Game Day – Carroll vs Harbaugh Part Six (or in French, ‘six’)

This should be an interesting game as Pete Carroll has a shot to try somewhat even the score with Jim Harbaugh. Jim “what’s YOUR deal?” Harbaugh seems to have a leg up on his skirmishes with Carroll going back to the Stanford/USC days.  Harbaugh was 3-1 vs Carroll in college, and. so foar inthe NFL, is 1-0 vs Carroll. So, the onus is on Carroll to break the vise-like hold Harbaugh has on him,  and for all intents and purposes had better players in college, and whose team is coming on pretty strong defensively this season. They are on a roll, and look to keep their slim playoff hopes alive for one more week.

Pretty heady stuff, seeing as how they started the year in the shitter by going 2-6. As this division is supposed to be weak sauce, the rest of the NFC can’t seem to close them out. All in all, though, the Niners should win out and wear these guys down.

Ok, finally a guy worthy of your hate. Tell George to jump this time, ferchrissakes…

BERGER– dude, seriously, you are Denny 3 years ago. I like it. The link is to the right listed under The Flap. Drop by anytime…

  3. big flavor's avatar big flavor says:

Denny, i share in the serenity. Ive got serenity coming out of all orifices. And im at peace with that. Your priorities are all fucked up. Dude. Work em out here at ‘forever. Im out till tomorrow’s christmas vote.

Flavor- Not sure what your point is. Del was going thru some shit, he needed a friend and I obliged. As time went on I found he is a good man and I am better for knowing him. I don’t agree with him about much but all I care about is learning. I love learning. When you stop learning you should just die. Dennis has a lot to offer. Most people do. Del just answered his phone!

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Unbelievable. Denny, Denny Denny. Tebow is OK with shitting all over Buffalo and NE, but Smith wins in Seattle, and plenty of other places, and he’s shit.

I bet Tebow is a wonderful guy, but he sucks ass as a QB.

Obviously for a lot of people these discussions and opinions are often only slightly about football, who’s a good player or not, etc. The question is what’s that? An excuse to dump on a safe target like an NFL QB? For some sure. A way to displace anger onto others who disagree with me? Yes for some. A way to validate my self-worth or sense of control in a chaotic and irrational world when my guy/my team does well? Yes, sure can be.

And a whole lot more that we can’t know without a lot more info about the person and his situation. None of that worries me but I wonder if others see some of this too? Talking about football is less than half of what goes on here!

      IMHO

  6. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Bergs, Dennis has been a known entity for a long time among these guys. Shit has gotten weird lately. I don;t profess to know too much about it, but shit’s been wearing thin.

    • Berger's avatar Berger says:

You guys don’t seem to get this. He hates Alex Smith and would rather see us lose with him than win with him. I told him that a half hour ago and he got mad at me for putting words in his mouth. I told him you know I am right. Whatever, I’m not going to hate him for that. He says I’m wrong, but I told him from what you say and write, I’m right. For me, it is not a big deal. But it is fun fucking with him about it. The thing you guys don’t understand is we laugh about most of our arguments. I fuck with him and he fucks with me and we laugh. Now and then we do get serious, but mostly we laugh. Del is a fun guy, except when he is kicking your ass in fantasy football and you can’t get him off the phone! LOL! My wife loves to get on the phone and laugh with him too.

I have a similar relationship with Denny as Berger. He hates Alex? So what? Chuck thinks TT sucks ass? SO what? What I respond to is the overall quality of our relationships. Do we all have to agree all the fucking time? That’s not realistic, not possible. Do we have a mutual respect and overall enjoyment in our interactions? That’s good. If I disagree with (you) does that make me a hater? Really? Not buying what control addiction is selling: “Be like me, think like me or else…”

Denny called me at the hospital after my craniotomy. We had a delightful chat. I hope he gets it turned around.

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

TF, it was a pleasure talking to you. I know what it feels like to be in a hospital bed after a major surgery. It helps to divert the pain and talk about sports with a fellow fan.

Hope you are well. Merry Christmas.

    • phil fan's avatar phil fan says:

How pleasant twinfan. Yet the next day you continue to post malignant shit about “Death Threat Dennis” and whine endlessly about how YOU are the supposed victim. .No evidence of any real threat just your NAUSEATING PROJECTIONS. Get the fuck over it Mike. You’re capacity to maintain this good moment is quite limited- like a 4th graders.

Getting real tired of “It’s a Dennis’s fault”. There ARE NO threats Mr Amateur. BUT if you continue to insist on getting your own fucking way someone will die. And it will be on you. Asshole

Am I the only one tracking Santa on Christmas Eve?

No. My friends at NORAD do a wonderful job. Santa just hit The Windy City.
I hope Santa doesn’t lose his presents in Chicago like the Cubbies are known for choking up games.

    • Berger's avatar Berger says:

Do the Cubbies have Tony Romo? That would explain their choking up games!

      • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Berger, my bestest friend. Do you know what your worst fear is?

I do. Tony Romo winning the Super Bowl.

When that happens, and it WILL. I’ll help you recover.

But you’ll be in trouble my friend. Deep trouble…

      • Berger's avatar Berger says:

You mean like he helped them win today? Tell me when to get under my desk.

    • phil fan's avatar phil fan says:

Santa must be taking the Polar Route over from Asia/Europe because it’s almost evening here on Christmas Day. I got a nice shiny present gift wrapped and delivered from Seattle.

  9. Berger's avatar Berger says:

Today was the first game where I had the feeling that when we were down by two Seatle was screwed because Alex as getting the ball back. I like the feeling of having confidence in my QB. I also remember getting a 10 yard penalty, which made it 1st and 20, and thinking, no problem if the play calling is good. I really like our QB.

  10. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Well, Harbaugh does rely on that defense. But he also gives Alex shots to take down the field. The drops early were terrible, but they managed to keep it close and give Alex the chance to engineer that last drive. Larry came through with a big game. It’s nuts that they haven’t really missed a beat without Willis. The one guy everyone thought they couldn’t live without.

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Chuck, “But he (Harbaugh), also gives Alex shots to take down the field?”

      What game are you watching?

Frank told me to shaddup and watch the final of “The Music Man.”

      Great call, Frank.

      • twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

The TD drive and then the terrific throw and catch to Crabs

      • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Gee, Del, except for the 40 yard drop by Crabs, the 45 yard catch that VD couldn’t get his fucking feet down, and the 41 yarder that Smith hit Crabs on to win the game, no he didn’t do shit deep.

Go pray to Tebow for forgiveness, numbnuts. You obviously don’t understand football, or deserve to even watch the 49ers this year. Just watch Denver struggle, or Dallas fail. But yer fucking days are numbered here.

  11. Berger's avatar Berger says:

How did that McCloughan prediction go? Del is sad we won with Alex Smith. Especially since he was a huge reason we won. Did Romo win today?

    • twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

Tony knows it’s December. His pinkie hurt so he bailed..

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

OK, asshole. I’m gonna p/u the phone and listen to you try and tell me how Alex is a better QB than Romo.

I know I get skinned and put in a corner for favoring Tony Romo, but I like the cut of his jib…

I wish Tony Romo was our 49er QB. There, I said it. Sue me, my bestest friend.

  12. twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

I don’t if it was mentioned before, but the officials did a terrific job amidst all the pushing, shoving, and general unruliness. Some crews would have turned this into a penalty fiasco. They kept it under control, and it never got out of hand- good job.

  13. Berger's avatar Berger says:

All this talk about Alex Smith. What about Aldon Smith? AllDon All the Tme!

  14. twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

Well, T-Blow and Choker Boy both have a chance next week to join Alex in leading their teams to the playoffs and I’ll give them credit if they do.
BTW, ya gotta give Elway the of credit mastering the art of saying nothing when asked about T-blow. “I ‘ve never seen anything like him”…”He’s not going anywhere”. Let’s just say that falls a tad short of Harbaugh on Smith.. “He’s my quarterback”…

    • bigflavor's avatar Flavor says:

why shouldn’t he be his qb? He’s about 100 times better than Tebow. If I was Elway, I wouldn’t say sh!t sounding like keeping him either. Tebow will only play this single season in Denver, in my opinion. Elway will trade him when his value is high. He’ll go on to have a long career……for the church.

      • twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

Of course there’s no reason Smith shouldn’t be the QB. I was just contrasting the statements from Elway and Harbaugh.
“Tim Tebow’s not going anywhere,” Elway said. “I mean, he’s going to be a Bronco and we’re going to do everything we can and hopefully he’s that guy.”
I’m just giving Elway props for appeasing the T-Blowites while really saying nothing. he’s easing into management quite nicely..

    • phil fan's avatar phil fan says:

That;s true but neither Elwas -(yes he was but not now…) nor you twinfart could have believed TT would win the AFC West. Fact you swore they would only win 2 more games- but they won 5 more. Beat KC this weekend and I wanna hear some mea culpas from you and yer disbeleivers. Otherwise I’m calling you, Flavor and chuck a bunch of sorry ass pussies.

Yeah Elway’s covering his ass. so when are you, 2xfart gonna admit yer sorry predictions re: Mr Tebow were wrong wrong, goddamn WRONG?

I know Flavor and chuck are following ya like sheep but the facts are not what you dudes swore was the fucking goddamn truth. Just admit it if you got the stones….

      Laughable.

Merry Christmas and now just bleep the living daylights out of the Lambs to finish off a wonderful season. As for Alex, one must have patience to appreciate what he does. It’s not flash and dash like some QB’s. The toughness is very apparent.

  16. twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

    “We Stand Behind Our Mattresses”

    Maybe these need some rethinking…
