Well, it looks like we’ve signed everyone BUT Trent Williams. Emmanuel Moseley got a 2 year, $10 million deal, Kyle Juicechick got a 5 year, $27 mill deal, and we also just signed Jason Verrett to a one-year $5.5 mill deal, and now Dee Ford agreed to a restructured 2 year, $24 mill deal. The restructure takes came of the $11 mill they’d be on the hook for if he was on the team, but hurt. The restructure means they are banking on him not being able to pass a physical come April Fools Day. For insurance purposes, they just signed OLB Samson Ebukam from the Rams, 2 years, $12 mill.

The 49ers are also apparently interested in Mitch Trubiscuit. Say it ain’t so! But I guess we are still looking to sign Williams. Kendrick Bourne looks to be signed by the Patriots, and while I like him in the red zone, hopefully we won’t miss him that much.

Anyhow, as it stands, I like what they’ve done so far. Minus Trent Williams.

I really wonder how hard the Pats want Jimmy G back. But please God, say no to Trubisky!

And, funny thing is, we may end up with Sanders again. The Saints let him go. Bourne gets 3/$22 mil from the Patriots.

And Mullens is officially gone. Non-tendered.

  2. NJ49er says:

    Mullens is damaged goods now.
    Smart to wait and see.
Cam did a 1yr deal with Pat’s, might be an insurance move regarding Jimmy?
I’d still like to at least see a restructuring move with Jimmy to get money for Trent.

  3. NJ49er says:

Trubisky could be an indication of interest from Chicago for Jimmy’s service too?
Home coming for Jimmy wouldn’t be hard to imagine.
Trubisky is a FA, so it would be something to consider, in terms of a trade to Chicago.

I don’t think Jimmy’s going anywhere this year. No one is gonna pick up Mullens until they are sure he’s healthy so we could just as well resign him later. CJ is probably history. Kinda bummed that Bourne is gone but I am sure we didn’t have that kind of dough for him. I wonder if a happy go lucky attitude will wash in NE.

  5. Winder says:

I have got a feeling we won’t be able to get Trent back, he’s looking for a long term big contract and i don’t think we can do it.

Free Agent Frenzy is going wild especially in NewEngland as they add 2quality TE’s in Hunter Henry&Jonnu Smith,LB Matt Judon,Bourne,Agoluar (sp)for added depth at receiving as well..

Yeah I’m with Winder if the 49ers are going to be able( but hopefully 🙏 can) resign LT Trent Williams the #1 F/A available and who’s in the drivers seat with several teams willing to shell out the big bucks..

So glad to have Juice Back, he does so many things well in the Niners schemes , great blocker, can catch out of the backfield on occasion ( wheel route anyone). Got a kick out of John Lynch line after announcing the signing..”Anybody feel like some Juice?

  7. NJ49er says:

Falcons just restructured Matt Ryan to free up some cash.
If we lose Trent due to money, and don’t do the same with Jimmy’s contract, it tells me they weren’t seriously making it a high priority to retain him.
It’s fine to stick to a budget, I get it.
Tough business all around but, LT is a position of high value, protection for your highest paid player.
I’m not impressed with Lynch and Shanny to select well in the early Rounds to replace him.

    • alleykat69 says:

Yeah NJ with Trent being the most sought after FÃ and won’t be taken a discount for sure and rightfully so with his top of the pack metrics, the Niners are going to have to shell out top of the market and make him the highest OL men in football.
If they lose him I would think they have to draft Rashard Slater to replace him and CB second pick?
But you’re right Shanny &Lynch after blowing that top pick on Thomas I get worried 😧 on what they will do..

      • NJ49er says:

McGlinchey’s Draft slot is about in line with this year’s slot too AK.
I’d venture to say he hasn’t impressed many of us.
Call me skeptical to give Lynch another whack at replacing him.
I like Slater, along with Dillon Radunz from NDSU as a potential cheaper option.
He caught my eye in Mobile and, I read recently that he’s been working with Joe Staley.
He’s likely to be around well beyond Pick 12 too.

  8. unca_chuck says:

Well, we have a 4/$80 mill deal on the table for Williams.

  9. NJ49er says:

Trent’s services are retained and they’ll get Alex Mack too.
Happy St. Patty’s day to us 😀

  10. unca_chuck says:

Wow. God Damn! Jimmy better play his ass off. Mack is a great signing as well. The line should be much better

  11. Winder says:

Great News. Didn’t think we could do it. Waiting to see what’s next.

  12. unca_chuck says:

We may be out of money. TIme to start restructuring deals.

    Jimmy.
