How Can We Miss You if You Won’t Go Away?

Yeah, yet another rumor that the Panthers are still interested in Jimmy G. Sure, it could happen. Will it? God only knows. Still think the sage drags on till late June. Deebo will either be signed or not, but he will sign. The front offce usually takes their time on these types of deals, so I don’t see anything off-putting yet.

Other than that, we have the Warriors playing the surprising Dallas Mavericks, who ran the Suns out of their own building last night in a humiliating slaughter.

Good times. I think we can take Dallas much easier than Phoenix, so there’s that. I also think Boston takes the Heat, so Celtic/Warriors in the NBA finals.

This really is a dead zone for the Niners right now. There is pretty much no news at all. Hope the Warriors take it all but won’t be upset if they don’t

The Giants just got boat-raced by the Cardinals on Sunday to drop a series, ending the week on a dour note. But most of the week was spent winning, and it hardly seems like anyone should be worried. We long ago answered the riddle of “Are the Giants good?” in the affirmative. Now, we have moved on to other questions.

Is the Giants’ offense better than it seems? (Yes.) Could your grandmother, the one with the bad hip, strike out Joey Bart? (Maybe.) Could any of the free agents the Giants didn’t sign have helped them? (Surprisingly, Grant Brisbee deduces, only a few.) You know things are going well when most of the ink spilled this week was to scrutinize the Connor Joe Era and pick apart small trades that sent Mauricio Dubón to the Astros and brought in Donovan Walton from the Mariners.

But the biggest unanswerable question remains: If you have a beard, do you have a mustache?

Dubon isn’t as beloved as Duffy. But the chatter will last. Fucking Coors field should just get rid of the outfield walls.
