Game Day!

The Jimmy G era starts, sort of. He’ll be watching from the bench and there’s talk he won’t start this season, but that is ludicrous. He’s here for his audition. He’s here to see if he’s a viable option before we decide on Sam Darnold/Kirk Cousins/Josh Rosen.

Could be win 1. Need to get a couple.

Big shout out to 12th for sending me his tix for the game today. My wife hasn’t been to the new stadium yet, so we’re gonna see win 1? Who knows, who cares. Thanks again, and I’ll buy you a couple next week when I’m there with my son. Maybe Irish will come along for the ride.

fitting end, bad luck after a momentum swing, this team is snakebit.

Injuries, penalties, turnovers, sacks. And the beat goes on.

  3. zumiee's avatar zumiee says:

Well, that’s not something you see everyday….an interception off of an offensive tackle’s head.

0-9, Giants might be as bad as the Niners, guess we will see next week.

NYG Defense allows 51Pts to LA today and, HC McAdoo suggests he might start Davis Webb at QB next week.
McAdoo needs a checkup from the neck up me thinks.

But yes, I agree 12th. NYG could be worse off than us at this point.
      We were expected to suck.
      Them? Not so much.

      • 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

Niners D is playing well enough to win a few of these games, ST too, but the O has no consistent OL blocking to speak of, limited run game, no recognizable WR, rookie starting TE and QB, and the team has so many key injuries its a real problem to get 45 warm bodies on the field and it gets worse each week.

Snakebit in an already difficult season.

      • NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

Other than that 12th? We might be suiting up the Equipment Mgr soon.
        Defense can’t get a blow.

      • 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

Seriously NJ, this injury bug is way out of hand.

      • NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

Ward breaks an arm last week, Tartt duplicates the same this week.
I agree 12th, the damage doesn’t seem to have an end in sight.
Guys are gutting it out and all but, this is unprecedented.

      • 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

Truth is Reid has been very useful this season and has played well even as a LB. I don’t think they really wanted him but he might have changed a few minds.

  5. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

Somewhat surprised that Fletcher Cox didn’t get any sort of punishment for breaking Staley’s orbital bone either.
That’s an injury that could have easily been avoided from what I saw last week.
I’ve seen fines for much less.

    • 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

I haven’t seen a replay of the hit anywhere, no flag no fine makes it seem accidental though.

I saw LoCo Jr speaking about this particular gameplay by Shanny Jr. I hate to admit it but he has a point, Niners threw 51 times and ran 16 behind that O line. How does that come to be? Trying to get BeatHard killed?

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Pretty dispiriting game after the fullback who’s name I can’t spell’s fumble and the ensuing AZ TD. BeatHard looks decent in small doses, but missed Goodwin bad on a deep out and Goodwin did him a solid by not tracking the deep ball earlier and missing it. Hyde had a nice game catching passes as Robinson and Bourne dropped passes. Beathard had a lot of chances to get rid of the ball but didn’t. But he did get hit some. Run blocking was non-existent.

Drops, fumbles, mistakes, penalties. The defense continues to play its collective ass off and yet come up short. The pick in the end zone was on our side and got the biggest cheer of the day.

MIssed the fight that got Hyde thrown out. Thanks again, 12th. It was actually nice to be in the sun today.

Beathard threw a ton of balls that were batted down. I didn’t think he threw that low, but he hit his own lineman for God’s sake.

NJ, tickets are hard to come by these days. I usually print them out and they don’t look very nice.

I can get you a program though.

      Much appreciated Chuck 😀
Any game day trinket makes a nice addition to the Man Cave.

    • 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

In years gone by the team mailed a sheet of actual cardboard tickets for each home game. Now its just electronic, you can print them or download to mobile device which is what I do.

You guys spend a lot of time and money following a loser.

    • NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

That puts you in the same line, following the losers too now, doesn’t it Spit?
We seem to handle it pretty well by comparison though huh?
We deal with it as Fans and, knew coming in, it wasn’t going to be pretty.

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Hey, if this is where you feel superior, son, more power to you. Glad I can help your damaged psyche a little bit. Then again, you spend a lot of time reading a blog about a losing team, so there’s that. Try not to be a chickenshit poser, Skippy. You may begin to be lifelike at some point. Hey, you can start rooting for the Rams! Fron-trunning child . . .
