Breaking News! Draft News!

Sorry. Not much changing around here or anywhere. We did sign Charger WR Travis Benjamin. A fairly low-production guy who has been various flavors of hurt these past few seasons. But he did have a 68 catch, 966 yard year with the Browns. With Josh McClown as his QB. Shocking. But hey, he’s a cheap vet who is available and decent.

Still think WR is our #1 need in the draft. Go CB at 31. We are 23rd in cap room, so there ain’t a lot there, but we have some flexibility. I’d think Goodwin will be traded/cut to free up a little more room, but we’ll see. I’m sure Lynch and Co have more deals in the works.

The news out there now is that the NFL owners want to postpone the draft instead of having it at the end of April. It has already morphed from the feeding frenzy that would have been Vegas to some sort of online deal, but I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Frankly for me, it’s a nice diversion from the fucking Coronavirus, so just do it online, and we can all enjoy the fun. Stay safe, everyone, and carry on.

i was hoping the draft would go off in April but it makes sense to hold off until they can check out the players physically and interview em. Big investments so it probably will be at a later date. It also sucks about baseball since i was planning to get back into the Giants. I have always loved em but the last few years i didn’t keep up closely. I even drafted a couple of FF teams. That is one way that i stay informed since FF baseball is way different than FF football. To win in baseball you just about gotta stay on top of it everyday. More players go on the DL than they do the IR. Anyway, stay inside as much as possible everyone.

Benjamin is a good punt returner who gives us insurance at slot WR if something happens to James or if Taylor does not make it back. We still might take Lamb or one of the other two at 13.

Yeah, I’m thinking we go WR more and more. Far as I know the draft is going on as scheduled. Something like GMs at their own facilities making picks.

    No giant throng in Vegas.

We lost Sheldon Day to the Colts.

Huh. Decent back up on the line. We’ll pick someone up.

As much as I like Ruggs he might be a stretch at 13.The more polished Juedy are Lamb might be the safer pick.I wonder also if they go after that CB Henderson, another major need though I really think Moseley did a great job.Henderson at 13 probably to high, but at 31 a steal if still available..

I get the feeling we go OL if we stay at 13. I just don’t see either Lynch or KS taking a WR there.

  7. Berger says:

Jerry Jeudy is the best WR since Calvin Johnson. I doubt he’ll be there at 13 but he might. I would consider trading up for him. I rarely want a WR min rd 1, Jeudy is an exception.

    • alleykat69 says:

Yeah the 49ers moved up in the draft to grab years ago to draft another WR named Jerry, that just turned out to be one of the best picks and player in NFL history! So I’m all in for another Jerry anytime!

  8. Winder says:

Today we lose Elijah Lee to the Lions. I guess being a 49er wasn’t as great as was perceived. We are losing quite a few key back-ups not good.

  9. unca_chuck says:

Well, some of these guys want to start.
