Game Day – Mr. Smith Goes to Santa Clara

Haven’t heard too much chatter about the return of Young Sir Alex to his old stomping grounds, but then again, he hasn’t played here, and no one seems to really care that much. KC is a team that is a bit scattered. They beat the bad teams (Miami, NE) and lost to Denver. Without Jamaal Charles, they lost badly to Tennessee, as Alex was pressured all day and threw 3 picks.

And therein lies what we all know. Alex Smith does not do well under heavy pressure. Really. no one doss well, but you get the point. Kappy was under pressure about 70% of his passes last week and managed to pull off some spectacular plays. So, to me the formula is pretty simple. Stop Charles. Pressure Alex.

On offense, I’d do what we did last week, and establish the run. Roman still hasn’t really grasped the concept of what play-action is, and when/how to use it. Nuts, I know. At least he hasn’t with Kappy. Anyhow, still a little giddy from that 18 inning epic Giants game last night. Woo hoo! This would be a good win against a decent team. One that would hopefully shut up the likes of tin star Deion.

From today’s Washington post, I guess some stories just won’t die. Thttp://tinyurl.com/ltyacujoday’s Washington Post:

  2. Winder says:

I guess i fucked that up

  3. I think this was the one you were referring to Winder. http://tinyurl.com/ltyacuj

That article lost me after it said “49ers won’t retain Harbaugh even if teams wins Super Bowl.” Jim Harbaugh win a Super Bowl? I know they’re putting me on.

  4. Jed York tweeted this morning: Jim is my coach. We are trying to win a SB, not a personality or popularity contest. Any more questions?

Yeah, I have a question. What time are you and Harbaugh having dinner tonight? You sound like one big happy family over there.

  5. NoFear49er says:

Winder, it’s there, it just has to be “decoded” first.
    Thttp://tinyurl.com/ltyacujoday’s Washington Post: = http://tinyurl.com/ltyacuj

  6. NoFear49er says:

Couldn’t get it to post soon enough.

Pretty ridiculous to cut loose a winning HC because he’s grating on some few others. But whatever. Some fans seem to think they’re entitled to a Super Bowl trophy every year AND a very PC coach with good manners, publicly and privately, not to mention the all-choir-boys roster.

    Wish in one hand….

  7. Spitblood says:

It’s impossible for the 49ers to focus on winning games with this circus, and it’s Jed York’s fault.
This is what happens when your owner is a child, and not a leader of men. He let this fester without leadership, like I was saying two weeks ago, and now this story has blown-up so much (because again York didn’t squash it last week), the season is in real jeopardy because the team is confused about who’s doing what.

All it took was a simple statement from York and quick note to the NFL Network two weeks ago to “lay off my team.” But instead, York let it fester, not responding until now the situation is untenable.

Aside from that, when Harbaugh leaves, I’m no longer a 49er fan. Jed York and Trent Baalke? You really think those two will ever win a Super Bowl? I don’t. York record pre-Harbauhg was 60-100. That’s ridiculous. Additionally, I think Jed York is Daniel Snyder. When Harbaugh’s gone, I’m done being a 49er fan.

  8. NoFear49er says:

So you’re a fan of the coach but not the team? There’s always the Raiders, again.

    • Spitblood says:

Yeah, I am. I’m a fan of Jim Harbaugh’s. He’ll win a Super Bowl long before Jed York. NoFear: Do you remember the Erickson, Nolan and Singletary years? They were awful.

The NFL isn’t about hurt feelings or personality contest. It’s about results. Harbaugh gets results and his owner should have backed him, empowering Harbaugh more so players got in line. Instead his owner undermined Harbaugh. That’s the mistake of a child. This 49ers team won’t ever win when the owner is this fucking retarded. So, I’m going to follow Harbaugh and the next team he coaches. A lifetime of Jed York? I wish you guys all good luck with that.

