Medic! Game Dayzzzzzz……

Another game, another set of injured players. Tomorrow’s game sees last week’s star Torrey Smith questionable with back and toe injuries, VMcD out with a concussion, Michael Wilhoite out with a high ankle sprain, and  both Tremaine Brock and Aaron Lynch questionable awaiting concussion protocols among the usual raft of dings and doinks on the rest of the team.

This leaves one healthy TE in Blake Bell, and likely a PS call-up for TE Brian Leonhardt. Still and all we better beat these ass-clown Browns. The chips and the draft slots will sort themselves out in the end. This season’s a wash anyway. Might as well see what we got. I’d like to see more of the young WRs . . .

Since all the coaches are on the “hotseat” I don’t see them taking too many chances. More than likely they will let the more experienced players stay in the game. It’s actually games like this that can be very telling on how a player responds. All I know is that if I’m a rookie playing for a spot I would be going balls out.

  2. Flavor says:

    Shaun Draughn revenge game.

    • Flavor says:

I just read what I wrote and I don’t think there could be a sadder ending to our season than that being the theme for this game…..

  3. rtfirefly says:

Down 10 with under 9 minutes left. The Warriors have scored 0 points in the 4th quarter. They are ice cold. This one’s gonna be tough.

  4. rtfirefly says:

Alas and alack! Wailing and gnashing of teeth! After all that to lose to a crappy Bucks team in the very last game of the 2 week, 7 game trip.

Congrats to the Warriors for their record breaking 24-0 start!

    24-1

  5. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, it had to happen eventually. Hell of a start though.

  6. rob says:

Omg llynch is out. Anybody besides me hoping Harold and Armstead pan out

  7. Irish Kevin says:

    D not looking so good

  8. Irish Kevin says:

    Nice block!!

  9. Irish Kevin says:

How do opposing teams have good opening drives and the Niners go 3 and out? The opposing team has that better of a defense or better defense?

  10. Irish Kevin says:

The only thing I can say about other teams O lineare way better than the Niners O line!

  11. 12th Man says:

They need to bring the safety down to stop the run. Take the risk of Johnny making the throws.

  12. Irish Kevin says:

    2 sacks already!!

  13. Irish Kevin says:

And the second 3 and out!!

  14. 12th Man says:

Another week when the Niners O looks flat to start the game. What happened to scripting the first 15 plays?

  15. Irish Kevin says:

And the D bails out the O

  16. 12th Man says:

    needed that big time.

  17. 12th Man says:

    Seriously Ellington.

  18. Irish Kevin says:

The Niners had better be looking at top O lineman the draft! The hell with getting another QB, or defensive player!!

  19. Irish Kevin says:

If they don’t get at least a FG out of this….

  20. 12th Man says:

Thats on Bell, didn’t jam his guy before the release.

  21. unca_chuck says:

    Where’s the pass rush?

  22. unca_chuck says:

You have to pressure Johnny fuckhead

  23. unca_chuck says:

Lynch s out? Fuck. Best thing that can happen is the Browns sticking with Nanzeil

  24. Irish Kevin says:

Making the Browns look like they are Super Bowl bound!!

  25. rtfirefly says:

Johnny’s looking like the best player on the field. It’s sure not Ellington.

    • 12th Man says:

Johnson is making it look easy. Play action off that kind of run production is right up Johnny’s alley.

  26. rob says:

Sorry man but tomsula’s got to go man. Two weeks ago it was time to go for it … not here on 4 th and one. Should be 7-3 right now

  27. unca_chuck says:

Wow. We are officially a college team. We are doomed by shiny things.

  28. 12th Man says:

Gabbert got jumpy, no surprise considering how he has been under pressure so far.

  29. unca_chuck says:

3 man rush just kills us. Pears is amazing in his consistent suckinesa.

  30. 12th Man says:

    Finally

  31. Irish Kevin says:

This is all on the O line, how can any QB or RB perform behind this shit??

  32. unca_chuck says:

Wow. Only took a quarter and a half to blitz.

  33. 12th Man says:

Gabbert was pissed at Simpson. At least its back to a one score game.

