! ! ! ! Can’t get any lower. Still I feel I’m sinking ! ! ! !

Outshined by Chris Cornell and Soundgarden. The theme song for your SF Giants 2026 team.

In a season full of pitching debacles and crushing losses, they managed to pull one out for the ages.

Yes, the biggest blown 9th inning league in the 125 year history of the team. They were 2,208-0 when leading by 6 or more in the 9th. Til today.

Up 9-3 in the top of the 9th, the team could not even get an out before Cincy tied it. Bivans came in and really had no clue. Not sure why whoever the interim manager even was didn’t pull him a little faster, but I think it was pretty obvious Bivens didn’t have it. He gave up the longest home run into the cove that I’ve ever seen. Then again, Smith came in and nuked the joint. And the rest was errors, walks and general rookie ball crap.

I guess the lockout is a blessing.

For Dolly . . .

At least they didn’t bring back Verlander…

Unc, every so often after I post something, there’s “continue reading” box at the bottom of it. If I click on that to check out anything else, there’s message saying I’ve made a duplicate post, as what happened to Xoot’s posts. So I have to escape out of that to get back to main thread, even though there was only the one post sent.

Just WP blues? haven’t tried to post on phone at all, yet. Reading on it is an adventure but that’s my phone I’m sure.

  3. xoot's avatar xoot says:

The continue reading button used to confirm my phone posts. Now it seems to dupe them. Also, there is a weird delay so the status of a post is uncertain for a while — then it dupes. Just started recently. Ah, well. Like a car radio in the mountains.

Susac returns as Haase exits. MCC said he had great weekend in rehab games in Sac, 4-8 3 run HR double walk and SB. Hope one of the 3 of them (Cavanaugh Rodrigues) work out over rest of season.

    • Paul Sorensen's avatar Paul Sorensen says:

I think Susac is a key piece. He’s why they traded Bailey. He needs to stop getting injured if he’s going to be the main guy behind the plate. He has the talent, I’m looking forward to him staying healthy and contributing consistently….

Saw an AP article about MLB “cracking down” on teams using AI on those dugout tablets they use. “I read the article and I was like, I can’t believe what I’m seeing,” New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge said. “Teams are making decisions off of AI? Man, that’s just crazy.” Hmmm. I guess MLB is facing some issues that other professions have been facing, such as education and how much AI should students be allowed to use, etc.

    • xoot's avatar xoot says:

apparently only mlb approved tablets or laptops are allowed in the dugouts, right? And mlb makes sure there’s no AI on them? Something like that. No tv feeds either, I bet.

Schmitt loses a challenge on the final strike in the first inning. Welcome to the second half of the season.

      • xoot's avatar xoot says:

now in the bottom of the first inning Cavanaugh loses the Giants second challenge and Arozarena immediately loses one for the Mariners. Comical. Everybody’s eager, I guess.

Eager to get the season over with…

But we’ve been playing .500 ball since June 3rd!!!

(and rookies report to training camp tomorrow)

Meltdown inning by M’s D. After couple really nice plays before by Giants, Roupp getting lead runner on bunt and Cavanaugh/Arraez with CS.

    • willedav's avatar willedav says:

Adames had the tag. Then he goes boom. another week or so of this….giants can only hope someone gets desperate.

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The pisser to all this is if we had a halfway decent pitching staff we’d be in the playoff hunt.

    • djloo27's avatar djloo27 says:

Shows how low the standard is to make the playoffs now…

      • willedav's avatar willedav says:

Yeah and look at AL. Everybody except Angels and Royals still in it. M’s came into today at 48-49 and had last WC spot.

      • djloo27's avatar djloo27 says:

A lotta teams are in it mathematically only. I’d say the NHL is the only league where you just have to make the playoffs to have a chance…

      • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Shit, the Giants are 9.5 out. AZ a couple years ago went from mediocre to the WS a coupkle years ago when they made some moves at the deadline.

  8. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

This fucking team has to lead the league in grannies.

  9. willedav's avatar willedav says:

mlb.com site says 13 ground outs for Roupp tonight.

Who the fuck is Foley? He looks like Dennis Weaver in Duel.

    • djloo27's avatar djloo27 says:

The truck driver came up “ant small” at the end…

    • Paul Sorensen's avatar Paul Sorensen says:

Yeah, had to look up that name. Looks like they signed him around the same time last December when they signed Houser and didn’t expect him to play because of injury until mid-season. Here we are, and here he is… Maybe he’ll actually be better than most of the existing bullpen… maybe…

  11. willedav's avatar willedav says:

Maybe DiPoto sees someone he likes this weekend and sends Giants some pitching (not name Luis Castillo).

  12. djloo27's avatar djloo27 says:

Well anyway, that was about as good as it gets…

  13. xoot's avatar xoot says:

The Giants owe Bader and Houser each more than ten million next year. Chump change in the land of inflation? Maybe. But I won’t be surprised to be disappointed to see them on the roster out of ST next year. Ramos is arb eligible. Similar, although his value, at least when he’s in pre-arb-year motivation mode, is higher. Otherwise, the two rentals none of us really wants to lose seem most likely to depart. But what return is possible? Buster may be cornered. Has he come up ant small? Is he flailiing? “The ant’s a centaur in his dragon world,” as a celebratewd crank once put it. We don’t need any more Gilberts.

Pettis — best move of the season so far.

ADA could have back to back 30 HR seasons. Game is on national TV due to Yankee rainout…

  16. djloo27's avatar djloo27 says:

As far as fitting into today’s game, Giant fans bring up Kingman a lot but how about this guy whose name you never hear?

    3 – 2 – 1 – blastoff. Hey! A clean inning for Barney Miller.

Gawd we are so lame at doing anything to move a runner.

This pitcher looks like he isn;t paying attention to Ciox.
