I see this Season starting with lots of motion and ground attack.
Our OL is going to take time to adjust to the new system, however, a WCO should help them once Alex and the WRs get into the necessary rhythm.
Game 1, lots of Gore and Hunter, 9ers win a close one. I do expect Harbaugh to take some deep shots though, VD and Braylon will be a nice duo.

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee runs through the San Francisco 49ers’ undrafted free-agent class. Barrows: “Among the standouts are the three Stanford players, Chris Owusu, Matt Masifilo and Michael Thomas, and running back Jewel Hampton, whom I wrote about earlier in the week. Also of note is Clemson’s Kourtnei Brown, who has Aldon Smith-like dimensions and who ran his 40-yard dash in the 4.6-second range.”

There was a little flirtation on both sides, but Alex Smith wound up back in San Francisco.
That means he will be working with the same offensive coordinator for a second season for the second time in his eight-year NFL career. That means he doesn’t have to spend the offseason learning a new playbook. Greg Roman and the rest of the 49ers offensive staff will use the time to focus on two mechanical flaws in Smith’s game this offseason, according to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com. The belief is that correcting the flaws will make Smith a more accurate passer.
Smith will be working on keeping his front leg flexed while throwing and he will be trying to drop back in a straighter line. Smith goes off center while dropping back, something that the team feels is affecting his accuracy. Smith completed a career-high 61.3 percent of his passes while taking the 49ers to the NFC Championship Game.
Accuracy might also be improved if the additions to the 49ers’ receiving corps — Mario Manningham, A.J. Jenkins and Randy Moss — give Smith better options when throwing the ball. If the mechanical work and the new faces work, Smith should be in line for an even better season than he had in 2011.

Yep or cryin’ out loud. But Alex is a good student and has shown the ability to learn and progress even without the natural talent of Peyton Manning, Montana or whomever. A good year ahead for Niners and Alex and the offense I predict

Jerry Rice will take A.J. Jenkins to “the hill”

The wide receiver taken by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the NFL draft is going to get whipped into shape by the former 49ers receiver who is regarded by many as the greatest player in NFL history.
A.J. Jenkins, the former Illinois receiver who was selected by the 49ers in this year’s NFL draft, has been trading messages on Twitter with Jerry Rice, the Hall of Famer who was the 49ers’ first-round draft pick in 1985 and was ranked No. 1 in NFL Network’s list of the 100 greatest players ever. Rice confirmed today on ESPN’s NFL Live that he plans to take Jenkins to “the hill,” the 2.5-mile uphill path he regularly ran during his NFL career. Rice said that if Jenkins can master the hill, he’ll be at his best in the fourth quarter when everyone else is spent.
“In the fourth quarter you’ve still got to be able to make plays, make that incredible catch to win that football game, so I want to introduce him to that hill,” Rice said of Jenkins. “Hopefully we can build a relationship where we can start working together.”
The 49ers will never have another Jerry Rice, but if Jenkins takes his offseason conditioning as seriously as Jerry Rice, he’ll have a very successful career in San Francisco.

“”In Week 3 of the 1980 season, 49ers starting quarterback Steve DeBerg came down with a case of laryngitis so bad the team had to fashion an amplifier for his helmet so that he could call signals during that week’s game against the New York Jets in Shea Stadium…
…Sure enough, when the 49ers were in the Jets red-zone, DeBerg started pointing to his throat, the signal that the amplifier had cut out. In came Montana, who promptly ran a naked bootleg for a five-yard touchdown. After the play, DeBerg’s amplifier miraculously started working again.
That amplifier contraption is one of the artifacts the 49ers recently have obtained for their hall of fame, which will be part of the new stadium. The team has all sorts of items – from the ball from Montana’s first touchdown pass in 1979 to Steve Wallace’s concussion-proof padding to Walsh’s desk – but is looking for more.

Ha ha, yeah that was a depressing moment in Niner history!! there is always a moment in a game when you just know your team is going to lose!! In the 2002 World Series, when the Angels came back in that game, I just knew the Giants were not going to win the WS that year!! even though there was another game to play!!
