These last two weeks are going to be interesting to say the least. The Rams an Jags are bona-fide top-tier teams that are at the top of the heap. Win both, and the league would take us very seriously. Go 1-1 and it would be a nice statement to the league about our ascendancy. Go 0-2 and battle, well, same kind of thing.
Get shelled in both games? Well, the attitude would be we suck and are a couple years away. That’s the feeling now anyway, so a win in either game would be gravy, but our draft position would be much better. The higher the pick, the better the trade value. Two competitive losses would suit me fine, but hey, it would be great to see us knock off the Rams in prep for next year.

The run D looks solid and figures to get even better with Malcolm Smith, Tartt and Ward coming back. But they have a desperate need for a quality edge rusher and one or two high quality cornerbacks. I like Chuck’s idea of Chubb. He looks like a beast. I know others have floated that idea too. I like what I’ve seen of him as well. As for corners, I haven’t a clue, but there’s got to be some out there, draftees or FA’s, I don’t care.
That said, this has been a remarkable turnaround. Like 12th said, the confidence level is through the roof since Jimmy G’s arrival. For anyone who still doubts what the most important position on the field is, the Niners and JG are case in point. The whole team has been lifted by this dude. From the early season offensive impotence to 44 points against the league’s #1 D. Who saw that coming?
This team is now competitive with anyone and a real blast to watch, end-of-game shenanigans notwithstanding.

This team doesn’t have any quit in em. I am sure with FA and the draft we will get some needed players. This win knocks us out of the Barkley race. I still think our Running game and OL is where we are the weakest, but that’s just me.
