Or would you prefer “I’m looking California and feeling Minnesota”? There’s much media ado around Randy Moss returning to his old stomping grounds in the land of 10,000 lakes, but for the most part, Moss is merely trying to get ready for the game. He aknowledged playing with some great teammates in Minnosota, and was very happy to see Randall McDaniel and John Randle go into the Hall of Fame, and had nothing but good things to say about the organization. We’ll see how the fans treat him, but I’m sure he still has some fans out there.
Mike Florio, Mr. J-E-T-S lover himself, is trying to stir the pot by insinuation that Moss’ lack of significant playing time is irksome to Randy. Moss’ take is, it isn’t my call. Moss has been a big help to the young WRs on this team, has been a coach on the field during the preseason, and his playing time, while not a ton, will likely increase as the season goes on. He’s made some plays, and as appearances goe, he’s fully on board. I guess these media types feel like they need to make news instead of report it.
This is more apropos for your last post Chuck — but here’s a good read from Raven’s safety Pollard about the replacement refs. I think he pretty much nails it.

The NFL knows damn well they’re at zero risk with the replacement refs. Why? Because not one single fan has turned off their TV because of the officials. The NFL could send out trained monkeys in zebra costumes and everyone will still watch the game.
Dennis did you finally get your Alex jersey?
I think the Niners are using Moss exactly as he should be used at this point in his career. And I can’t believe they didn’t discuss this with him before he signed. I won’t believe Moss is displeased with his PT until he says it or he visibly starts doggin’ it–I haven’t seen either…..
Bruce Bochy wearing a Niner cap at today’s press conference. http://tinyurl.com/cz26b8c
Now that’s funny!
Bochy’s all right. Will he be fined by Bud Selig now?
No he won’t be.
Moss needs to just keep running fast. A running Moss will gather the rock!
Hard to say if Harbaugh will feature Moss a little more than usual or not. Reports all said he was a beast with practice and an example for the rookies. This doesn’t sound like someone washed up to me. But, Harbaugh will probably keep it pretty vanilla if he can. Why show the league anything if you don’t have to. All I know is that it is such a pleasure watching 49er football again. I still yell at the TV but not near as much as I was.
I think not. Though there may be a play or two for him “if it’s there”. If not, no big. Jest get da win.
It’s not about 1 player, to steal a phrase “just win baby”
Lets go easy on the refs. This too shall pass.
It’s the league not the refs that need to hear it.
Zactly
This will come to a head pretty soon. There’s grumbling amongst the owners now, so it won;t be long before someone gets hurt or a game gets blown. I don;t think these non-scabs are learning fast enough.
Speaking of Randy California:
A Bergs sighting?
well he does have big feet and is as rare a sighting
As far as Minnesota goes, they squeeked out a win vs the 0-2 Jaguars and they eeked out a loss vs the Luck-led Colts. Beyond the fact that this is a road game, the hope is the Niners beat the shit out of them. Both Detroit and Green bay are better than the Vikes, and the Niners beat them both fairly handily.
Plus, the spector of the Favre game hangs over this team, and they do not want to let this one get away. Funny thing is, that team in 2009 was 2-0 heading into Minnesota, and was a missed toe-tap away from being 3-0. You have to wonder how that last-gasp loss changed the fortunes of the 49ers. Talk about a tipping point. They went 2-5 after that game and vanished from the playoff hunt.
Niners 16 Vikings 7.
You said that last week. Wasn’t that the score of Super Bowl III?
I;m thinkning more along the lines of 24-13 Niners.
Got to love Sergio Romo sporting the Aldon Smith jersey after yerterdays’ win by the Giants.
More fun between the niners and the Giants . . .
Very cool, I want one of those.
No Fun League strikes again.
Turns out John Wendling got fined $7,875 for the shot to Alex Smith’s head. Alex Smith puts a Giants hat on? $15,000 fine. Alex nearly loses his head, the fine is half.
Good to see Goodell’s got his priorities in order.
Same score I picked against the Pack, Chuck. So far I’m off by 3 points total in 2 games. Yeah, I know they played the second halves, too, but the Niners won both.
I’m sticking with 16-7.
Ok updating the Scoring Challenge AKA da guessing game:
Chuck: 24-13 Niners. “The hope is the Niners beat the shit out of them. Both Detroit and Green bay are better than the Vikes, and the Niners beat them both fairly handily”
rtfirefly: 16-7 Niners. : “Same score I picked against the Pack, Chuck. So far I’m off by 3 points total in 2 games. Yeah, I know they played the second halves, too”,
12th man: 28-12 “Niners just cruising along.
Phil: 30-13 Niners. 3 TDs, 3 FGs. Gonna stick w/ 30 points fer the Niners. 27 last week pretty close. 19 for Deetroit was in line with my call of them not getting “more than 20″.
40-6 Niners! Yeah! Moss explodes.
