We have almost hit the weekend anyway, as the clock slows down to a crawl as we (I think) get closer and closer to KICKOFF!!!!!! at 3:30 pm.
Fortunately, I don’t really watch too too much regular TV so I’ve missed out on:
a) The Kobe Bryant sainthood proceedings (according to Bob Costas, it’s “OK” to be a rapist if you can play basketball well), and
b) The Super Bowl hype machine.
It was weird to watch the teams come out together on Monday and hang around each other, but that’s today’s NFL. No one is saying too much to be bulletin board fodder, but Frank Clark did say that KC’s main goal is to put the game into Jimmy G’s hands by stopping our run game. Frank Clark was also spotted this morning wearing a hoodie with Trump and Kanye on it for some reason. But I digress.
Other than that, the pundits are all behind KC for the most part as their offense cannot be stopped and we are merely pretenders. This game, like most of them, will be won in the trenches. I like our lines over KCs.
Mahomes is the X factor in all this of course, as he can make hay out of shit, but the defense just needs to stay in their assigned spots and not let Mahomes run around and buy time. Tennessee did it with Lamar Jackson by pressing in from all sides, and not letting Jackson break contain.
I have always hated the Lakers but I thought Kobe was one of the very best to play the game. i just thought it was a terrible way to go not only for him but everyone on board. If we can put a plug in Mahomes then this game should be in the bag. I still don’t feel comfortable about it though. I guess there are a whole lot of people in the business that don’t believe that can corral him. To me sports writers are wrong just as much as they are right. We shall see. I haven’t watched a whole lot of the SB showcases on players but what i would like to see is some of our guys on injured reserve talk about the team. I saw where McKinnon was interviewing players and one of them was DJ Jones. i would like to see Hurd speak up to see where he is at. My guess is McKinnon is gone unless he re-does his contract. But hurd is a mystery to me, on paper he is a superior weapon.
Goodwin didn’t get to travel with the team for some odd reason. He flew with the families yesterday. He’s likely gone anyway, but I just thought that was strange.
I Think Hurd is gonna be a stud.IU was very bummed he didn’t get a shot this year.
I think Goodwin is going back to track and field.
He’s going to concentrate on the Olympics this year anyway.
Sure was a tough ride for Goodwin. He looked like a deep threat they really needed. Then his wife loses a baby(stillborn)so tragic, the Niners did right, ga
Damm phone!!
Niners gave him a 2 year deal, though only signs of flashes of being good, then the injuries which has derailed him to the point where the 49ers will cut him even though he’s signed thru 2021 that can save close to to 4mil on cap money. No brainer with Samuels hopefully Sanders back and Hurd can show me something Chuck has more confidence in then other wide receivers drafted after him(McLaurin,Metcalf,AJ Brown to name a few)
Just saw Banjo Man!!!! Glad he made it!
Didnt see him at the champ game, figured he must have been sick.
Did see Gov Neusome, what a tool he is.
So far its 2-1 kc v niner fans in miami. I figure its miserable where they live so they came early. Expecting niner fans to show up tomorrow.
Banjo man is a legend!
Heard the 49ers gave him a complementary ticket for the game! Will be his 6th SB.
Good idea, need all the extra mojo they can muster..
I bought a Giants propeller hat from him in 1982.
The Giants had a fun team in 82. One of my favorites. One big problem with them was the right side of the infield couldn’t hit their way out of a paper bag. OMalley and Lemaster were good fielders but terrible at the plate.
Tom O’Malley. Ahhh, the great white hype. Chili dog and one flap down. We still had Joe Morgan, right?
yep and Kuiper was still playing so you knew when Kyp was on second with Lemaster and O’Mally the offense was gonna have to come from somewhere else. It was just something about that team that was special. It was a team of cast-offs. I think Reggie Smith was on it also champ Bailey was on it and i know there were a couple more that it was the end of the line for them.
Pretty sure Howdy was still on it also. He was one of my all time favorites. I wen to a lot of games that year and the player that was always make or break was still Jack Clark. It was infuriating to see him strike out so much.
Chuck’s mother is going to be one hell of a hype machine tonight. She’s no saint but she “plays ball” really well so it’s okay for her to be a gapist.
Well, I have to admit that this one has me stumped. The 9rs look solid defensively and that is usually how it’s won. However, KC reminds of a Nazi blitzkrieg and could be tough to stop. I can’t believe that we will run on them like we did the Packers. So more on Jimmy G.
Wasn’t Jimmie G a surfer’s Icon? Seems like I had a T=shirt with Jimmie G. in his woody giving a thumbs up and saying, “Surfs Up!”. In the background is a nuclear blast in the ocean downhill. Am I hallucinating or was there a surfer jimmy G.? From the picture surf was really up.
OSF
I’m going with hallucinations!
Well if Chiefs think they can fall behind early and big to both Houston& Tennessee and expect to come back against the vaunted Niners Defense, they have another thing coming, a bigtime loss in a blowout!!
Yup.
The Bosa Express
Consensus Defensive Player of the Year!
*Rookie, not Player – I’m predicting lol
yeah, he’s pretty much got it in the bag from what I have been reading.
John Harbaugh Coach of the year? Hmmmm. Balt was a good team last year. And the year before.
6-10, 4-12, 15-3? Come on, man.
