Too Much Time On My Hands

Well, not really, but it sure feels like it. Still working at this point, but for how long?

Anyhow, if you want to hear the details of why we traded DeFo, it of course had a lot to do with DeFo’s agent. A guy who drives a hard bargain.

Other than that, thinking of posting highlights of various things? Shit, I don’t know.

Just got 4′ of fresh powder in Tahoe, and no one to ski it. This really stinks. I mean, along with everything else.

I guess the discussion around Emmanuel Sanders will determine our pick at 13.

I think we let Sanders walk despite his success here. We need a game breaker.

When it comes down to it it’s all about the money. I liked Buckner and hope he has a great career with Indy. Still got to wonder if he would have taken a little less to stay with the Niners. Guess not.

  3. unca_chuck says:

You have to wonder. But I’m sure he’s listening to his agent. What Richard Sherman did a couple years ago in working out his own deal in his own best interest was something other players should do. The greed factor, while I understand getting what you can, overrides situations where someone like DeFo could work out a deal to stay.

This really stinks, all right. The fact that you’re spending all of your time hanging out with Rosie when you could be actually writing intelligent posts for a change is pretty disheartening.

I’m sure the depletion of hand lotion supply combined with the surplus of cheap beer has left poor Chuck cognitively impaired to make any sort of football sense.

They don’t need Sanders, just another long list of 33 year old guys like Pierre Garçon, Torrey Smith that we’re wasting roster spots instead of younger potential talent being blocked.Right now you can draft a speedster talent at 13, to compliment Samuels, Bourne solid role player, hopefully you find out what you have in Hurd, Taylor possible return to slot receiver, they’re is 5 right they’re along with TE Kittle, should be a nice arsenal for Jimmy G to work with..

    • Winder says:

If it’s possible i would still like to keep Sanders for one more year. He truly has a talent for getting open. We can still pick up his replacement somewhere in this coming draft. Who knows what we are gonna do with that 13th pick. I think this years draft is gonna be way more fun than what we have had to put up with over the years. Nobody’s gonna have special group practices the media doesn’t have much of anything to say. It should all be close to the vest.
Don’t remember where i saw it or if it’s even true but Hurd’s back isn’t getting better. If he can’t make it this year he is probably done.

  6. alleykat69 says:

Sanders signs with Saints 2 years 16mil incentives could reach 19 mil..
Too much imo for a 33 year old.Go young and save cap money..💰

  7. unca_chuck says:

Huh. Figured s much that he’d end up out of our price range. Means that the draft is where we get WR help.

  8. alleykat69 says:

I think the 49ers are leaning towards WR Henry Ruggs .Too many intangibles to ignore.World class speed,(maybe faster then Tyreek Hill and that’s scary) toughness, good route runner, ability to separate obviously, a Shanny type spread the field threat, has Jerry Rice type hands as well 10 1/8 sure never hurt him!! Doubt Jimmy G could over throw this guy like he did Sanders in the SB…

  9. unca_chuck says:

Maybe i said it on Flav’s blog, but of the 3 I think Ruggs is the most polished guy of the three. He should be able to step in and make an immediate impact.

  10. NJ49er says:

I still wouldn’t rule out an interior DL replacement for DBuck at 13, especially if Brown or Kinlaw get there.
WR/OT/CB makes a ton of sense as well.
    Nice to have options….

Gotta see whether AZ pairs Murray with CeeDee ahead of us too, along with Gruden having need as well for his WR room.

  11. unca_chuck says:

I seriously doubt they are gonna get another D lineman when they can get something decent as a FA. They need a WR or a CB. I’m thinking they go WR as one of the top 3 will be there and they all look NFL-ready.

  12. Winder says:

Hard to say what they are gonna do. They sure won’t let anyone know at this point. We need to strengthen quite a few positions this year. We gotta address DB’s, WR’s, and probably both lines. Maybe we trade out of 13 or maybe we pick the BPA. If nothing else it should be interesting. By this time last year it was almost certain we get Bosa.

  13. unca_chuck says:

New thread is up. WR, CB, then all bets are off.