      • NoFear49er says:

Yeah, I think I remember. I also remember a guy who came on the Insider blog with the same crush on Singletary as you have on Harbaugh. Singletary could do no wrong and every problem was someone else’s fault as far as he was concerned. He was a “Niner fan” for as long as Singletary was the HC.

I tried to warn you to wait to see how Harbaugh managed through a little adversity. But you’ll just blame everyone around him for whatever his shortcomings anyway.

      • Spitblood says:

If you’re talking about me, I was never a Singletary fan. I told the blogging world Singletary was a shitty 49er head coaching choice for two reasons: 1.) He’d only been a linebacker coach, and not a DC. 2.) The idea he was a master motivator was laughable. Players at this level don’t need to be inspired or motivated. They are incredibly motivated by the ideas of fame and wealth. If you need motivation at the NFL level, you won’t last long. They need schemes. Singletary, as a linebacker’s coach, wasn’t going to give you coaching schemes like Fangio and Harbaugh. I said that until I was blue in the face. However, in the beginning, I gave Singletary a chance. Regardless, I’m done with this Jed York team. This isn’t the 49ers. I wish you guys all good luck with Jed York.

      • NoFear49er says:

No, that wasn’t you. It was a guy going by GMAC or some such. But your Harbaugh crush is the same as his was for Singletary.

      • Spitblood says:

I think Jim Harbaugh is the best football head coach the NFL has seen in 20 years.

      • 12th man says:

Your Niner fan card needs revoking. I don’t give a damn who, what or where, I am a Niner fan first and last. Who coaches, owns or GM’s is transitory, my allegiance to the team isn’t. Pity you don’t get the big picture with your weak ass arguments and conspiracy theories.

Hope you like college ball cause that’s the likely landing spot for Harbaugh.

      • NoFear49er says:

He’s not even better than Pete.

      • Spitblood says:

12th – I’ll be glad to revoke my own card if Harbaugh is fired, traded or resigns.

  9. inactives: QB Johnson, WR Patton, CB Brock, C Martin, T Davis, TE Davis and DT Carradine.

Just love having that 3rd QB on the roster. About as useful as a third nipple.

  10. Alex Smith is carving us up this opening drive. No surprise coming from a team who lost to Drew fucking Stanton.

  11. Brutal. Making Alex’s job way too easy with zero pressure once again.

  12. Alleykat says:

Boldin better just stick to catching the football, cause he sucks throwing it!

  13. 12th man says:

    Jenkins still sucks.

  14. IH1975 says:

    Lousy cum drinking run D.

  15. 7 men on one side of the ball. I didn’t know about that rule.

  16. Alex Smith is 6 for 7 on 3rd dn conversions. But how could that be? The Niners have the greatest HC the NFL has seen the last 20 yrs.

  17. 12th man says:

finally a punt for the Chiefs

  18. Spitblood says:

This season is over and it’s Jed York’s fault for not supporting his head coach. I love it. I hope the 49ers go 5-11 and the season is a circus. Jed York can suck my dick.

  19. Checkdown Charlie missed a wide open J. Charles down field on that 3rd and 1.
But of course Alex instead chose to throw the ball 1/2 yd *before* the LOS.

  20. 12th man says:

York tweeted today Harbaugh is his coach.

  21. Nipper says:

BLEEP! Niners are behind so far. As for the coaches who cares? They all will move on. That’s the nature of coaching……here today and gone tomorrow. You guys crying about Harbaugh are pathetic.

  22. Nipper says:

I just hope there’s no head butting today by a Niner.

  23. Spitblood says:

    LET’S GO CHIEFS!!!!!

  24. Best the OL has played to date.

  25. 12th man says:

Refs helping out a bit today.

  26. 12th man says:

    YESSSS! Fuck the Chiefs!

  27. unca_chuck says:

    Christ. Pushoff city there.

  28. Spitblood says:

That’s okay, Chiefs. You’ll get ’em next drive.

  29. unca_chuck says:

Kappy had plenty of time to throw there. He made them pay. We have to play run blitz all the time and crowd the line.

