I see this Season starting with lots of motion and ground attack.
Our OL is going to take time to adjust to the new system, however, a WCO should help them once Alex and the WRs get into the necessary rhythm.
Game 1, lots of Gore and Hunter, 9ers win a close one. I do expect Harbaugh to take some deep shots though, VD and Braylon will be a nice duo.

Forty Niners Forever 
Yeah, having 3 days and a 6 hour plane ride to scheme for Balt’s defense is a tough challenge. Still and all, I’d think slants were in order, and screens as well. Hard to say if this is a blip or a harbinger of things to come. 2 games before Pissburgh. 2 games to work out the O line problems and get Snyder healthy. The ESPN wonks wer asking, are these guys a flash in the pan, like Buff and Detroit? Thankfully, someone said, no, they are 4-1 on the east coast. No mean feat.
Just chalk this one up to a tough set of circumstances and move on. For all the shitty play, the 2 penalties wiped out 150 yards of territory, and would have provided a different outcome.
Reality check, we still can’t walk on water. Props to Alex for being a very tough football player, he got hammered. Kinda like that timex watch, “takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.” We did not adjust to the Ravens D and it cost us dearly, and what’s up with a 3 man rush? From my seat in the peanut gallery it sure looked like we were very muchly outcoached.
The only plausible explanation for no blitzing by Niners was the Flacco penchant for hitting deep balls now and again. Coaches knew if you gave up a cheapie or two, they were toast because this offense could not score 20+ on the Ravens at home, unless they got handed some turnovers. Which brings me to that — no turnovers for the Niner D. That’s a real equalizer given the limp nature of the Niner offense that really can use a short field to score, including from the boot of Akers…
Yeah. Flacco played well strictly underneath. You’d have thunk on a couple of those 3rd down plays Fangio would have dialed up pressure. As it was there was 3 men coming on most of those.
Same thing happened with Dallas. We had Romo on the ropes, and let him off . . .
Niners most glaring weakness? Clearly the receiver corps.
Nobody can really get separation on long patterns on a consistent basis.
Edwards is either still really hurt, or is nearly done as an effective wide out.
Crabby is improving, but won’t make anybody forget John Stallworth.
Williams must not have confidence of coaches — did he even get a snap last night?
Ginn is a close relation of Edward Scissorhands.
VD is overrated. Very good blocker, but has below average hands. Often looks like he’s clueless in the pattern — where he should be, whether he was actually a option in the pattern or even if he was the hot receiver on the blitz. Used to be Alex’ fav, what happened?
Throws to backs in the flat or over the middle or screens have not been in the repertoire, for whatever reason, for most of the season. The TD to Miller a coupla weeks back is the only significant one I remember. That part of the playbook needs to be dialed up…
They threw one swing pass that Williams couldn’t reach. That was all I saw from KW. Not having Miller was readily apparent. They continue to run Ginn out there, and the guy gets open, but he just can’t catch. That last pass he’s GOT to use his hands. This isn’t sandlot football.
That being said, there’s enough time to get shit right. I would like to see Kilgore Trout in there some. They need more and better options than Chilo.
And Person . . .
All we need to do is stitch together Ginn’s legs, the Crab’s hands, and Morgan’s head, and we’d have one great NFL WR.

Unfortunately, he’s gone on to be one of the least gracious studio analysts ever..
My theory is that it’s very difficult for a guy with that kind of HoF talent to be a good coach or analyst. They cannot ever quite get their head around the fact that not everyone has that talent or drive.
Well, Jerry’s never been the most articulate guy out there. He gives stiff and stilted a run for their money. Not sure why he waited 7 years to pick up his announcing career, but he’s a here-and-gone type. Ronnie Lott was good. Not sure what happened with him.
