Too Much Time On My Hands

Well, the full doldrums have set in. At least in the football world. I tell ya though this is a pretty golden time to be a Bay Area sports fan. The Giants are reigning World Champs, having won 3 of the last 5 World Series, the 49ers were oh, so close in the Super Bowl a couple years ago, and the Golden State Warriors just finished their improbable run to their 2nd championship in California by beating King James and his court of backups. Some are already casting aspersions on the Dubs as they didn’t have to face a) San Antonio or b) the Clippers, and every team they faced has point guard injuries to deal with. Well, tough noogies.

If San Antonio was so good, they shouldn’t have lost to LA. If LA was so good, they shouldn’t have lost to Houston. The Clippers BTW showed absolutely NO guts by blowing a 20 point lead in game 6. You play with the cards you are dealt. Were the Cavs crippled by injuries? Yeah, somewhat. But, again, tough shit. Tristan Thompson played defense about 100% better than Kevin Love could ever dream of. Did they miss his offense? Maybe, but shit happens. Did they miss Kyrie Irving? Sure. Could he have played defense like fucking Dellavedova did? Possible, but he certainly would have brought more offense. Thong is, you don’t know. If both teams get together at full strength would shit be different? No way to know.

Part of what helped the Warriors during the season was he fact that they had a strong bench. They had role players that could step in when needed. Lee, Bogut, Green, Thompson, and even Curry (and others) missed some time this year due to injuries, but they entered the playoffs fairly unscathed. This however, was tested when both Steph Curry and Klay Thompson both suffered head injuries vs Houston. Steph appeared to struggle for a few games after his injury, and Thompson certainly wasn’t his usual self during the finals. Everyone is banged up at this point in the season. You deal with the grind of the season, and the extra grind of the playoffs. At this point, the NBA should really think about shortening the regular season, as the playoffs are such a long haul.

Kudos to Steve Kerr and the Warriors for a truly epic season.  Let’s hope the Niners pick up where they leave off.

Chuck, stay calm and don’t blow a Head Gasket, lol!!!! Look people got it so backwards and that they forget about a few important things in American History. First of all these Confederates from the Southern States who loved slavery and you’re complaining about who were they? DEMOCRATS! And if my memory serves me correctly who freed the slaves you now care so dearly about? REPUBLICANS! Who was Jim Crow? A DEMOCRAT! Jim Crow laws, poll taxes and even created the KKK in Southern States! President Harry Truman belonged to the KKK! What was he? A DEMOCRAT!

It’s hilarious and only shows how deception works! The Democratic Party today is thought of as the political champion and proponent of the interests of black Americans. But for almost all of the history of this country, the Democrats were the party of slavery, secession, Jim Crow, lynching, segregation, and opposition to nearly every piece of civil rights legislation ever passed.

The Republicans were the party of abolition and emancipation. They opposed segregation, lynching, and Jim Crow. And they were the sole authors of nearly every civil rights legislation and amendment passed in the United States! Can you say a group of people have been brainwashed into believing something that’s not true?

So I ask you why do the Democrats lie to the Black Americans, is it just to get their votes and keep them dependant on Government Hand Outs? And secondly if you care so much why are you a Democrat? Or are you going to say F that to not only me who’s just hear keep it real and to tell the truth but as well to Freedom Of Speech that’s above all liberties that we have here in America?

    It isn’t now. Bye bye

Lincoln’s secretary was named Kennedy. Who cares? This is football, not revisionist history. Get on point or you will once again be banned.

Blowing heads is your game, skippy.

The independent Chuck gets awful mad when you mess with his Democrats.

  6. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

I’ve voted independent more than anything else . . . starting with John Anderson back in 1980.

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Shit, between Spitty and V, Its a wonder the internet has words left to use.

Spitty may fool the morons at Skeebers blog that he isn’t Bakkentom, but I mean really. Tom spends 2 days here and runs to Skeebers-land? Who makes that connection without foreknowledge?

Pathetic, really. But whatever floats his boat.

  8. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The fact that the republicans can get so many people to vote against their interests is what is amazing to me.

Yay! I’m middle class! Raise my taxes on the back of giving tax breaks to the ultra rich! BOHICA!!

Bend over, Berger. Here it comes again.

  9. Berger's avatar Berger says:

    LOL! As I was saying!

  10. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Whatevs, Bergs. Funny you had to steal my line that I leaned to the left but often voted independent. You just applied it to the right.

    • Berger's avatar Berger says:

You saying you lean to the left is like saying Nancy Pelosi leans tom the left. This is funny stuff you are floating! Are you going to be here all week, I’ll try the veal!

  11. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

I don’t vote. I’m part of the hoi polloi

    • Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

And they don’t vote in Geneoushire. Sir Spit does all the voting.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

I haven’t voted for a long time myself. There are two main reasons for that. I haven’t liked any of the candidates, and living on this little rock in the middle of the ocean, the election is always over by the time they count our votes.

