Let the Sleeping Dogs Die ! ! !
The Brew Crew so far is obliterating the Dodgers pitching while their pitching has shut down the Dodger attack. Not really watching, but hey seeing that 6-2 score yesterday in the top of the 9th was very nifty. Patrick Bailey is apparently putting his stamp on the Guardicles team as he cranks up the power. Yes, it’l disappear like a mirage soon, but hey, ride it while it lasts.
Brewers and Guardicles would be a cool series.
Go Milwaukee! Fuck the Dodgers.
Homer derby day for the Giants. Nice to see.
Seems the Giants bring up a new guy every game. Whatever — time to see, when faced with MLB level oppo, who of these no name farmhands can play, who might and who absolutely can’t. Adumbass and Chaps are so far from needed here that it’s ridiculous.
Looks like Fox and Hill are definitely in the running to make this team next spring, if there is a season to be had. Fox is so damn fast, he should be on the team just for that, but he’s got glove skills, and looks like hitting is coming around for a guy at AA a month ago. Hill is just a fundamentally sound player, wonder of wonders, for a Giants farmhand. Coming up without being drafted made the kid learn how to play ball — good for him. McCrea, the verdict is in, once in a while he lucks into one like right there in the 9th, but the guy can’t hit otherwise. He’s wasting a roster spot these last weeks. We know what he can do.
As for Tugboat last night, looks like the 90 mph heater is really vulnerable at the MLB level. He’s gotta use his other pitches to set up the fastball to make it look like it’s coming in at 95, and figure out how to get movement on it. Whatever deception he’s supposed to have throwing it, he better work on that.
Oh, as Foley tries to give this one back in the bottom of the 9th, I just heard Ryan Walker was optioned back to Sac. He’s so bad, some dude Joel Kuhnel is in for a look-see instead, just off waivers from somebody. If this weren’t in NY, it’s looking like Spring Training already…
Actually, yes, that’s how I’m looking at the rest of this season, the beginning of a very extended pre-spring training…. why not.
Giants got Molina for Mahle, right? That looks like a winning trade already…
Would’ve been a fun game to go to. Heard there were a ton of Giant fans there. And they gave out a Mrs. Met bobblehead to boot. Just couldn’t motivate myself. I’m not a good fan anymore…
You even had your travel-sized hairspray for the trip.
How far are you from Flushing?
From Coney Island at the bottom to the next to last stop on the 7 train. Notice how not direct it is…
Loo, I used to go to Cyclones games
I gotta watch The Warriors again.
Was last there in 2016 with the 2 Dawgs, Mac & San. Maybe we bumped into you?
Hey , I’m huge Hendrix fan as well, DJ. My sister left me all her albums when she left home and moved to the Haight in 1970 when she got out of high school. She saw everyone. Got drunk a couple times with Janis Joplin when they bumped into each other. The Doors, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Blue Cheer Quicksilver. Saw Zepplin’s first tour when they were the 2nd band. Country Joe and the Fish were the headliners. She said no one had a cclue who they were. Said they were louder than shit.
We got to meet up at Electric Lady Studios.
older sisters are the best.
26 Giants. Hang it in there.
Interesting, no comments about the game. I guess Perdomo looked good. I see that Tollway Joe Morgan died at age 95, a legend in Bosstown. At the break in ’88, Sox fired John McNamara (team was 1 game over .500 at the time) and installed Tollway Joe, who had been the 3rd base coach, just an old time baseball lifer. Sox won something like 12 in a row and 19 of 20 and made it to the post season (of course lost to the A’s, could never get past the A’s those years). Morgan became famous when he pulled Jim Rice late in a game for a pinch hitter (little Spike Owen), and Rice dragged Morgan into the tunnel by the shirt collar. Owen got a hit to keep the game alive and Sox won the game on a Todd Benzinger homer. Rice’s relationship with the team was never the same….
Has one team ever had 2 rookies have seasons like Rice and Lynn in ’75? Probably yes, gotta think about it. Giants had awful Benziger through some dreary times. McNamara should been whacked right after ’86 series…
Yeah the Gold Dust twins, is that what they called them? And yes, McNamara lost the ’86 Series, some of the worst managing ever seen in that game 6.
I guess no one cares about Stanley Dancer and Billy Haughton…
It would be good to see Webb not get lit up again tonight.
Harrison blasted by Reds twice now. Sure enough, avg. fastball velocity down 2 MPH after IL stint.
MLBTR story says they are thinking of removing him from rotation. very interesting comment section too–how do you fix all the injuries from guys maxing out velo from young age and going as far as they can?
Devers trade looks better every month. Second best Posey acquisition, Pettis for Borg.
If Webb craps out again he needs a rest. WBC, Webb being cautious.
Hill primed for a Gladden/Joshua year or two?
The ABS is a failure in my book. Still way too many incorrect calls deciding ABs.
“He’s been a guy who has done well here” said Flems on Lee hitting at Oracle. Um not this year. slash line at home .259/.304/.373. OPS of .677 is 100 points worse than on road where BA is .297.
I know Webb would reject the idea of shutting himself down but in a lost season it’s not worth it to continue.Lots of innings, plus the stupid WBC took its toll right from the start of the season for lots of the players in it.
Noticed “Bombs Away Seymour “ is back up pitching like his usual into orbit shit to join Walker gone to Sac again as the BP continues to be depressing.
I kinda like what I see in Lefty Perdomo,& the righty I’m drawing a blank on until the league figures them out..
Btw Vitello was only 3 games better then Davenport when he got canned Vitello 59-85 to Davenport 56-88 time to reshuffle the Titanic deck chairs but since Posey’s major mistake was hiring a college coach Vitello will survive sneaking on the Titanic last second as a weasel..
Posey has to like that sequence of situational hitting from young hitters. Hill pulls ball to right side so Koss can advance to 3b and Eldridge drives him in with deep sac fly.
Devers is hot like Scutaro 2012 and Randy Winn 2005…
Don’t say that, we need to see at least a half dozen more of these stretches from him.
oooh. just turned on the game
Not liking FOley
Why not set up the double play?
Cards walked winning run on 1b, Eldridge ties it and makes them pay.
And gilbert hits the ball a foot, stares at it and it winds up GIDP. unreal
The ball was in the box
the front corner of the box, shaped like the Mississippi delta in the northwest corner of that state, is in fair ground.
Koss with the noodle arm all game long.
Koss threw a two seam change up to Eldridge. His arm is worse than weak.
Giants tried so hard to lose this.
The GKE (Great Karmatic Equalizer) smiled upon their form.
Foley with the win lol.
