Good News (?)

Well, maybe. Depending on how you want the season to go. Me, I’m of a mind to play this shit out and see where we go. The news is that both Carlos Hyde and Anquan Boldin both practiced today and will play this Sunday in Seattle. Yes, Blaine Gabbert is our QB, and Jimmy T went no furthur than this game to say who his QB is.

This season is halfway down the tubes, but really all I want to see is some decent football. As much shit as this team has gotten for the thousands of problems, this team, like last year’s has been hit by a ton of injuries. And it hit the offense this year. Throw in an inconsistent line and an inconsistent QB and you have a mess.

Guess we’ll see how Gabbert does against a better defense than the one he faced. The big question is, well it ain’t that big, but it does have ramifications, what happens if these guys start winning under Gabbs? What if the team makes an improbable playoff run? Do we stick with the coaching staff and front office? Gabbert? Hah!

I seriously doubt it happens, but we’ll see. That’s why they play the games.

Bakkentom-Bullit says we’re all doomed. Kaput! Even Winder can’t save us. BOO-HOO…….

Kilgore is coming back. Tiller is taking more snaps at RG.
Even more interesting is trent Brown got a few in vs. Atlanta.
We should see some better play from our O line now

an improbable playoff run? You baiting Denny or Spitty or one of those tools? I’ll watch all the rest of the games but if I want to see good football I’ll load up one of my daily fantasy teams with Pats or Panthers and watch their games…..

chuck, one of the things I liked about your tone when all heck was breaking loose this past year was that, in the end, no one knows. will the new coaching staff suck: no one really knows until we play it out . so you’re statements that gabs will suck kinda violates that. he might. but let’s see how it plays out. isn’t that why we watch?

  4. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Well, the point is, at least with Kaepernick, he HAD success in the game. Gabbert not so much. The sudden glorification of Gabbert as our QB is ludicrous.

Its more of the screaming masses decrying Gabbert the savior and wanting to lose Kaepernick at the end of the year. Hey, Gsbby does good, they’ll have their choice made for them. I just don’t believe the hype. Gabbs needs to show more than one game. Like I said, winning in Seattle would be a right step.

  5. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I don’t want to see Kappy go but I think he’s gonna have to utilize every chance he has. The way it looks is he is the perfect escapedgoat for Jed and Baalke. I know he hasn’t played very well at all but neither has his supporting crew. I’m still looking for that revamped offense.

  6. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yup. It s a hard enough job with a good supporting cast.

Lets call in the Red Cross …….in times of stress they can be a comfort and a lifeline. Playing in Seattle is stressful for sure especially for our fans. Heartattacks will be popping up around town as fans cry out in depair. In the park I attend there’s always at least two ambulances in the parking lot at the ready for the next medical crisis that’s sure to happen.

Interesting article about the unseen forces in the front office. Most specifically, Paraage Marathe. A guy I’ve certainly railed against over the years. Esp with his handling of the red-flag duties. Scotty made him look good, and he (they) have brought in a few good free agents, but the overarching trend is that this team is in need of a restructuring.

    Doh!

Interesting. Not a football guy but running things. I think Ratto’s right for once when he said about the leaks “not without directions”

  9. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah. There’s been a lot of talk that the leaks were from Tomsula. I’ve never heard a more stupid premise than that.

Which is why I think these front office types are behind Baalke all the way. They think the problems with the team are strictly on the QB.

It buys Baalke one more year on the job and all but guarantees another year of suck, if not a few more. Seeing as Kaepernick will be gone, and Gabbert/rookie will be our QBs going forward.

Meanwhile on the “other blog” Sir Spit and Bullit are launching grenades to each other while the 49ers fade away into ineptitude.

The Warrior are getting smoked in L.A. Down 18 in the 1st – this is not the Warrior team I saw in the latter half of last season.

  11. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Too many dumb turnovers and they missed 6 lay ups in the 1st half. When they stop passing they stop scoring. As it is only down 9.

  12. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Fucking Jax st 4-6 is a half game out of first.

And to anyone giving the Niners shit for their alt unis got a pastel treat tonight.

  13. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

They started playing D in the second half. It was MIA in the first. They’re really pushing it inside, too, not relying on the outside game which wasn’t working.

  14. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Shit, curry lollygags shit sometimes. 3 lazy turnovers in 1 min just lost this game.

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The clips were shooting 65% in the 1st half.

  16. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

I know they’ll lose tonight or eventually, but at least they’re makng a fight of it. This looks much more like the Warriors. They seemed to sleepwalk through the first half – after Curry got his second PF early they curled up and died.

  17. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

Lucky on that call – Curry touched it last.

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Wow. Clips have no heart.

  19. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

13-0. Awesome game after that horrid start. Coming back from 23 down on the road against a very good Clipper team? Quite a game.

  20. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

Now home against an 8-3 Bulls team tomorrow night – another tough game…

  21. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Rough to play back to back road/home games.

    Dubs aren’t beating stiffs either.

  22. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

Back to back games should be banned. NBA regular season is a joke. People please don’t take this seriously. I hate basketball. Too many games.

I was surfing with the alien this morning on the way to work.

  24. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

Marshawn hasn’t practiced all week due to an abdominal injury, but will likely play – it’s up to him.

  25. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Uboldin’a questionable as well. If we stop dropping so many passes we might sustain a drive or two.

  26. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Another wild warrior game

  27. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

14-0, much closer throughout than the final score… Good game by the now 8-4 Bulls on the road, great game by the Warriors in their third game in four nights.
