For you Jefferson Starship fans: fuck you, we do what we want . . . On paper this should be a fairly easy go of things. On the field as well. Although these things rarely go as planned. Still a bit amazed how fast expectations have changed for this team. The demoralizing come from ahead loss to Dallas was followed by an eked out win on the road in Cincy. Week 4 was supposed to be the reality check for this team. Keep close, play tough, but in the end, get overwhelmed by the superior talent in Philly. Then Tampa, the west coast killers, and on to undefeated Detroit. These were all supposed to be teams that were better, stronger, and more prepared than the 49ers. Guaranteed lock wins when their fans looked at their respective schedules. Well, things didn’t work out that way for those guys.
Cleveland? Don’t know jack about them, other than Mike Holmgren is their GM. A job he failed at miserably in Seattle. Their biggest threat, Peyton Hillis is out, and Colt McCoy is a decent enough QB, I guess.Again, haven’t seen him at all. Their defense is ranked pretty high. But 2 of their 3 wins came at the hands of 2 winless teams, mail it Indy, and the Dullfins. So, this probably won’t be a blowout, but I don’t think it’ll be that close in the end. Somewhere like 24-10.
Beyond that, we’ll have the Philly/Cowboy game on Sunday night. Lots of interesting stories there. Dog killer vs Promo. America’s team vs the Broad St bullies. The Dream Team vs the scream team. Maybe Romo chokes under the bright lights on prime time football again. Vick has put up astounding numbers in his 4 losses. Should be another fun game. These guys usually have some crazy shit go on. Joe Pisarchik anyone?
Looking forward to a niner fg. Not cause I bet the game but because that shut talking Adam Meyer was adamant that the Niners wouldn’t cover this week
You got it Flav.
Soap should have lowered his shoulder. He would have blown the safety up
Soap was a TE at one point in his college career.
Bingo. That’s all they needed to seal this.
Rugby player too, they catch as well as run
Game over
That was a great game they showed w/Fouts. I was there. Incredible back and forth. They had the ball last, so they won.
Please do not play prevent D
Yep prevent, go
Prevent nothing
Nice win
Good game – fun to watch back East here. Thanks Phil for the link, mine got busted by NFL (or Justin TV just shut it down).
Cheers all,
My pleasure. See you
6-1 is pretty fucking sweet. Cleve played pretty tough in the 2nd half, but in the end, it’s a win for the 49ers. Solid running, solid passing. solid ST.
No turnovers. Well, except on downs.
Good win by our guys, pretty much according to script. I think chuck gets the prize as closest score. I had 24-14 so 8 off the mark. Dennis gets the booby prize for worse call but hey he’s on the Niners shin kicking payroll. He’s the master of FF tho, kicking my butt. I sure hope chuck loses, hate to be tied with the guy!
Cheers! 6-1!
I am glad the Rams got there 1st win, I was worried about the Niners playing down to there competition and giving the Rams their first win.
It’s nice after nearly a decade, having a team that can have a dominating first half against a pretty fair opponent, and still feel like they should have scored more. Alex played within the Harbaugh scheme, and is even checking himself now when he gets in a spot where earlier he’d throw an idiotic pick. He had a strip today, but he’s looking better. I didn’t even see a tip at the line, unless I missed one. 10 wins now is looking like in the bag, 11 very doable, even with a hiccup against an unworthy. Niner D is oppressively good. As long as the offense gets some good drives and gives the D a blow once in a while, it should dominate all but the elite offenses. I’m pinching myself…
Well,I said 20-3, and if not for that weird-ass pass late in the 4th I would have nailed it cold. I’m just glad that Andy Meyer lost money on that game. I actually hold little ill will towards him but rather his clients who fork over 10K a month for his picks and then lose on top of that when they make a losing bet, I find myself LQTM when that happens……..
Yeah, if Soap lowers his shoulder he scores, and it’s a stone cold lock at 24-10.
Smith has always been a natural for the WCO, IMO. He’s not better now as much as we’re starting to see how much he was strait jacketed by the previous regimes. He actually gave notice last year after Raye left- he now has 20 TDs and 5 picks over his last 14 games…
With Frank healthy and a dominant defense, this should be a team to be reckoned with in the playoffs.
Only a paid lackey “shin kicker” of the Niners would continue shilling the idea the QB and the whole f-ing team sucks.Speaking of Del Mar, this song will keep getting sung after they go 15-1 and win the Super Bowl. Because a man’s gotta earn his daily beer, I mean daily bread. You think he does this shit for free?
For most of us not on the 9er payroll readily agree, you nailed this one twinfan. Go Alex, go Niners!
If they can keep the run game cranking, they will be tough in the playoffs. The thing is, NO ONE is very special. Even Green Bay. The margin for wins and losses is very small. Smith and the offense cutting down on the turnovers is huge. The +15 in turnovers is a BIG reason why these guys are winning.
Philly gets a false start out of a time out.
Ouch.
Dallass is getting killed. Rex Ryan eating his words again. How’s 28 points in the 1st half for overrated, rEX?
Where did Soft hang out this past week? We can’t say Broncos or Seahawks cause they’re just terrible. No it was in Nawllins and Dallass, winners of the weekly FJ Soft award. Rex Ryan should shut his mouth and not just at meal time..
Cue the wailing and gnashing of teeth from Del Mar, harharbaugh
AND IF the Crocs beat the Schlong after the KC/SD game Monday nite… bad pun intended…crisis time for old Del Mar:
“What happened when when you took the old Croc out behind the woodshed to give him a lesson for mocking the Cows BEFORE they got whupped today Dennis?”
“Well the Schlong got beat but good”.
“So that’s twice in two days?”
“Yep a new personal best”
Ok then! Bring it on!
