Talk around the league is that the 49ers are looking for a pass rusher, a good one, say Brandon Graham of the world champ the up-against-the-cap-wall motherfucker-ing Iggles. They can either ride his deal 2 more years, try to sign him to an extension in the next 2 years, or trade him for some needed cap relief and, say, a 2nd round pick.
That’s where we come in. We have more than enough cap space, and we have the picks. And we also have the desperate need for an elite pass rusher. They don’t exactly fall out of trees, but I don’t even know who would be available, or near the end of their current deals, or just MAY fall out of the proverbial numbers tree come training camp cut-down time.
Maybe another Elvis Dumervil type guy who just may have one last season left.
We will probably just get Elvis back. He’s a good and and more than likely economical.
Graham is good but probably not an elite pass rusher. He has 3, 0, 5.5, 3, 5.5, 6.5, 5.5 and 9.5 sacks in his 8 years.
Better than anything we’ve currently got.
I wouldn’t consider a 2nd rd pick for him. Not even a 3rd.
I’d do a 3rd in a heartbeat.
I’m glad you aren’t our GM.
Lol.
“Left Guard – Laken Tomlinson, San Francisco 49ers
finished the season with back to back strong games PFF Grade: 90.2”
That’s what I’ve been waiting for. Now I know why we didn’t bring in a big name free agent or high draft pick at G. The coaches seem to like Tomlinson and believe that with a year under his belt in this system and Staley and Richburg on either side he’ll finally live up to his potential as a 1st rd. draft pick .
Now one of our other two former first rounders needs to step up to the plate at RG. Garnett most likely with the odd man out being the main backup .
Lynch on tomlinson
“Laken is a very talented player who has improved consistently since joining the team one week before last year’s season opener Lynch said. “This offseason, (Tomlinson’s) hard work and dedication paid off as he continued to progress and performed at a high level”
Yeah a 30 year old who’s one year over 6 sacks was last years 9.5 performance doesn’t merit a 2nd round pick . I might take a chance on a 3rd but he’ll be looking for big money so nah.
How about a 3rd round pick and see if he’ll agree to a two year deal ? if we could get one more ten-ish sack season out of him this year it would be worth it IMO. This would give us the pass rush you need to make a serious playoff run
Like I said, I’d do a 3 in a second. He and Attachou could do some damage.
Would you do Armstead for Graham? That’s the latest grist in the mill. We don’t have the boatload of picks we’ve had recently, but I like Graham over Armstead even if he’s older.
AA hasn’t come close to the production Graham has, even in his worst year.
AA averages 1 tackle per game. Graham averages twice that. And the sacks aren’t even close.
AA is a good player playing injured and placed in bad positions. He will play well this year if healthy, I would keep him.
I agree
Foster suspended 2 games, I win.
Huh. That’s about 4 less than I thought. A win for the 49ers as well.
Armstead is a solid addition to our D-line , so no way .
We dodged a bullet with Foster ! Pot charge last year and a weapons charge this year but only a two game suspension ! Let’s hope he gets it together and keeps his nose clean going forward !
Should have said Armstead is a big piece of the puzzle on the D-line , so no way but you get the idea
Here’s another bit of good news
https://www.49erswebzone.com/articles/116796-george-kittles-rookie-stats-impressive-compared-high-profile-nfl/
“I accept the League’s decision and am sorry that my mistakes have hurt my team,” Foster said via a statement issued by the 49ers. “I have a responsibility to the 49ers, our fans and our community, and I am committed to learning from this situation and making better choices in the future. The support I have received over the last five months has been humbling, and I do not take it for granted.”
Sounds better than anything A Smith ever said.
I’d rather hear Rosanne sing the national anthem while having a tooth pulled than hear anything Aldon Smith had to say
Kittle came on late last year with Jimmy G. As did just about everyone else. But yeah, he stays healthy, he could be a 600 yard guy,
HAHAHAHAHAHA

great news for the organization and Foster.
All he has to do now is stay clean.
yep
Happy 4th of July!
Happy 4th 49er fans.
Happy 4th to all you outsider 49er fans.
well fuck me wrong blog
Happy 4th all. Let’s all keep our fingers intact. No Jason Pierre-Paul shit now. I won;t do you the pleasure of posting his hand pic. . .
Interesting tid bit
“Dez Bryant is still waiting to learn where his new NFL home will be. If it were up to the All-Pro receiver, who spent his first eight seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, he would join the San Francisco 49ers.”
I’d love to have Dez – for half his salary or even less. On this team, I just can’t see paying top dollar for 30 something guys like Graham or him.
He ain’t worth the headache. Not that we couldn’t ignore his bullshit, but that it would juust be an annoyance to the team in general.
Wonder if we could replace earl mitchell with
https://www.profootballfocus.com/nfl/players/johnathan-hankins/7830
After Linval Joseph left the Giants for the Minnesota Vikings, Hankins was expected to step into his role in 2014. Known as a run stuffer, Hankins surprisingly showed flashes as a pass rusher recording 7 sacks, 6 QB hits and 21 hurries. Hankins exceeded expectations as he recorded 51 tackles, 7 sacks and a forced fumble and was named to Pro Football Focus’ AllPro Team at Defensive Tackle.
Anything at this point would be better than what we have.
New thread is up Playoffs?!?
