Can’t restate this enough. I don’t think this team is going to be very effective in the long run if we don’t address the left guard and center positions before this season starts. Fucking PFF has Jake from State Farm as the 9th best center in the league despite his 31st spot in pass protection. I mean, how good was our run game last year? 24th.
So yeah, we need an upgrade there. Yes, Brock Purdy is very good at managing broken plays and making hay out of straw. Or straw out of gold. Whatever. But he has also thrown a lot of picks these last couple seasons.
First 2 seasons? 44-15. Last 2? 40-22. Not a good trend.
Wondering if Graham Glasgow is on their radar. He was cut by the Lions a while ago and couldn’t be any worse could he? At least give him a look. He can pay LG as well.
LG? Robert Jones? He of the neck injury and low rating? Colby showed a little bit in his forced debut, but was quickly demoted. And the word on Carver Willis is he’s a year away. So yeah, we need an LG. Maybe Elgton Jenkins and his massive salary gets kicked loose by the Packers?
I don’t know. I just really don’t want to see Brendel starting at center. I don’t think Toth is the answer to that problem wither.

No shit. They keep praying that guys like Colby and other late-round fliers UDFAs (Cruz, Kingston, Zakelj) work out. I mean, look at Puni, The 3rd round isn’t nearly as big a hope and prayer spot.
Kingston’s already gone from the 2024 draft.

I like Cruz as well he could slide right now into the LG spot and still move to LT if Williams can’t hold up. And I would give Willis extra work a center..I don’t care much of the existing OL men their mostly to old are not the right fit, and declining in production..
