Draft Day Part Deux

Eric Reid, come on down! The 49ers traded up to get a safety. It wasn’t the one I expected, but there you have it. They obviously have seen more and know more than the average fan, but still people will bitch.

The Niners still have 3 picks today. I’m still of a mind hey go DL with their 2nd round CB with their next 2nd rounder, and maybe TE?WR with the 3rd round. Meetings all morning. See ya later.

    3 picks today, actually: 34, 63 and 93.

DE, NT, TE? Or maybe another safety or CB in the mix.

    • JDR's avatar JDR says:

My picks are: Ertz, a surprise pick on an OLB who fell and a large body for the D-Line. Which of course means that they’ll actually take a DE, WR and G.

  2. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Ahh, I was changing it as you posted.

    • Grumpy Guy's avatar Grumpy Guy says:

We still have a 4th, 5th, 2 6ths and 7th which are NOT compensatory, that we can use to move up in say the third round. The 5th, for instance, could move us up 6 or 7 slots in the third. I would not be surprised to see a couple more trades before the draft is done.

Rodgers, rolling right… Looks down field…WIDE open is Randall Cobb… TOUCHDOWN PACKERS!!! (Ted Robinson KNBR radio) Where were the Niners’ safeties on that play, E.D.? (Eric Davis) As a 13-year veteran of the NFL and former Pro Bowler, allow me to answer that question for you Ted…first off the Niners have a rookie from LSU playing in the box. Not too smart. First two words that popped into my mind when the Niners drafted Reid were Joe Thomas. That was followed by RMS 49ers Titanic. That’s the compass direction this ship is headin’…And to top that off, pretty sure my eyes are not deceiving me, but they have a white guy playing over the top at the other safety spot. I said white guy. Did you hear me right? I said WHITE guy. That’s W-H-I-T-E…Honky! Playing safety. That’s the best “color” commentary you’ll ever get outta me, TED.

Did the Packers just score another TD down the middle? They don’t even have the ball. How is that possible? My bad. Silly me. White guy on the field playing safety for the Niners. Anything and everything can and will happen.

why do you always talk like your full of sh!T?? just a thought I had.

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Fan card: Revoked. You are a disgrace. Even the worst doomers aren’t as whiny as you, Dennis.

      • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

I’m sorry you fell out of your high chair, Dennis but Christ, we are 4.5 months from kickoff and you whine incessantly in fucking APRIL? Gawd. Lighten the fuck up.

      • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

I’ll put my Niner fan card up to you and anyone else for that matter. In the imitable words of longtime boxing announcer, Michael Buffer…I am (Dennis) second tooooooo Nnnnnnuuuunnnnnn! I’m in the red corner wearing white and gold trunks coming in at a “svelte” 220 lbs. With an undefeated record of 49-0. No draws. And all 49 wins coming by way of a TKO… I am the Budweiser Clydesdale WBC (World Beer Champion) Champion of the world….

    • JDR's avatar JDR says:

Wait… Dennis, wasn’t your fantasy team called “No Manning, No Super Bowl” ?

      Shut the fuck up.

  6. Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Am I whiny? Maybe so. But it’s best that I express my displeasure. No. Strike that. It is imperative that I release my anger in only words. It’s good for my health and the health of many others. As Dr. Melfi said to Tony, “rage is depression turned inward.” If I didn’t release rage on blogs and in other peaceful, quiet settings. I would be murdering people left and right.

“Irate 49er fan kills mother and her two kids in Old Towne Pinole. Sources say he became increasingly mad at a moments notice when the mother (Bugs) and her two children, Daffy (8) and Elmer (6) continually tried to feed “his” Mallards crackers at the Pinole Creek. Dennis kept yelling, “Bread! Give them bread! They don’t like crackers. Bread. Bread. Bread.” The mother and her kids did not heed his words. It was at that time that Dennis took one of his sourdough baguettes, intended for his ducks, and beat Bugs, Daffy and Elmer to death over their heads until there was nary a crumb to be found. As Dennis was handcuffed and whisk away by the PD, he expressed remorse….to the birds. He was sorry there were no crumbs for them to eat. Dennis vowed to come later and feed his little flying friends. News at 11.”

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Great. Start paying me to be your therapist then, Dennis. Otherwise, lighten up. The point being, the team, us here, Alex Smith, or anyone else, owe you nothing. Your problems aren’t ours.

  8. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

That’s an excellent article, RTF. It warms my heart. Undead Al Davis has passed the torch to Jerry Jones as the owner most desired to go to the great beyond. Thank God he can’t get out of his own way.

  9. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I’m liking this Reid kid more and more all the time. He’s just the kind of flash this team needs and it seems like he has a good head on his shoulders. Now, should we get the Stanford TE or go to the meat and potatoes from Alabama? I dunno.

  10. Chico's avatar Chico says:

The draft starts at 3:30 today? Not an ideal start time for the working man.

  11. JDR's avatar JDR says:

Wow. Rodgers signs the richest contract in history, $40m next year alone. Might be time to extend Kaep another couple years before we have to set a new record on the guy.

  12. RTFirefly's avatar RTFirefly says:

    OK, I’m sold. Tyrann today.

When I visited the LSU campus 5 ago, it was OK. Southern Girls, however, are incomparable. Forget California, and New Mexico isn’t on the map.
However, LA is a strange state. No counties, just parishes.
Smoke a joint, get kicked off the team.
The Raiders won 3 SBs and the San Francisco Giants kicked butt for years with guys having buddies shoot needles into their butts.
A guy that smokes weed and drops off the boards because of the NFL testing policy (that’s an oxymoron, of course, I write it in jest), but is the best corner in the whole draft is my kinda guy.
Let’s see what happens. I’m rooting for this guy now.

  13. RTFirefly's avatar RTFirefly says:

Wow, another Niner pick trade. I’m not even going to try to keep up with it today

  14. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Dennis must be speeding toward the ground. This trade sent him off the ledge.

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    There goes Ertz . . .

  16. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Ahhh. It was a 3rd rounder for next year.

  17. RTFirefly's avatar RTFirefly says:

The over/under for New York Jets QBs on the roster after they pick poor Geno.
    7. I suppose David Garrard shouldn’t really count, so
    6.

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The Tenn Tits should suck next year anyway so that’ll be e decent pick in the 3rd.

  19. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Keenan Allen? Or Jesse Williams?