      • rob's avatar rob says:

Me too winder. I am interested in politics but have only voted for President twice in my 52 years. Once for Reagan and last year for Gary Johnson. No not our ex #97 lol

  12. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Don’t mean you didn’t steal my shit, Bergs. Cuz ya did.
Both sides are in on the shell game anyway. I just think the right more blatantly panders to big biz.

Citizens united is real good for the (corporate) people.

Makes very little difference if you vote Dem or Repub, both are in the bag for the Oligarchs. Sanders is an independent who is just about unelectable, but he is not in the bag so I like him.
Sure he would take the country too far left but it could use a little leveling out IMO. Unless you are one of the ruling class, in which case vote Hilary or whichever of the tallest Leprechauns wins the contest for the Repubs.

  17. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

Sir Spit dresses in purple robes and pretends this is the 12th Century. Geneoushire is cold and windy but what the heck he’s found a home on the other blog.

    • 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

For now. He doesn’t last long anywhere, too busy impressing himself at everyone elses expense.

  18. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

Now Sir Spit claims he’s got “a good eye” and he’s “insightful” about the 49ers and Jed York. He can tell that both will be busts in the coming season and beyond. Yes sir, that’s the other blog in a nutshell….anti-49er! The white flag of defeat has been raised!

  19. Mr. Breeze's avatar Mr. Breeze says:

12th man, what do you think Greg Cosell was going to say about the 49ers, they stink? These people are suck assess and you’ll never hear the truth from them. If Singletary were still here you would hear the same BS that he reported sorry but that’s a fact.

Some people think that people who tell the truth are just doom and gloom type of fans and that’s far from reality. The truth is if the winning moves made in Seattle were made here everyone would be onboard but that didn’t happen so the only people who believe are fans that would just merely believe no matter what transpired.

Harbaugh was a decent coach but lets face it he left because he got tired of the York’s telling him what to do and yes that included forcing him to turn Alex Smith into a winner. See they did this not for the teams overall success but to try and prove people wrong that a mistake never happened. When you got medley Owners, who try and save money, who are egotistical and want things done their way this is what you end up with. The only Coach that would take this job is a Brown Nose SOB. A shell of a man, with no pride, no balls who going to do what he is told to do. Welcome Jim Tomsula aka Humpty Dumpty!

Caring about winning and assembling the best minds in the business takes time and effort not just a move done with no winning thought just to quickly fill a void. Yes Smart fans wait to see winning moves being made before they put their support around something. That’s why if Carroll was here along with Russell Wilson we’d all be on the same page but please don’t act as if that happened because it didn’t.

  20. 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

“sorry but thats a fact” Actually no it isn’t, its an opinion, yours.

I like Cosell, I liked him when he was criticizing Kap too. I also don’t think Cosell would buck the trend of writing off the Niners just to appease the minority of fans who think the team has a chance of making playoffs this year, how would that serve him?

I was in favor of keeping Harbaugh if he got rid of Roman, however, if word out of Buffalo is correct, it may have been Harbaugh stifling Romans scheme, but who knows. The reality is Harbaugh had his shot and came up short. Blame whoever you want, it changes nothing.

If you are certain the Niners will suck this year does that mean you jump ship? I believe the Spittoon vowed to no longer be a Niner fan, if he ever was one, if Harbaugh left. In fact he would become a Wolverine fan from then on, said so right here on this blog. Being the blowhard that he is he of course didn’t honor that commitment and as usual is spraying his half baked conspiracies hither and yonder managing to sway nobody as usual.

I went to my share of games during the decade of suckitude and will again this year if that turns out to be the case. Tix for the Arizona game in Arizona and the Green Bay game at home in hand. I will buy the Niner gear at the stadium and actually support my team through ticket and clothing purchases as I have always done.

I don’t subscribe to your “facts” as you see them and no amount of BS you put up will change my opinion. What will change my opinion will be seeing the games played out, how the schemes work or don’t, the level of talent on the field and most importantly how the coaches coach and make adjustments to their gameplay. Something Harbaugh was a pile of dog shit at doing, evidence last years first half/second half fiasco.

In short I don’t claim clairvoyant powers such as you think you posses and will wait to see how it plays out.

If I was in town I would be going to games too. I would love to experience the new stadium and all it has to offer. In that respect I am totally jealous.

      • 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

Winder the new stadium is horrible outside and great inside IMO. Loved the Stick but it was past time to build a new home. I like the new digs personally.

      • Winder's avatar Winder says:

Yeah 12th, there is no way that the memories of Candlestick can ever be replaced. Even if it was a dump. I actually go more cold there in the summer at Giant games than any of the winter Niner games and I had season tix for quite a few years.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

I still have a bunch of DeQuix De Candlestick(sp) pins somewhere in a box around here.
