Replacement Refs? Yes!!!

Because remember how well it went last time they did this?

Comical how fucking tight-ass these multi-billionaires are when it comes to paying the plebes in their domain. Make them full-time? FUCK NO!!! That means we’d have to pay benefits!

Christ. Baseball has robo-umps. How about robo-refs?

Other than that, the draft is coming in 9 days. Draft for O line help!!!!!

Can we start with SF Giants replacement players and manager first Chuck?

Hah! Play Susac for fuck’s sake!!!!! This is unreal they just don’t even give him like 3 games in a row. Ramos is just lost at the plate. All of them. Bader is sucking horribly.

Susac Gilbert and Brennan all in lineup tonight. susac almost tied game last night in final AB of 2-1 L.

Nice pics of players on B/R page to left today of standout older black ballplayers on Jackie Day.

and for the record, October 11 1951 the NY Giants had OF of Hank thompson Monte Irvin and Mays in there, first time that had been done.

Niners will go D line, most likely DE or they will go WR the only other possibility is a trade.

Anything else will really surprise me.

O lineman in the 4th round.

    Quote me.

  4. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

I’m afraid you are probably right.

If it was up to me I’d go:

LT, DE, LG, C, WR, TE, S

Have the prediction markets set up bets yet the odds of Shanalynch getting fired if a non-OL is taken at #27 and/or #58.

Also the odds of Purdy getting serious injury with those same draft picks. That playoff SEA game had that sack as a preview of what could be a career ending Purdy event that could make polymarket bettors wealthy.

I’ll answer you at the end of the season.

This is all getting very Andy Reid-ish in that he won’t be the one to get us over the top.

I mean I really feel like this best teams of their era was 2022 and 2023. Purdy’s injury and the Super Bowl 4th quarter fail undid those years.

5 more days and just reading a bunch of stuff I still can’t figure out what we are going to do. I think with only 6 picks we will draft any player who they have pinpointed at that slot. And I don’t think it’s gonna matter what position it is. We will need all of those 6 picks anyway. We will like always get a lot of needs players through the udfa’s. I wouldn’t mind seeing a OT at #27 though iirc we got Staley at 27 (I am to lazy to look that up) and that turned out pretty well.

I didn’t watch ESPN for about 4 years as I was off cable. When did they become a shill for WWE wrestling? They devote 20 mins of Sportscenter to that crap.

I don’t know I don’t spend anytime there anymore except to draft a couple of football and baseball teams.

49ers were dead last in sacks last season by a country mile.

Bosa, who’s effectiveness had been declining over the 2 prior seasons will be back following his 3rd achillies surgery, so who knows which version of Bosa will be back and how effective?

They lost their only other “known name” DE Huff to retirement and they have no other true DE in the building.

Tell me again about what should be their priority in the 1st round of the draft?

If Trent goes elsewhere it makes a difference to who they pick but if he stays its a DE. There is the Shanahan factor of “let’s take a 1st round WR and sit him on the bench” to consider, which is the only not DE possible pick.

A single O line pick in the 4th round is where I would put my money, someone to play at LG.

  9. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

For all the lowly sack totals, we lost games because of the terrible protection given Purdy. Teams with strong D lines killed us.

    • 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

Its not possible to say its directly because of the O line when you have no WR for instance but I take your point, they need O line help and more than they added so far, we agree.

However, with next to zero pass rush you will lose games, Sheattle didn’t win because of their amazing O line. They primarily won because of their amazing D line, which made the guys behind them look like superstars.

No question from me that it starts in the trenches both sides of the ball. I’m saying The D trenches matter more and although the Niner O line was mid pack, their D line was dead last so I know where I would improve first.

  10. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, I don’t know what they’ll do but I likely won’t agree. I’m hoping by simply getting healthy the D line improves, Even healthy, our O line sucked. We added the Dallas guy and the rookies got time in so that should improve fairly dramatically.

TW signed for 2 years. Looks like LG at #58 now.

Yep, Checked that out a minute ago. What a long strange trip it was.

Super Bowl Win, Purdy Please