  30. Nipper says:

Now for a strong second half! No let up please!

  31. Nipper says:

    Scalp the Chiefs!

  32. unca_chuck says:

    Poor spitty misses Alex.Poor baby.

Got yourself worked in a lather by Deion. What a clown.

  33. unca_chuck says:

Jay Glazer. Deion, and Dildo. Go for it Spitty.

If it does come to pass, they’d be retarded. That don’t mean it won’t happen but to fire a coach after winning a super bowl would be about as stupid as it gets.

But you might as well get ahead of it Spitty.

  34. Spitblood says:

    Let’s go, Chiefs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  35. unca_chuck says:

Go find a chiefs blog/ I’m sure they’ll love you over there.

You got a purty mouth, boy.

  36. NoFear49er says:

Damn announcers can’t get over the Niners getting a spot in their favor.

  37. All the fans are inside trying to get some shade away from the sun.
That you can blame on Jed York.

  38. It’s not like our ST could use another core player or two. Better to have that 3rd QB inactive.

  39. That was quick. Those RBs sure do help Alex’s YPA when they take a pass literally thrown 2 ft. beyond the LOS and take it to the house.

  40. Spitblood says:

Let’s go, Chiefs. When your owner doesn’t come out and squash controversy, this is the result. 2-3 and the 3rd best team in the division.

  41. unca_chuck says:

Wow. 3 and out, 4 play drive. 2nd half blues already

  42. Alleykat says:

Defense got handed their jock straps on that KC drive!

  43. 12th man says:

Martin needs to hit the weight room

  44. unca_chuck says:

    That was horrendously stupid.

  45. Spitblood says:

    Hahahahahaha

  46. unca_chuck says:

    And there goes FG range.

  47. 12th man says:

2 huge kicks for Dawson today

  48. unca_chuck says:

Hooo boy. Defense needs to made a stand here. KC has instantlly gotten pressure on Kappy. We need to stop KCs quick shit. We need to get our CBs up close.

  49. Alleykat says:

Lucky to get 3 out of that messed up drive. Started out crisp then turned moldy fast as the OL collapsed..

  50. 12th man says:

    Nice play by Reid

  51. 12th man says:

    O line falling apart

  52. Spitblood says:

Jed York: “We’re trying to win a Super Bowl.” Really? At 2-3 and the 3rd best team in the division and a ton of controversy you can’t squash? I don’t think so…. Good luck with that.

  53. 12th man says:

    Run the ball

  54. unca_chuck says:

TIme to start smashing them on the line. Take over and then pass.

  55. 12th man says:

    love it

  56. 12th man says:

    Circus shit from Lloyd again

  57. NoFear49er says:

    Outstanding!

  58. Alleykat says:

Great Ballsy Call on that fake punt!
Wow that was a “Super” catch by Lloyd to keep this drive alive.

  59. 12th man says:

    man its a tight game

  60. Spitblood says:

    Let’s go, Chiefs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  61. 12th man says:

    good stop, go Niners!

  62. 12th man says:

    Run the ball.

  63. 12th man says:

Carrier is an amazing TE receiver, almost never drops anything.

  64. Spitblood says:

Happy for Jim Harbaugh the 49ers will 3-2, but can’t wait to root against Jed York after Harbaugh leaves. Fuck Jed York.

  65. Alleykat says:

I do get sick of Alex Smith’s dink&dunk attack, it was getting stale with us and it continues to be boring in KC under Andy Reid another brainless HC with no imagination.
Kap is so much better then Smith its laughable .

  66. Spitblood says:

Phil Simms: “It’s okay if the players are a little unsure of the head coach.” Exactly. But Jed York doesn’t have that insight. It’s easier to find a suit.

    • NoFear49er says:

That’s what you heard? I heard him say you were dead wrong about your conspiracy theory. Accept it and move on.

