The New Schedule is Here ! ! !

Well, sort of. The NFL in its infinite hype-grinding death machine of hyperbole only releases the preseason schedule and gives out the teams we play. But not the order. So, they dice up every little move coming out of the league office with a hint of anticipation. So, we got:

Week 1 Dallas
Week 2 at Houston
Week 3 at Indianapolis
Week 4 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

The teams we play are –>

Home opponents:

  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • Seattle Seahawks
  • Chicago Bears
  • Denver Broncos
  • Detroit Lions
  • New York Giants
  • Oakland Raiders

Away opponents:

  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • Seattle Seahawks
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • Los Angeles Chargers
  • Minnesota Vikings
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Our home schedule looks like what? 6-2? 7-1? We could conceivably run the table. Shit, that’s a fairly creampuff home schedule.

The away schedule looks like a much tougher row to hoe. Lambeau and Arrowhead (I don’t know what the fuck they call it now, but it’s Arrowhead to me, OK?)  are tough houses to win in. Chargers and Vikes? Not clear on what either are, but Minn is a very tough defense, and the Bolts can play very well at times. TB looks to be the only fairly easy game.

Away very well could be 3-5 if we do what is expected. 4-4 would be about as good as possible. Granted, even with a draft coming up, it’s hard to say what we will have and what the team will look like going forward into the season, but the wildcard certainly is in play. This season.

With Rueben Foster all but done in San Francisco, how about Roquan Smith at #9? Some people think he’s even more talented than Foster and ZERO off field issues.

My son is really off him saying he doesn’t shed blockers well, and isn’t quite big enough. He’s all about Tremaine Edmunds. Here’s a comparison of the 2:

Of course that guy picks Roquan over Edmunds.

Looks like number 9 will be a linebacker in the draft. Goodbye Foster.

Winder here’s the ‘Killer Version’ of Cortez the Killer for me –
Sure I’ve shared it before but….
    Never gets old – 😀

  4. Winder says:

Rob- liked that version of Whiter shade of pale, never heard that on before.

I still think we move back and take Landry if he is there. if not I think we take one of the CB’s or Safety’s.

I’m still on trading down for the guard Will Hernandez.

here’s my three top picks i hope we get
    aldon smith
    jim drukenmiller
    reuben foster ?

  8. Robert De Luca says:

suppose we had these LB’s on our roster right now
Patrick Willis , N avarro Bowman and Aldon Smith

  9. Robert De Luca says:

I’ll probably be at the Tampa game !

No one around here did. His track record is pretty impressive. As is his ability to drink himself out of a job.

  11. Winder says:

Dorsey hired him because he can evaluate talent. He doesn’t have to be the front man in Cleveland and can use his time more productively. That’s one of the reasons I think Cleveland is gonna nail it this year.

  12. unca_chuck says:

Yup. Scotty may have a drinking problem but he doesn’t have a picking problem. I think they get Saquon and Darnold with 1 and 4.
