Game Day 5 – Jacques Cousteau’s Revenge

Here we go again. Another bad east coast team comes to Santa Clara after travelling west. Another chance to pad the record against the Miami Blowfish before the good teams roll in. The good news is the offense is getting healthy. Jimmy G, Raheem Mostert, and Deebo Samuel are back so we should be able to score.

The defense is in a state of disarray, but I think Dre Greenlaw is returning, so team speed just went up a lot. He has been missed terrible.

And this is also a big game for Kyle Shanahan. For me, his play calling and decision-making has been sub-par so far this season. His time management isn’t as bad as Snappie Khaki, but he seems to be unsure come 2-minute warning time. I’m also disappointed when we go away from plays that work.

The misdirection runs that work so well seem to vaporize as the games roll along. The run game seems to dry up when we aren’t trying to be less obvious. Which leads to 3rd and unmanageable. And sacks. ince our QBs are challenged with avoiding sacks, it leads to fumbles and bad decisions.

Raiders about to beat the Chiefs.

The refs have more yards than we do.

Coaching is failing big time. Line calls not very encouraging as they let the blitzer come free.

Into the cellar with a bullet.

And that was the “easy” part of the schedule.

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yup, playing like this and we will be 2-10.

Maybe the Niners will give up 50 points like Dallas did last week

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

This team has become miserable to watch again.

  8. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

    2 games of complete ineptitude

  9. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

If Witherspoon turns around, the ball is right to him.

  10. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

The Niners will have to go no huddle the rest of the game

  11. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

And if Miami scores a TD, the Niners should just help Miami run out the clock

  12. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

5 TD’s to win the game.

  13. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

3 TDs and 3 2 pts conversions. Our defense needs to do more than nothing

  14. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Atrocious play call there.

    Ohlone sweat lodge time Jed

  16. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Shanahan is just terrible at short yardage. He’s running all his guys on 5 yard dig routes on 4th and 2. Where’s a throw to the flat for an easy completion? It isn’t that hard.

  17. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Hmmmmmmmmm. Teams are hitting our QBs 10 times a game. But let’s keep the 5 and 7 step drop pass plays. NEVER use quick sets and slants. No 3-step drops and getting the ball out fast.

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    This is just silly now.

  19. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Like Sean McVay before him, people have figured out Shanny’s tendencies and are stopping him.

Then again, the line play has been atrocious, which leads to terrible QB play, which leads to losses.

    0-3 at home.

Playing for a Draft pick now
    We suck

  21. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Teams generally ignore all the pre-span motion and pay shit straight up now. I just wish Shanny would help out his QBs by getting the ball out faster. Rare are the 3 step drops and quick slants.

  22. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Wow I didn’t know Ryan was 37 years old, he was more mobile than the Niners 3 QBs

  23. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, He’s no spring chicken, yet he escapes pressure better than any of our guys.

Maybe we should re-sign Kaepernick. At least he can run.

  24. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Mostert 90 yards, I have always said I will let a RB run up and down the field, if you don’t score who cares how many yards a RB has

  25. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

There’s nothing wrong with running. But if you can’t protect the QB, they become ineffective.

We have yet to adjust to all the pressure our QBs face.

    New thread is up.
