Hah! The good old days. Our Serra Senior Cut Day (1979) took place at the Pulgas Water Temple on Canada Road out there by the Crystal Spring Reservoir. Turns out San Carlos High had the same idea, so naturally a near riot ensued. To the point where one of the Serra football players, in a standoff with a San Carlos guy, decided to show how tough he was by breaking a beer bottle over his own head.
Of course he started bleeding profusely, and some pushing and shoving happened, and 30-40 dudes were just tumbling around the parking lot. Us loadies of course were over by the reflecting pool playing frisbee, getting stoned and drinking our own beer, and generally staying out of the mix.
Being veterans of any party where more than 5 guys from Serra showed up to a party, the cops arrived. But we were already on our way to Half Moon Bay with 2 baggies full of shrooms and enough partiables to get through the day.
Sad thing is, that riot pretty much closed the Water Temple Parking lot, and the county put up No Parking signs a mile in each direction from the parking lot. I think that lot was closed for 15 years.
Anyhow, speaking of cuts, we don’t have a punter or long snapper. But I guess we have a few more guys to IR to clear space for them. I’m sure Week the LS is gonna be fine, but someone might pick our punter just to fuck with us.
Anyhow, here’s the list as it stands now. But there will be changes.
I really thought one of the 3 LBs (Wallow, Gifford, Martin) wouldn’t make it. But I think that is insurance for Greenlaw. Cowing AND Watkins also made the grade. Watkins showed out pretty well in that Raider game.
M Williams and I Guerendo are on the PUP list along with Pleasants and Pearsall. I guess the good news is Kittle and Bosa are not on it, but whether they play or not remains to be seen. Frankly I’d spare Bosa the 32 hours of plane travel, but I don’t get to make that call.
The punter and long snapper are vested vets, not exposed to waivers so they become free agents able to sign anywhere but can’t be taken.

Yeah I was at San Carlos High 71-74 and it was wild times for sure 👍 I was actually part of the 4 man Nude Relay Teams( bathrobes then drop your jocks & rock the school annually had with of course no permission and ditching cops and helicopters and driving around secretly looking for the best spot.One year at Marine World nice track! Another on Canada Rd ending at Pulgas Water Temple!!

Yeah, had a few friends at San Carlos high who i did a lot of skiing with.
Canada Rd was the best place to party as it wasn’t regularly patrolled.
One funny night I was with a girl at the VIsta Point by the reservoir and I could see a cop coming down the road. I told her ‘ditch the beer’ so we both opened our doors and put them under the car. Derp.
Cop gets out and says, wow, you must be a great driver. You managed to pull into this parking lot without running over those 2 beers under you car.
He said pick’em up, dump ’em, and throw ’em away. I’ll be back in 10 minutes and I want you and the beer cans gone.
Almost died one night at the 280 Vista Point south of 92.
IMO the first game usually is pretty sloppy and a lot of times they are blow-outs. And being the fucking Rams means it’s a very important one. I kinda wish we started out with just about any other team. Close to rubber hits the road time. Seems like it’s taken forever to get here.
Well, last year’s Seattle game kicked off the season with a bang. They rolled early despite the boatload of injuries. I hope hope hope we can do something similar.
A lot comes down to Bosa’s effectiveness. Or availability.

Granted I have higher hopes for this offense. Stribling is gonna play a much bigger part than I had hoped for, but as long as he gets it done we should be fine. Black looks like an actual stud so the hope is he can meaningfully spel CMC.
The D should be better. We may give up some big plays, but what drives me nutty is the 15 play drives we routinely gave up these last few seasons.
Yeah. This has been an offseason for the ages. Like Hunter said “when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.” And Jed almost found a pro.
Miami, AZ, Washington, and Atlanta should all be fairly easy wins. I don’t believe Denver is as good as they think they are, so there’s just the Rams and Seattle games that look the most challenging.
5-2 at the bye would be nice, but if we lose both those division games, it’ll suck.
Anything lower than that and we may be in for a long season.
BTW, 75-79 at Serra. Bonds was there 78-82. Saw him hit the Shane Company building across the El Camino from Central Park baseball field in San Mateo when he was a freshman.
I actually don’t have a clue. I figure if McCaffrey stays healthy we are in every game. Should be fun.

I hope the team and particularly Bosa and Kittle are going 1st class . . . During my around the world trip in 2013, I went to Australia and New Zealand to start off my trip. Brutal . . . and I was 13 years younger then. More than likely, they will have a short stop in the Fiji islands (unless they are going private). Regardless, the trip to Australia is about 1.38 times longer than the trip to Great Britain. Direct flight will be about 15 hours.
Prolly a charter so, non-stop. They are saying 15-16 hours.

yup non stop charter Airbus 380, the bad boy of the skies. 14 first class and 70 business class all lay flat seats, everyone else either in economy plus or poor boy economy for 15 hours!
my longest flight has been 13.5 and thats a long ass flight itself, of course I wasn’t sitting in a lay flat which Im sure helps for the players, senior coaches and execs.
Flew to Japan when I was a kid.
12 hours in a 707. Even as a kid it felt like i was inside a cigar tube. Tiny little thing.
