Playoffs?!? Playoffs!!! Playoffs?!?

Week 2 of the full-on win-or-go-home football games. The AFC looks to be Pittsburgh and NE. I’d be floored if it doesn’t go this way. The NFC is more of a crap shoot.  Philly would be the pre-emptive fave if Wentz didn’t go down, but now it is Foles vs Matty Ice.  I’m going with the Falcons, even though they have been fairly underwhelming this season.

Minn New Orleans looks like another barnburner, but again, I’m going with the better QB in Drew Brees. The Saints have won on the road and this game shouldn’t be a prob.

Pitt should take care of Jax. I mean we beat them with our ramshackle team. Same with Tenn. If we are better than half the current AFC playoff teams, then we area lock next year. NE in a wipeout.

Ryan loooks like a scared rook out there.

  2. NJ49er says:

Just want to see Philly crash and burn before they hoist a Lombardi.
    Worst Fans in Sports.
    Period.

  3. NJ49er says:

LSU DE Arden Key / 6’6″/265 declared for the NFL Draft.
He’s another guy to keep an eye on as a potential piece for Lynch/Saleh to add to the Draft List.
QBs will be scattered within the Top 5, along with Saquon Barkley.
We should stand a good chance to see a quality option land at 9/10.
ND OT Mike McGlinchey could be a more coveted piece than ND OG QNelson for some of those ahead of us too.

  4. NJ49er says:

SMU WR Courtland Sutton also declared – 6’4″/220 –
Not sure where he’s slotted at this point as WRs go but, he’s a big target with great production in a pass happy Offense.
    Someone else to watch…..
Another Fat Man in the Middle for me – Da’Ron Payne from ‘Bama will go on The List.

    • Berger says:

Payne is a beast. He reminds a lot of Bryant Young.

      • NJ49er says:

        Excellent run stuffer Berger –
He makes The Fat Man in the Middle List without question 😀
No clue where he’s slated to go at this point but, I’d be happy to have him at some point if he lands in a desirable slot for us.
Derrick Nnadi from FSU is another one.

      • Berger says:

He does it all. He will be moving up the boards with the way he played in both play-off games. He is legitimate top 10 except maybe not this year with a bunch of QB picks possibly pushing him just outside.

  5. Berger says:

I hope Foster doesn’t turn into another Aldon Smith. He doesn’t seem as bad but there is definitely smoke.

  6. Nipper says:

I hope todays games are better. Too much D makes for a boring game. I hope Jax crashes and burns. They suck on offense.

  7. unca_chuck says:

Sutton is on my list of WRs. Big fast and strong. Ridley could be there at 9-10 though. I think I’d rather have Sutton though. He’s bigger and stronger. Ridley is on the thin sde.

Jax is taking it to Pittsburgh so far. I still think Pitts wins, but they look slow and off.

  8. unca_chuck says:

    Gutsy call by Jax there.

  9. unca_chuck says:

Pittsburgh looking overrated and slow. The point is a 15 yard penalty. Crippling someone for life is a 15 yard penalty. This is why the NFL is retarded.

Based on what I’ve seen so far, we are in the mix next year for one of the top teams in the league.

  10. unca_chuck says:

Pittsburgh had 2 4th downs and less than a yard. Big Ben falls down and gets both of those. Instead they run a failed sweep and miss a 12 yard pass.

  11. unca_chuck says:

God Damn. Say what you will about Big Ben but that play was insane. Some big balls there.

  12. unca_chuck says:

Wow. Bortles making the Pitts defense look like dogmeat. Bortles!

  13. Lurker John says:

How about those Jags? Nice response and Bortles is looking like a legitimate QB these days. 8 of 13 on 3rd down today and 42 points hung on Pitt in their house. Wow.

  14. Lurker John says:

Who picked this game to be a shootout? Not me.

  15. Lurker John says:

Unless the Steelers storm back here, there’s going to be a lot of questions to answer in Pittsburgh after this one.

  16. Lurker John says:

Vance McDonald with a dropped pass! Say it ain’t so, Vance!

