We Well, it’s unofficial, but the Niners released their 2017 depth chart.
Notable is Dontae Johnson, starting RCB, Reuben Foster as our starting weak side linebacker, and Marquise Goodwin is our starting WR. Donlt know much about Goodwin other than he’s another small guy, but he’s blazing fast. That don’t help when you can’t stay on the field though. I’d expect Kerley to be the other starter, but all this stuff in set in pencil.

Basically our 3rd rd picks are 4th rounders. But the 3rd day should be fun. It will all be worth it if Lance turns out to be what’s advertised. Bosa should get his contract and maybe Aiyuk too. I think Kinlaw gets kicked to the curb, hopefully we can get a 4th rounder for him. Once again I am all in on the Giants, definitely one of my favorite times of year.

Once again seems like a lot of potential. Just gotta see who survives and what they can do. It’s kinda funny that lots of the players we waive end up somewhere else like Ellington. He will probably start for the Jets. I have never seen a clearer case of tanking than this years Jets. We might not win a bunch of games but I know in my heart that Lynch doesn’t have any tanking in his system. Our Niners will fight this year and that means everything to me. Should be a fun season.

I’m kind of surprised Harold is #2 at SAM. He hasn’t shown squat in his 2 years. He must be having a good camp. Same for Tank. He was widely rumored to be gone by the end of camp but there he is at #1 RDE. After all the squawking, there’s McDonald at the #1 TE. For all these guys, it may be a case of being used the right way. McDonald has had issues with drops in the past, but he had his moments last year and he’s quite athletic for his size. I still believe he can be pretty good.
You (or at least I) have to wonder how much of the poor defensive play last year was a result of bad coaching. The linebackers were badly out of position on countless running plays. Like the D line was engaging the blockers and not going after the runner while the LBs were dropping into coverage. Guys would get through the line and be free and clear.
As far as Harold goes, I think he needs coaching to thrive. He is active and fast, but gets himself out of position at times.
Yeah the coaching should be a lot better for this season. The defense should be more productive. Injuries that need an ambulance to the hospital hopefully will stop soon. Ouch!
