Green By the Game Day Bay

The Packers have winged their way to the city by the Bay. San Jose, that is. No word on who’s starting tonight, but I’d think Colin Kaepernick  would be. If only to give him fresh time with the ones. I guess we’ll find out soon enough but it would be cool to see Kaepernick continue his ownership of of the Cheeseheads. He had his best passing game as a pro way back in  2013 opening day when he threw 27-39 for 412 yards, 3 TDs, and a fairly astounding 10.5 yards per attempt. This of course was Colin’s last best season as he threw for 3200 yards, 21 TDs to 8 picks, and got one play from his 2nd consecutive Super Bowl.

We of course beat them in the 1st round of the playoffs as CK had a more pedestrian outing that night, going 16-30 and 227 yards, and 1 TD, 1 pick. Of course, that was Ice Bowl 2 as the wind chill was 50 below.  Even the year before, Kappy had what was an amazing playoff game passing and running. Throwing for 17-31, 263, 2,1, and an NFL record 181 yards rushing for a total of 444 yards.

Can he find the magik again? Let’s hope so. The season may depend on it.

95 yards total offense for the first half!! Not good! Going to be a long season

Dial reportedly has a knee. This is what I hate about the long preseason, the injuries.

  3. Berger's avatar Berger says:

Gabbert will start week 1. Kap looks lost but the whole offense did when he went out there, Not sure what that was about Wilhoite is not looking good, Armstrong is looking great. Tank misdiagnosed a running play but he sure makes up for it by being a 1 man wrecking crew. O-line doesn’t look so good this week. The biggest issue for me is the D is not getting off the field on 3rd/4th down. Wilhoite not filling the hole caused two of those. Bowman would have been there. Too many players going down today. Redmond was in the game.

Tank had 2 bonehead plays first 1/4, hands to the face penalty 2nd and 20 and went inside on the run play and lost contain on the edge. Made up for it since though.

Current pecking order of 49ers Three Stooges Quarterbacks, current and/or former…

    1) Moe: Alex Smith
    2) Larry: Blaine Gabbert
    3) Curly: Colin Kaepernick

Poor Curly. He’s only hope is to shuffle up those numbers and try again…

  5. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

    Is that THE Dennis?

  6. 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

Was hoping to see Rush out there.

  7. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

This is fucking ridiculous. And fuck Mike McCarthy.

  8. Dennis's avatar Dennis says:

Kap couldn’t beat out Blaine fucking Gabbert in the QB competition.

That’s equivalent to Marilyn Monroe losing out to Olive Oyl in swimsuits.

    He’s done. Let it go.

27 minutes to about 9 for the Niners. 57 plays to 20 for the Niners. Unbelievable.

  10. 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

Smokin Joe Callahan. How many 4th downs can he complete? The D just can’t get off the field 3rd and 4th down.

  11. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

    I think it’s 5 for 5 on 4th down.

  12. Berger's avatar Berger says:

This was the frustration I had with Fanzio’s defense. They play tough but can’t stop 3rd down.

  13. 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

Talk about frustrating, I’m watching this on NFL game pass who are broadcasting it with Packer TV. Seriously sick of hearing how great the Packers are playing.

  14. 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

Gabbert is the starter. Kap looked much like last year, lost at the snap.

Right.nthat 5 minute drive took an hour.

Pears is no back up LT, got beat right off the bat.

  17. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

Driskel did, on the other hand, look good, but 3 dropped passes tanked his drives.

  18. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

    Rush!

    • 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

beat the chip double team for the sack and held the edge in the run play before that.

he needs to move up the order.

      • Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

Absolutely. I don’t know in what capacity he makes the team, probably ST, but he’s another talented young guy on this team. I saw earlier also, that Eli Harold has really put on some muscle in the off season. Amazing what a year of good food and professional strength training can do for a guy.

      • 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

Yeah Harold is having a good pre-season.

  19. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

Driskel looks like the backup to me right now. Decisive in the pocket, keeps his eyes downfield and has great feet. He also looks pretty good in the read option. Accurate and strong arm and no fear in his game. I know he’ll likely end up on the P.S. but he looks like a keeper.

    • 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

Ahead of Kap? Nah. He does look better each week but its walmart brigade defense.

      • Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

Yeah, but Kap didn’t look good at all. He’ll get more chances, but he needs to start showing some progress. I saw nothing different from last year.

    Christ, 8 of 9 on 4th downs?
