Fuck. This is Alex Smith all over again. Here we are once again in the middle of a quarterback controversy. One that is now accentuated by a wholesale coaching upheaval. You know, after last year’s dramatic coaching upheaval and subsequent talent drain. Alex Smith was the aw-shucks nice guy first round draft choice that was folded, spindled, and mutilated by a shitty team and a procession of coaches. Then, along came Jim Harbaugh. The coach who could do no wrong. During the middle of Smith’s successful run, he drafted Colin Kaepernick, a guy who played like a man among boys at Nevada Reno. Amassing over 10,000 yards in the air, and 4,000 on the ground.
Harbaugh made the move to his guy when Alex went down, and ushered Young Sir Alex out that offseason. With Kaepernick in place, they had a large amount of success together. then they didn’t as the offensive line caved in, and the front office bullshit machine got cranked to HIGH. Once the talent (and coaching staff) left, and the new regime came (and went) the team went into free fall. Which is where we are now. Cause and effect can be debated till the Earth slowly slips away into the depths of space, but the reality is, we are once again on the precipice of the unknown.
Chip has said he wants to see what CK has to offer. Jed has said he thinks CK should stay to see how things go with ol’ Chipper. Trent says CK will absolutely be on the roster after his guaranteed salary kicks in on April Fool’s day. CK? Well, if anything, he’s learned a hard lesson about dealing with this front office. Send out as much bullshit smoke signals and misinformation as you can and wait to see how the wind blows.
Make no mistake, there are teams out there looking hard at acquiring Colin. The usual suspects like Cleveland and Houston are making noise. Colin’s agent’s hairdresser’s mom floated the Jets out there, but they themselves pretty much quashed that by stating categorically that they want Fitzpatrick as their QB. The most intriguing to me is the rumors out of Denver. CK’s name popped up for Denver the moment Colin was benched last season. Payton is retiring, and Osweiler showed his ineffectiveness last year as Manning dealt with his injuries. Kubiak has an offense that he can excel in. An offense that utilizes a big-armed QB that he can now use on the move.
Now that we are here in the offseason, Kaepernick’s name has been linked again to Denver. As bad as things have gone for CK here these past few years, I still think Colin can play top-level football. Thing is it won’t be here. Yay. The Blaine Gabbert era is here. Funny thing is, he dumps off more than Colin’s Predecessor, the aforementioned Young Sir Alex.
Shoot me now.
Ya know how last year things just kept getting worse. I have a feeling that things might just go the same way. The exodus of players can’t be near as bad but I can’t see much of anything positive in the near future. The bullshit just keeps piling up.
Colin isn’t worth the trouble. He’s going to have problems where ever he travels. Bank on it.
I think Denver isn’t stupid, Nip.
Still and all a cluster fuck that isn’t ending soon.
The more interesting angle is what happens on April 1st.
If the money is paid to Kaep, his services are once again bound to SF.
Mo got F-Tagged by the NYJ today as well.
Moving Contracts in that scenario could easily be done if both sides are amenable.
However…..a REQUEST for a Trade can easily be squashed if the right suitor isn’t lined up.
I once again question Kaep’s heart to fight for the job, and, the Contract he already has.
Clean slate with Chip.
Open competition to regain your job hanging in the balance.
Seems to me Kaep isn’t comfortable making that effort.
Could this all be attributed to Kaep The Nessa Messa?
Hard to see leadership or, a pair of balls, if you don’t think you can beat out Gabbert to regain your job.
Here’s some material to whet your appetites for the Draft.
Post Combine impressions anyway…..

Just think the Clippers have the Condor as a mascot. News must be slow for this to matter.
His name is Chuck!
Had to look that up, Nipper. And you are right. The Clippers new mascot is a road-kill eating scaveger who happens to look like an eastern European cereal-shilling bird.
Oh yummy…….looks like a cereal Bullit would buy for himself.
As far as terrifying mascots go, no one can touch Pierre the Pelican.
Hate clowns? Hate giant prehistoric birds? We’ve got the mascot for you!
I bet he can play the sax or the trumpet.
Good lord
Just think of what kind of pic Chuck can come up with if Bulliet was the mascot on this blog……yikes!
Bullit……sorry Bullit for the typo.
Sign of the times……..a bunch of Bay Area newspapers are consolidating. That means less sports pages.
Gutty win by the Dubs. Curry and Iggy get a day off an still pull it out in OT.
Love him or hate him, Chip at least does stuff like this.

Good to know we are #1 in toughest schedule. NFC South and West have the hardest row to hoe.
Hi Buwwit! I see you are still lurking here, little fella . . . Good to see you are still quick on your feet.

The gift that keeps on giving
Good to see we brought back shaun draughn
Baalke seems to like Connor Cook. I wonder if we might grab him in 2 ?
If Goff is there @ 7 ya gotta take him. He’s the best chance for a future. Cook is another fucking head case, and he’s not all that great.
THats the prevailing wisdom, Winder. But since it’s Baalke at the wheel, we”‘ll draft a safety. Or a kicker.
Look I’m a 15-year-old boy that poops.
Try taking a giant shit V. You’ll feel like a new man.
You all can sing along.
They caught up with Kappy
V ……they let you out of the padded room? How long do you have at freedom?
Three blind mice be damned but Im not sold on Goff
rob- I am not a 100% sold on Goff but I am way more sold on him than Cook
Shit, Walterfootball has Wentz going #2. Goff at 7. I can see Goff doing fine. Cal has always run a pro offense, and Gof ran it very well. Cal’s issues were notoriously with their defense. Otherwise, they would have won a lot more games.
Wentz at 2 though is a huge leap of faith. Big and strong, but his level of competition leaves something to be desired. Shit, he was a high 2nd rounder after his last game. Now he’s the top-rated QB? Lynch? He’s CK II. High risk / high reward.
New thread is up…..