  34. Irish Kevin says:

Alex Smith, Colin Kaepernic, and one Gabbert, all of them have played behind crap O Lines!! When are the Niners going to address this issue!!

    • 12th Man says:

They did taking 2 guys in the first round. Need to draft another in the first round IMO. Hoping Kilgore gets it going soon.

  35. 12th Man says:

    Oh boy.

  36. 12th Man says:

Another TO from the backfield. Have to get points before the half.

  37. unca_chuck says:

    Easy to hate Manzeil.

    God we suck.

  38. rtfirefly says:

Johnny looks like the best Niner player on the field. The sack at the 2 (just before the safety that wasn’t) and that INT were all on him.

  39. Irish Kevin says:

22 plays 58 yards of offense, need I say more?

  40. 12th Man says:

Just grateful Dial blocked that FG.

  41. 12th Man says:

Getting old keep throwing so short of the sticks on 3rd down. Opposing D knows its coming.

    • Irish Kevin says:

Yeah it seems like the Niners are the only team to have their receivers go 8 yards, then turn and catch the pass

  42. 12th Man says:

Amsted just pancacked his guy on 3rd down. Huge power play.

  43. 12th Man says:

This O is really missing the TE position in pass and RG today. Not that they are explosive with them but without they are sorely overmatched in the trenches.

  44. 12th Man says:

    Just as I say that.

  45. Irish Kevin says:

Damn, throw the ball down the field. Quit trying to “just” get the First down!!!

  46. snarkk says:

Niner offense absolutely crap. 105 yards of offense into halfway thru the 3rd quarter. Against nearly the worst run defense in the league. What player would you keep on this offense if you could replace them all? I can’t think of one. Not even Staley. Well, barring a miracle, one more loss to get back to maybe a better draft slot. Though with Baalke at the helm making the picks, maybe a higher pick doesn’t matter…

  47. 12th Man says:

    unreal the tackling today.

  48. unca_chuck says:

Manhandled by the Browns. Can’t get much lower.

  49. rtfirefly says:

    464-91 offensive yard totals

  50. snarkk says:

Niners are making a 2-10 POS team look like a playoff squad. People should not even show up at Levi’s the rest of the season. Probably a lot won’t…

  51. unca_chuck says:

30 seconds after the play they throw a flag?

  52. snarkk says:

    adios…

  53. 12th Man says:

This is the kind of game that makes heads roll.

  54. unca_chuck says:

There’s winning with class and losing without it.

Hopefully Cleve doesn’t draft a QB next year.

  55. 12th Man says:

Poor tackling on D. Horrible O line effort. Flat to start the game, again.

  56. 12th Man says:

Time for another late game heroic comeback? Not likely.

  57. Nipper says:

Please fire somebody. Make someone walk the plank!

  58. unca_chuck says:

    Yet another 7 yard pass

  59. unca_chuck says:

We look like we are playing for that 2TD deficit.

  60. 12th Man says:

    9 sacks says it all.

  61. Nipper says:

Call the Shark Unit Out. Make sure they bring their appetites.

  62. 12th Man says:

blown out by the Cleveland Browns…

  63. unca_chuck says:

    Hmmmmmm. Worst loss ever?

  64. unca_chuck says:

Fun fact Bears FG kicker Robbie Gould missed an opportunity to tie the score vs Wash.

  65. 12th Man says:

Jax put up 50 on Indy!

    • NJ49er says:

I’m numb to our situation 12Th.
Feel bad for Frank in Indy though.
      He deserved better.

      • 12th Man says:

Somebody gets fired by Monday NJ, prob the OC.

Reality is Frank was the Niners best player for nearly 10 years and got close to a ring, but he was 2 years past his best.

Saying that, I didn’t see Indy going off a cliff this year and feel bad for Frank too.

      • NJ49er says:

Agree 12th, Indy has no D.
Frank went for Luck I’m sure.
Chryst is the likely escaped goat I’d figure.
Throwing against a team that can’t stop the run?
        Genius.

But, who cares at this point.
Embarrass Jed for whatever that gets us.
We hold a higher Pick in hopes of fixing both Lines…hopefully.

  66. Winder says:

Well, all I can say is “we are who we thought we are” or something like that. They should give us the first pick by defaulty.

