getting splinters in his ass.

Then its Kap if he is still on the team or Ponder. All of them have a lot of game experience, it takes time for some guys for the light to go on. Rich Gannon is a great example of a QB finding his greatest success late in his career.

I prefer a development QB because they are usually on the PS not the 53, but in this particular season, with Gabbert and Kapernick as 1 and 2, having an experienced 3rd option on roster makes sense to me.

I think I will just call Gabbert and Kapernick, Gabbernick from now on.

Damn the bad news just keeps on coming.

  9. 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

This reporter says the Niners have only 1 ACL warrior on the 53, Tank Carradine, and he has yet to prove his worth in games but does look much better this year.
The writer says the Niners took 7 ACL guys, I read somewhere else it was 8 but either way, 1 out of 7 is some bullshit.

I just can’t believe this news about Miller. Where were the warning signs? lulz…

  11. 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

At least management were decisive with Miller, he is released from the team. About time they showed who is in charge.

  12. 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

Good player, too much red hair I guess.

  13. Winder's avatar Winder says:

Maybe we will pick up a QB now.

  14. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

Does anyone know Redmond’s situation? He looked fine in the last game. And Miller, WTF. Assaulting an old man? Broken bones? Dude’s out of control.

    • 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

Redmond looked OK to me too, he either isn’t fully back and needs more time or they are stashing him on IR because he wasn’t able to outplay the guys in front of him. Either way he is a bust this year.

  15. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

If Miller was a TE, they could bring up Je’Ron Hamm. The roster still had him listed as a FB (Miller).

To be or not to be on the 46 for next Monday – that is the question.

  18. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

Once Eddie D uttered these words, “He’s gone!” So many years later Miller punches his way off the team.

This Niners outfit Soooo doesn’t remind me of the Glory Days. This team, this organization and ownership — they are not easy to root for nowadays…
