I see this Season starting with lots of motion and ground attack.
Our OL is going to take time to adjust to the new system, however, a WCO should help them once Alex and the WRs get into the necessary rhythm.
Game 1, lots of Gore and Hunter, 9ers win a close one. I do expect Harbaugh to take some deep shots though, VD and Braylon will be a nice duo.

Forty Niners Forever 
It was a good win, but looking back on all there chances to put it away worries me. As well it should everyone. The Defense played beyond their capabilities, where as the the offense sputtered and at times looked completely lost. Why do the Niners look so confused when it is 3rd and short or long for that matter. That is when they call time outs. Why? Harbaugh and Roman should have a play ready to go.
The refs win the game for NE. Good to play 18 against 11.
The d played as they always do. Yeah, we left some points out there. The thing is the 49ers won. It’s a huge psychological boost to beat Seattle. Does it mean we beat them in their house in the playoffs? No. That’ll be a different game at a different time.
Sea beat Carol 12 to 6. Do they begrudge the point they left out there? No. They took the win and left. For all the points left out there, Seattle had their share of fuckups. The Niners won. That’s what comes out of this. They needed a score late to win and they got it done.
Unreal. Sean Payton decides to take the extra 2 yards and not the 1st down on a play that resulted in a 1st down, but the penalty gave them a 2nd and 3, but 2 extra yards. They get stuffed, the an incomplete pass. Dumb.
So in your book Chuck, a win, is a win, is a win. Well come the plays offs and they trot out that tired offense, we will see what you have to say. Basically you are saying you have no concerns with the play calling and the way it turned out.
Kevin, we all see that they didn’t blow the doors off and that at times the play called may not have been the best. We also saw the Niners win probably the most important game of the season. We saw Kap get the monkey off his back and beat the Squawks and that there are plays not yet revealed that will be there for the playoffs, just like last season when the Niners unveiled a number off plays not seen in the regular season.
They have used this year to teach Kap the art of pocket passing and read progressions and have amassed 9 wins in the process, it is a work in progress. Big picture it is what Kap has to learn. The team has lost 2 very close games and could easily be 11-2 just like Squawks.
We all know that what matters is getting to the playoffs healthy and on a roll, looks to me like the Niners are getting better week by week and getting healthy in time for when it really counts.
Make no mistake, the 49ers can beat anyone anywhere on any given Sunday. Keep the faith.

TheNiners will either be playing Detroit, or now maybe Philly. I’d rather it be Dallass but whatever. We will see when we get there. That game isn’t even the big worry. The worry is the game after that. More than likely it’ll be Seattle. If so, this game showed we can beat them.

Yes Kap is still jumpy and misses his reads sometimes but he is improving. I expect the read option to make a return in the post season, not to the extent of last year but more frequent than we have seen this year.

Yes, you are correct about Philly, especially the run they are now, I had pegged them for 6 or 7 win season, I thought that division winner would be the one to reach 9 wins (between DAL, NYG & WASH, in that order).
Re Carolina, I am not as surprised, given how they finished last season.
As far as the collection of underachievers, key injuries (ATL, GB), and time for a rebuild (PIT, NYG, HOU), just IMO.
Past this win, for the 49ers, I just hope for good health and no injuries. We have seen how injuries affected the final outcome in the past two seasons.
Gonna be interesting to see how GB treats Rodgers if Chi loses tomorrow night Random9erfan.
Very few Teams can survive injuries to a starting QB in this League.
Rodgers going down on the frozen tundra is mighty risky however.
I think both Atl and GB have been exposed for weaker Defenses than anything else.

Great win, tough win. No way the Niners beat Seattle at Seattle, if the Niners play like today. What is this play calling in the red zone? As soon as you get inside the 20, you run run run. When’s the last time they actually through a pass into the end zone from the red zone? I will say this. Next draft, Baalke MUST draft a burner WR to open this shit up. Crabby can’t run fast at all, Boldin is old/slow, and Manningham has disappeared. BTW, Keenan Allen had two TDs today, and will be the all time leader in receptions for rookie WRs for the Chargers by next week; he may even had done it today. Baalke skipped over him against my recommendation…

I just don’t think Kaep trusts himself, or their timing, well enough to throw to a spot?
He muscles too many throws. Needs to develop the finer points of QB play.
There’s just something ‘uneasy’ about Kaep when he’s asked or expected to deliver on time.
No doubt he’ll continue to improve with time.
When he first began as the starter he would just wing it and was very accurate, tight windows and the whole bit. In a numbers game that can’t continue and once defenses adjust to what you do then winging it becomes picks. They are trying to school him to pick his spots and be more careful and to take more care when running. Put that together with forcing him to be a pocket passer and he is thinking far too much and trying to do the right thing as per the coaches instructions and not make mistakes all while trying to win the game.
Kap will be something special if the coaches don’t force the round peg into the square hole too much. Very high ceiling for him, very talented.
He just hasn’t shown up in games, limited opportunities I grant you but that is the deal right? When you get a shot, make the most of it and he hasn’t.

The one really disappointing throw was the pick, because a good throw is a TD. That was badly underthrown. The rest I was fine with. When you look at the throws Wilson was making, most of the time he was throwing to wide open guys. Kappy’s passes were contested most of the time or had very small windows to get through. Including the TD to VD.
Absolutely right, Chuck. I thought that myself during the game. A lot of the Wilson completions were to guys open in space. Kap has to sling it in there because there’s guys hanging all over his receivers almost every pass play. He threw a couple of bad balls, particularly a couple in the flat that missed, but he’s usually throwing into thick coverage to get it done. That’s why we need faster, bigger receivers — these guys can’t get open for shit. I dunno where the hell Manningham is, he’s on the line of scrimmage, then disappears down a hole or something…

Gore is definitely in his last full season of full time work. He’s hobbled and slow. Limping after that last, big run. He’s getting by on experience and savvy. In the open field, he’s slow as molasses. I hope Lattimore turns into a stud…

Yeah, if a young back had gotten through that hole like Frank did on that last, long run, he would have been off to the races with a TD. Instead, Frank almost immediately started looking back to make sure nobody was about to punch the ball out from behind. He’s just too slow in the open field…

I do know that we’re susceptible to those routes ourselves, since we tend to play over the top.

Niners just never seem to consider LMJ in the slot. Strange to me since Manningham is not doing much and no other receiver has done much from the slot this year so why not give it a whirl?
Not sure Hunter is shifty enough for that role though.

NE were gifted their game, 2 scores in 30 seconds and terrible ref calls.
LMJ was sketchy on the punt he fair caught and was hit gaining the penalty. He was late to get to it. Other than that he looked comfortable but has yet to break one. Better than Williams was though.
I felt bad for Cleveland 12th.
They put it to Tommy and Bill all afternoon.
To get a sleazy PI call in that spot was a crime.