      • Spitblood says:

Conspiracy theory? Are you kidding? It’s alive and well. This will be Harbaugh’s last year unless there’s such a ground swell of fan support that Jed York doesn’t have a choice but to pay him. Otherwise, Harbaugh is done in SF.

      • 12th man says:

Spitty, that whole “its a team” thing applies to Harbaugh as well, when he figures that out he might win the big games and not wear out his welcome everywhere he goes.

  67. NoFear49er says:

Goodwin could never handle those NTs like Kilgore. And he goes hard on every play.

  68. 12th man says:

Well here it is, Alex Smith gets his chance.

  69. walsh says:

    blog for dumbshits…good job chuck

  70. NoFear49er says:

    Sack!

  71. NoFear49er says:

I’ll take an INT by Alex to end his grudge match.

  72. 12th man says:

That’s the Alex Smith I remember! Single handidly lost this game! Rob loves Cox

  73. Spitblood says:

Alex Smith: Yer, uh, no Joe.

  74. Alleykat says:

Typical Alex Smith a ” Big Choke Loser in the Clutch”
    And I’m fine with that!
    Ballgame check!
Alex Smith loser in the clutch .. Check
    49ers rolling on!

  75. NoFear49er says:

Ya gotta feel a little bad for the guy. He always thought it was somebody else’s fault.

  76. NoFear49er says:

Keep rooting against the Niners Spitblood.

  77. unca_chuck says:

Good to see Bill come back from the dead to visit.

Another strong defensive game, and a game that was won by the ST unit rather than screwed up by it. Balls call on the punt.

Red zone offense? uh, yeah. That shit needs to get fixed. Everything else seems to be coming along. Martin played well until he completely sucked. Some crazy sit going on out there.

Yeah, NoFear. Kilgore had a very good game today. kappy finally had some decent time on some throws.

    • NoFear49er says:

Your shit is as tiresome as Spit’s.

How does that affect the circus catches by several receivers? Or the runs by Gore and Hyde?

We didn’t exactly have a blow out win at home because “kappy finally had some decent time on some throws.”

Hell, another QB on the last drive might have won the game. Thankfully, it was Alex come back to take revenge on all us haters. But keep on with your baseball buddies, “Alex is a very good QB.” LOL!

      • unca_chuck says:

Are you even talking to me, NoFear? You reference shit I didn’t say. Maybe it’s the voices in your head?

You know what they say. A wasted mind is a terrible thing to use.

    • unca_chuck says:

What the fuck are you talking about? How does having time to throw deep affect the circus catches? Maybe it gives Kappy time to throw them. Seriously? Gawd. I thought you were a little smarter than that. My mistake

You think the red zone offense was good? I sure didn’t. This was the best pass blocking all year. I don’t memtion Alex yet you infer something from that? Yer on glue, skippy.

Funny thing is, you knocked Smith for not scoring TDs. The Niners kick 5 FGs today, and it’s no problem, What’s your fucking point? Yer cute when you completely flip flop.

Baseball buddies? Fuck dude, lighten up on the meds. You are jumping at shadows again.

  78. Nipper says:

Fire Jim Harbaugh! Dennis demands it!

  79. NJ49er says:

How about the game by Bruce Miller Spit?
    Still missing Delanie?

    Yeh, I know, Baalke sucks.
For every argument you make about Jed and Baalke, there seems to be a player selected by, or acquired by Baalke, that makes a play to keep a drive alive.

Stevie Johnson for a future 4th looking like a good deal to you yet?
How about resurrecting Bling Lloyd on the cheap?

Oh, sorry, you’ve defected to KC already.
    My bad.

  80. unca_chuck says:

That shit don’t count. Seriously folks. i wish i was having fun with this, but I ain’t.

  81. unca_chuck says:

NoFear, cutting loose a winning coach has been a tradition in every sport, Even a Super Bowl winner. From Jimmy Johnson to Bill Parcells to Mark Jackson of the Warriors, to any of another 100 guys, anyone is fair game where it comes to management.

    • NoFear49er says:

WTF are you talking to? Yourself?

