Well, There You Go

Yes, the curse is tradeable. Not much to say about this one other than I saw this coming from a mile away. So done with this vanilla bullshit offense. The defense is being wasted by the likes of our crappy QB play, our predictable play calling, and the unreal sight of seeing our linebackers dropping 20 yards to prevent dump-offs and thius giving Wilson open space to scramble for whatever he needs to get the 1st down.

Too much bad shit to write about, but let’s start with this. I’ve been saying for oh, 4 years now that Shanahan need to throw more on 1st down. Mainly because we run on 1st down 99.95% of the time. So when we came out throwing on 1st down, I thought, great! Open things up! What happened? Guys were open, we drove down the field, and scored a TD.

Cool! What happened on the next 4 series? WE STOPPED THROWING ON 1ST DOWN. The result? FOUR punts. This is what I mean when I say Shanahan stops this offense more than ANY DC does. Kyle went into turtle mode halfway through the 1st quarter and didn’t let up until he had given up the lead.

Yeah, fumbles, pressure, blah blah blah. Jimmy looked pathetic. He STILL makes rookie mistakes. Taking a safety was a great play in that he threw a pick 6 after walking out of the end zone. He had Deebo wide open on a deep route but instead threw to Aiuyk double covered RIGHT underneath Deebo. Tipped away for an incompletion. He missed a 4 yard fucking slant on 3rd and 3. He threw into triple coverage for a pick. His ability to avoid pressure is worse than George Blanda. And he’s dead.

Another wasted game for the defense. They played well for the most part, but Ryan did somehting that bothers me no end. What kills me is seeing ALL the linebackers dropping 15 yards into coverage on a 3rd down and long late in the game and thus opening up the middle of the field for easy scrambles. It kept that FG drive going, and naturally we declined a holding call that would have pushed the Broncos out of FG range (we’re in fucking DENVER!) and they kicked the game winner.

Yet another stellar scoring barrage for the Shanahan offense. 3. But we only scored 2 for the other team rather than the 7 last week.

I had such high hopes for this team this season, but I’m flat disgusted now. Shanahan is killing this team. I hope Jed comes out of his hole and says SOMETHING about the state of the franchise. We look like a sub-.500 team right now and that is absolutely atrocious.

Oh, Jimmy. Don’t suck so hard.

49er offense = Boring and predictable. Maybe I can figure something else to do on Sunday’s.

Your last paragraph about sums it up. I had such high hopes, too. Not only that, but I still believe we have the talent on this team to be a top 5 team in the NFL. Just what the fuck kind of plays are you calling? Just a classic Shanny and Jimmy fucking G game. Come out on the first drive and put 7 up like it’s what we do and then completely shit all over the god damn field for the next 3 quarters while making the most mundane and dumbest of mistakes. Bruh, 1 dude in NFL history has ran out of the back of the end zone. Congrats, Jimmy, you’re now number two you idiot.

But I didn’t even go to bed mad or disappointed. I figured this would happen. We know what we got, why do we think it’s ever going to change? Why would it change in a week 3 contest when it won’t change for a damn NFC championship contest. If we lose the next two, I’d fire Shanny before the bye and let Demeco take over. Any chance we could give up Kyle, Lynch, and a first round pick for Mike McDaniels? We seem to love letting talent walk out the door. Please tell me the media out there isn’t just letting him go about his Monday like nothing happened. Please tell me they’re starting to hold him accountable?

I’m with you, Winder. I’ve been a fan for a lot of years, and Erickson, Nolan, Singletary or Chip couldn’t break me…but this…I feel like there were so many better things I could have been doing with my life and sometimes it gets really old. Maybe I need to get on this Detroit Lions team. How can you not love Dan Campbell and the way he runs that team. Gosh dang.

  4. Berger says:

I think Jimmy will play much better next week because if keeps playing QB like what we just saw, maybe we try Purdy? I’m hoping that Jimmy was just rusty from not playing for so long. I don’t think that is it but I’m hoping. What I’m actually thinking is, he just had an off night. He looked horrible. I would imagine that Dan Orlovsky was happy.

It’s the cherry on top for me.
Give up 3 Picks for Lance.
Bust out the RG III play list.
Then, after figuring Mr Irrelevant would be a good idea until you trade Jimmeh….
I’ll agree with Berger in terms of the rust factor and lack of reps.
    However, everything Chuck said.
Shanahan is a gimmick and Jimmy has a noodle arm until proven otherwise.
Danny Gray the deep threat, along with Ayuik, can’t be too optimistic about the state of the playbook without Lance.
Run Shanny Run ’22 with an interior OL fresh off the crazy train.
    AD99 is buying 🖕

  6. NJ49ER says:

Now we add a high ankle sprain for Trent
Rams week is fast becoming an urgent affair for Jimmy to pull his load.
McVay v. Shanny and whether Shanny can do something other than vanilla.
    Go DeMeco…

Disheartening for me to see was how deep the LBs were dropping late in the game. The scrambles that weren’t there for Wilson suddenly were when the LBs were dropping 10 yards off the snap.

This conservative shit just isn’t on the offense.

  8. unca_chuck says:

Matt Brieda for the 1st down! Why is it the guys that get hurt with us every year seem to not get hurt when they leave?

Unreal penalty in this Giants/Cowboys game. Diggs runs into the WR and they call it OPI.

  9. unca_chuck says:

    Giants are being dumb.

  10. alleykat69 says:

Losing Trent Williams the best LT in football 4-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain is a death blow!
I just can’t believe the 49ers would have Jimmy by himself on adjacent practice field not getting reps? no play book? all because they wanted to dump his ass then change their minds on the restructure? Its not on Jimmy right now at all, it’s all the stupid management decisions and very little Reps with the 1st team offense is killing them right now..

  11. unca_chuck says:

Well, it ain’t like he’s coming to a new team and learning a new system. He should be pretty well versed in the plays.

But Shanahan bears most of the responsibility for the record of this team and the shit-storm that he should be heading his way.

But no one in the media around here seems to think Kyle is nothing short of Bill Walsh Jr. Shanahan should be feeling a TON of heat for the absolute ineptitude of this offense at this point. Regardless of wasting his QB.

This Monday Night Rams game is gonna be a gigantic one. If Kyle shits the bed and this team dicks around with short passes and innumerable runs going nowhere, Jed will have no choice but to come out of hiding and do something. Say something. Hey, we seem to have a pretty good track record against McVay, so maybe Shanny pulls a rabbit out of his ass like his dad pulled a booger out of his nose last night.
