The Globetrotters vs the Generals + Week Joe

This looks like the wrong week to step off the gas for Kyle Shanahan. More like he wants to step on Danny Snyder’s throat. Troubled waters run deep, and the Shanahan family is still pissed at the way Danny (#metoo) Snyder micro-managed and bad-mouthed the Shanahans as Snyder whispered behind the scenes that he would override Kyle’s dad Mike’s QB decisions as the team imploded.

So, I think this one is pretty big on Kyle’s radar. Washington’s defense is surprisingly good this year, and looks to get better with DROY Chase Young making his return from a knee injury. They are 3rd in yards allowed and 9th in points given up. And they have a crop of stud WRs in McLaurin, Samuel, and Dotson.

Their offense is not too dynamic, but they did have Carson Wentz stinking things up to start their season. Heinekie is nothing special either, but still, they have a dangerous set of WRs. Should be interesting anyway given Shanahan’s abject hatred for Snyder.

Step on their throats and don’;’t let up.

I can’t post it but there was an article in the Athletic about how the NFL is pouring money into flag football. Short range my take is that they want a game that both men and women can play at a high level. It might sound funny but in California they have a bike race called the death ride and this race is no joke the interesting thing is that a lot of women beat a whole lot of men in that race. My take on the long range plan is to eventually turn the NFL into a flag football league.

I went out and got a growler of Jermiah Red at BJs. They brew it at this location. I also got a bottle of Angel Envy bourbon. I got it for tomorrow but I’m having a couple of glasses and a nice big shot tonight.

The scouting report on Angel Envy: Nice aroma, a little fruity with a dark chocolate hint and possibly a little maple. Very smooth. At 39.99 a bottle at Costco, I rate it as something to keep on the shelf.

  3. Berger says:

If Kinlaw returns and shows the stuff he has shown when healthy, we have to be the favorite in the NFC. He is unstoppable on most plays. He is a lot like Armstead but a much better closer.

  4. unca_chuck says:

I hope against hope Kinlaw can sty in the field he is a beast when healthy.

I really liked Great Basin Brewery when I was in Reno a while back. Loved their Truckee River Red.

This game will tell if Kyle wants to win the last 3 game or just cruise. I think he needs to keep Purdy fresh and should just play like they are still fighting for a playoff spot

  6. Irish Kevin says:

I will never understand the run up the middle on 3rd and 1, every team just loads the box. A sweep, a screen anything but that stupid run up the middle

  7. alleykat69 says:

Wtf call was that after burning a TO and they call a 4th and 1 clogged up run by Juice who pitches it to CMC with no chance to make it!!!

  8. Irish Kevin says:

The announcers just called it, both teams are defending the run very well. Kyle needs to see this and start passing the ball.

  9. Irish Kevin says:

Wow, Kyle called a run that wasn’t up the middle! And what does he get for that call, yep a TD

  10. Winder says:

    Ray Ray is a keeper.

  11. Irish Kevin says:

    Well that sucks

  12. willedav says:

Heineke outplaying Purdy so far. D gonna have to hold them again in red zone.

  13. willedav says:

And there it is, tied up at half. yuck

  14. Winder says:

They have a good defense and playmakers on the O. I figured this one was gonna be tough.

  15. willedav says:

Ah that’s more like it. Purdy getting it done in the air. Beauty of TD.

  16. Irish Kevin says:

Yeah, amazing what passing the ball can do

  17. Irish Kevin says:

What the fuck was that on 3rd and 17?

  18. Irish Kevin says:

Should have blitz on that last play. Wouldn’t have had time to throw

  19. willedav says:

Purdy rolling now that they’ve opened things up.

  20. Irish Kevin says:

The D needs to step it up, that last TD drive by Washington was too easy

  21. unca_chuck says:

Finally getting pressure, but the offense is not doing much in close.

  22. alleykat69 says:

Say what Willis? That was one hell of an interception Jordan wrestling that ball away from 3 Redskins OL men! Got 3 points as McGlincey keeps screwing up with his offside BS costing a potential 6 points!!

  23. Irish Kevin says:

With Wentz coming in the Niners need to score here

  24. Irish Kevin says:

    And that’s the game

  25. unca_chuck says:

Hell of a game by the defense. And Kittle had a hell of a game. Purdy continues to impress with his reads and pocket presence. Too many penalties. Not a very clean game by the offense.

Washington’s defense is no joke. Esp with C Young back. Niners didn’t have much luck running but for the end around by McCloud. But the offense showed patience in waiting for the big play opportunities.

    Solid game.

  26. Irish Kevin says:

Some people on Social Media say Brock has not faced a great defense, sounds like a crock of crap to me

  27. Barleyfreak says:

I gotta be real here, and acknowledge our progress. If you had told me when we were 3-4, that we’d be 11-4, I’d have said please pass the bong, and keep it coming. But kudos to Lynch, for getting CMC, and to Shanahan, whom I have railed against for not being perfect and putting players in unnecessary positions to injure themselves. We are a really good team. Our D is champion level. Purdy is not Mahomes or Allen, but what he has shown so far has already erased any uncomfortable comparison to Mullens or Beathard. He’s a gamer. This is a formidable team. Bosa, our DL, our LBs, secondary, even unsung Gibson Jr, all combining to create a watchable, entertaining, I am glad to be a niner fan team. Heck, I would not bet against us. Yeah, solid game, I have to take the positive road tonight my fellow 49er homies. We are F-ing good. It’s good to be a niner fan.

    Happy Christmas all.