  17. Lurker John says:

That stadium is emptying out with 4 minutes left in a two-score game.

  18. unca_chuck says:

Interesting call here. Pitts hasn[t stopped shit all day. I think they kick it and trust their D.

  19. unca_chuck says:

Well. That was horrible. A lot of bad coaching decisions by Pittsburgh.

  20. Lurker John says:

That might be the worst onside kick I’ve ever seen. It wouldn’t have gone 10 yards if it hadn’t been touched.

  21. Lurker John says:

Fournette has been a beast in this game.

  22. Lurker John says:

That should just about do it for the Steelers. What an upset. NFL kickers these days are scary good.

  23. unca_chuck says:

Crazy. The fumble for a TD turns out to be the huge play. That and the stupid 4th down calls. And the bad onsides kick call. All that says is they don;t trust their defense. Yeah when you give up 42 you can’t be trusted too hard, but really, you have to trust them for one stop in crunch time.

  24. Lurker John says:

Jags not closing this out very well at all.

  25. unca_chuck says:

    Big Ben still fighting.

  26. Lurker John says:

Jags cough up 42 points and 545 yards of total offense, but their O hangs 45 points on the vaunted Steeler’s defense. Entertaining game.

  27. unca_chuck says:

Pittsburgh made some incredibly stupid decisions in this game.

  28. Winder says:

Didn’t see that one coming. But it makes it interesting, Hope they can knock off NE next week.

  29. Nipper says:

Pitt. couldn’t stop a wet paper sack of shit. Somebody should get fired over this game. It was a disgrace. I’m glad I’m not a Steelers fan.

    • Nipper says:

I guess Pitt thought this game was the Pro Bowl. And the Jax wasn’t much better! New England should clean their clocks next week.

  30. unca_chuck says:

    Got that right, Nip.

Damn, just turned on this game. Minn killing NO. Wouldn’t mind seeing them go all the way.

  31. unca_chuck says:

I wouldn’t underestimate Jax’s defense. If they can pressure Brady, they could pull off the upset.

  32. unca_chuck says:

But seriously, folks . . . it ain;t gonna happen.

  33. unca_chuck says:

WOw, the no-look deflection for the pick. Minn is living large today.

  34. unca_chuck says:

This half can’t end fast enough for NO.

  35. unca_chuck says:

It’s up to NO’s defense now. The O finally woke up.

  36. unca_chuck says:

Casey Kasem is throwing ducks. He’s living lucky today.

  37. unca_chuck says:

The DB doesn’t even try to tackle him!

  38. unca_chuck says:

Would love to thee the extra point blocked and returned for a 2 pt conversion.

  39. unca_chuck says:

Or the Saints not even show up.

  40. Irish Kevin says:

What a terrible play by the CB for NO, all he had to do was wrap his arms around the WR legs game over instead he tries to up end the dude and goes right under him, misses him completely!! Learn how to tackle for next year!

    • NJ49er says:

Almost looked to me like he didn’t want to make contact for fear of PI?
Either way, whatever he had in mind, it almost looked like a dive to me.
Heard the PAT theatrics was a Vegas Rub too.
      Line was 5.5?
This League is looking more and more like the WWE.

  41. NJ49er says:

Let’s remember where Tom Coughlin is these days.
Belichick/Brady can’t be too comfortable with another Coughlin Team standing in their lane to the SB huh?

  42. unca_chuck says:

Heh heh! Let’s hope so, NJ. Crazy to me is all the underneath shit Jax was able (and Minn for that matter) to get at will. Bortles and Keenum aren’t going to beat you deep with any consistency but they got so many 12-15 yard plays off dumps to RBs and TEs sliding underneath the coverage.

Pittsburgh’s decision to go for that onsides kick should be roasted for 8 months in their papers.

    • Nipper says:

How did Pitt lose that game? How? The football world is upside down. Good is bad and bad is good.

  43. Nipper says:

Mostly back-ups are playing at QB now in the playoffs except for Brady. Ouch!

    New thread is up . . .