“If Jed is that stupid, well, who knows? More and more from these national guys. I’m sure Jim loves the thrash but Jesus, this is getting ridiculous.”

      • unca_chuck says:

Gee, No Fear. Earlier in the day too long for your memory to function? Pretty ridiculous?

Except for the fact it has happened about 500 times in pro sports. Just making appoint, skippy.

        I still don’t get your 7:18 post.

  82. NJ49er says:

Florio over at PFT is still spinning the Cleveland trade scenario as, Mrs Harbaugh not wanting to leave the Bay Area.
If that’s the case, Jim obviously was aware of or, possibly requested, to be released from his Contract?

Whatever the sticking point(s) involved, I just don’t think Jim is comfortable having to answer to a GM, nor do I think he’s capable of running an NFL roster without one.

    This just in Jim.
Recruiting at the College level isn’t the same as managing an NFL roster.

  83. NJ49er says:

And just in case you missed it, Jim Schwartz asked to be carried off the Field after beating his former employer today in Detroit.
And everyone jumped on Harbaugh for not showing proper sportsmanship following the infamous back-slap game in Detroit a few years back?

    Schwartz is complete eff’n moron.

Congrats Jim, you beat Detroit today.
    Sorry, no hardware included.

    • 12th man says:

      Classy guy.

    • NoFear49er says:

That’s not a very good way to build a rep among your peers and future employers. And it’s not a great example for your players to see. I’ll bet he’s got the biggest I-love-me room in the business. And a shot of that would make a great mural for it.

      • NJ49er says:

        Precisely NoFear49er.
He should be careful, he could easily throw out a shoulder patting himself on the back like that too.

        Total douche move IMO.
If not for the Detroit kicker, Henery, they lose that game anyway.

Nice way to thank your former employers for giving you a HC job in the 1st place.

        Classless POS.

      • NoFear49er says:

Yeah, that Henery isn’t any better than the rook they fired. The Lions had the same kicker for something like twenty years. Now they know what a good kicker is worth, or what a bad one costs.

Schwartz helped them and hurt them as much I think. It was the right move to replace him. They have the best guys that can’t stay healthy now. Except for their kicker, that is.

      • NJ49er says:

Well NoFear49er, Denver just released Prater the other day.
My guess is Henery won’t be sleeping too well before Tuesday, we’ll see?

  84. Nipper says:

Bad mouthing Jed York is shameless. Remember when the Niners didn’t have a new stadium? Just look across the Bay to Oakland with that pathetic edifice called Mt. Davis. That surely is a monument to the stupidity of Alameda and Oakland. And it’s apparently not paid off! Ouch!

    • NJ49er says:

Some people just gonna hate Nipper.
Rough racket trying to please everyone when it comes to the 9ers I guess?

    • 12th man says:

Right Nipper, Jed has put up the money for players, coaches, and the stadium, in order to try to win the SB. Unlike his Dad, who installed vending machines in the players locker room making them pay for drinks, Jed is more in the mold of Eddie and has been willing to pay. Incidentally, paying Harbaugh $5 mil per year for an untested college coach was top dollar at the time with only the rumor that the Dolphins were willing to maybe pay more.

York has done his part IMO. He could have gone cheap when looking for a coach but he didn’t.

  85. unca_chuck says:

Love it. Dallas had to go to a silent count th their own stadium because the Texans fans were too loud. Jerry Jerkoff priced his own fans out of his own stadium. They actually have a pretty good team, and no one is coming. Not the Dallas fans, anyway.

  86. unca_chuck says:

12th, York did sign him, but they also kicked the tires on trading him. There’s obviously something behind all these reports. Whether the team has his back is one thing, but the front office appears not to.

But they are just going to let it ride. I think this ends up just like the Mark Jackson situation. He’s gone after the season.

  87. unca_chuck says:

Found this on the intertubes. Number 55 was a little worried about ol’ Frank laying the wood.

He almost blocked his own guy rather than take on Frank.