  67. Winder says:

You know Cleveland is just a short trip to Youngstown. I hope everybody in the neighborhood digs it into the Yorks. Maybe if they fuck with mama enough things might happen. SeeYa Baalke.

  68. unca_chuck says:

Ouch. VD drops a 4th down pass. Wonder how his stock is doing?

  69. unca_chuck says:

Of course the Raiders reciprocate by moving backwards.

    • rtfirefly says:

They’ve tried hard to lose like they somehow managed to lose the Bronco game at home. The called a pass on 3rd and an inch in Bronco territory earlier, 12 yd. sack. Then ?????? they went for 2 with a 15-12 lead in the 4th. Missed, a simple EP would’ve given a 4 pt. lead. Then a high snap on a FG attempt and Seabass missed what would’ve put them up by 6. (Seabass missed 2 very makeable FGs at home vs. Denver; it was the difference in the game.)

  70. rtfirefly says:

The Browns came into the game with 887 yds. rushing in 12 games. They got 230 today.

  71. Flavor says:

I don’t know why the press questions for the players/coach focused on being prepared or not. The Niners stink right now. Lynch out, plus other guys on defense out. They’ve got Gabbert and Draughn and barely one WR and a TE just off the practice squad. They stink. It had nothing to do with Tomsula and not being prepared. You can only prepare what’s about to stink so well.
I will say this: (and I tried to say this earlier from my phone and it wouldn’t go through). I am sick and tired of pro athletes taking fake ownership of responsibility. When Big Sweat says “We all own this starting with me” just what the fuck does that mean? Ownership and responsibility have consequences if you fail, or at least it should. Just blabbering out to the world that you *own it* with zero consequence is faker than fake, IMO…..

  72. ewisco says:

the problem with absentee ownership is there’s nowhere to go with pitch forks and torches. sure, in the old days you could check them as baggage. another loss of our personal rights.

  73. snarkk says:

I’m watching ESPN highlights if the day. Amazing that offenses actually complete passes on wheel routes, flag patterns, slants, bubble screens, screens , posts, outs. Not to mention draws, sweeps, and off tackle runs. Fairly regularly. Amazing…

  74. NJ49er says:

    Jed owns this.
    Where is he hiding?
His answer is about the only answer that matters, yet he’s conspicuously absent.
Tomsula was his answer to making this right.
So far, nothing is even close to right.

    Let’s see what changes.
Someone will be sacrificed I’m sure.
    Maybe a locker room attendant?

  75. unca_chuck says:

I really thought we could do better on offense this season. Since that hasn’t happened, well, you get shit like yesterday. Yeah, they are running out of bodies. But the defense again just flat sucks. But it s hard for them to get rest when they play the entire 1st half. This shit jet piles on top of itself. A elf-generating shit show.

And with no pass rush, Johnny b goode had himself a day.

We lost in the trenches to the worst team in the trenches. Cleve is near the bottom in run offense and run defense. We couldn’t run or stop the run. 9 sacks? We’ll see if Gabbert is the next one to get the heebie jeebies in the pocket.

The Niners expected to walk all over this team. And did’t. This very much reminds me of Singletary where the team would follow a hard fought win with a piece of shit snack own. Just when you think they might have somethings going, they mail one in and get embarrassed.

  76. Nipper says:

Niners suck on the road. Niners suck at home. Niners just plain suck!

    • Nipper says:

JIM Tomsula should be fired for just looking dopey at his pressers! Gone today! Good riddance! The D line coach is a victim but who cares? Send him to Dallas. Jerry will use him as his dog walker.

    • rtfirefly says:

Lynch really deserves an award for this one. That has to be the biggest steaming pile of horse manure I’ve ever seen in a football article.

  77. 12th Man says:

Hmmm, well I am surprised to see nobody was fired today. Not disappointed, just surprised.

  78. unca_chuck says:

To all of you. The Niners would be stupid to fire anyone now. Well, at least not Tomsula.

He’s going down with the ship. I will however be very disappointed if EVERYONE isn’t shit-canned after the season. Jed won;t fire himself, but nearly everyone has to go in the front office as well as the coaching staff.

Hire a GM and let him make the rest of the decisions. SImple.

    New thread is up.
